Nene nodded as the collar was undone, she eventually moved her hands to her neck to remove it completely.

When you instructed your soldiers to take the unconscious valkyrie, some of them began to move her towards one of the rooms.

"Should we setup a guard?" One of the soldiers asked.

Minette soon took over once you gestured towards her, with the bespectacled demihuman nodding slowly and proceeding to speak in Isikawan. It seemed like Minette was ready to give a tour of the estate, and eventually find a room for Nene to use. While the two of them began to chat, you made your way to the garden.

Making your way towards the hedgemaze at the estate, you finally managed to make your way towards the middle. At the center of it was a small open-aired building that contained some chairs and a table. Trudy had noticed you, and she waved at you as well. She was wearing a different set of clothes than her normal uniform as well, having switched out of it during the sale and transfer of Nene and the Valkyrie to Aldric.

"Hanako!" Trudy called out cheerily. "You found me..." She waited until you got closer.

"So... what do you think? Minette helped... The glasses was her idea, but I don't really need them... I kinda feel silly..." She said as she fidgeted with them.

Synithise was quiet for a moment as she listened to your explanation of the recruits.

"I'm... sorry..." Synithise finally said. "As priestesses, our kin are kept close, and apart from our ties with the royal family, and potentially other clean heads, we keep to ourselves enough that the Shifting phenomenon that brings other countries to this world, didn't affect us on a personal level... After all... for us priestesses, families are still kept even if we did lose our royal city and much of the government."

"I can't begin to imagine losing the others. This clan that I lead..."

The guard lead the two of you onwards to the meeting room. The room itself was guarded by two other Lamia Priestesses who nodded towards both you and Synithise, their matriarch. Opening the door, they then ushered you inwards.

There were a couple of 'people' in the room. Three of them looked to be humanoid bat creatures, while the other looked like pale or blue-skinned human.

The pale one had a large scythe on her back, and looked to be wearing a thick scarf around her neck. She stared at you when you went in, and that was when you realized her eyes looked unnatural. They were black instead of white. Upon seeing you, she licked her lips.

"Why, hello there."

Next were the three bat creatures. There were two females and one male. The male one looked to be a giant werebat of some sort. The other two looked to be slightly different from each other. The one that was sitting down with the pale-skinned one looked to be the most human, with her skin less furry as the others, and also the fact that she had hair at the top of her head. You did note that she wore a blindfold over her eyes. The other two were who more beast-like and they standing a distance away from her.

"Are you the hero?"

The two in the back eyed you carefully. They weren't armed, but they gave you the impression of being bodyguards.

["Hanako! Glad you could swing by... My first 'mission' was coming up soon later today, and I was afraid to go into... I'm glad you have Klein's accountant with you as well, I feel like I'd need to get an idea of all these deals that Klein had... I'm not much of a businessman, more of a showman, you see?"]

One of the meeting rooms of the Klein estate was situated on the first floor, near the lobby. It was the same room that was used during your first visit from Sofia Leiningen. This was the one where you had the rest of your crew, Aldric, Minette, and Wendy, meet up in. Soon enough, the four of you sat around the table.

"Hanako! Glad you could swing by...  My first 'mission' was coming up soon later today, and I was afraid to go into... I'm glad you have Klein's accountant with you as well, I feel like I'd need to get an idea of all these deals that Klein had... I'm not much of a businessman, more of a showman, you see?"

"All... you need is... the proper information." Minette replied in her slow speech.

"So what exactly are we dealing in here? Darling Hanako?"

You opened the door quietly, and you found Falah in her bed. Her body was heaving in short spasms, and it took you a moment to realize that she had been crying.

When she noticed the door was opened, she froze up, and quickly wiped her face.

"Hanako! Umm... Hi! I heard there was a party downstairs earlier... Was it fun?" She asked, she had forced a smile as well, trying to keep her tone light.

Soon enough the meeting of the various church heads of other countries were gathered. It seemed like Ragnar was able to get representatives from most countries. None of them were told that you were here however.

Specify with Ragnar if you want to be introduced, or etc. Keep in mind they all think the hero/future queen is in bed.

The following countries and their churches were represented.

From your kingdom, the Church of Fire, Church of Earth, Church of Air, and Church of the Light was represented.

From the Felencorp United Alliance, a tall human male represented them, from 'Church of Light'.

From the Baolong Dynasty, a representative from the 'Temple of Heaven and Light', was present. His clothing was a lot more colorful than the rest.

From the Bashkassia Federation, was a cat-eared demihuman from the 'Church of The Goddesses'.

From the Hierdsvain Valkyries, a girl wearing armor represented them, their church having no formal name.

From the Isikawa Sovereignty, was a priestess wearing similar clothes to Akari, from the 'Shrine of Light'. Akari seemed to recognize her and continued to stare.

From the Antwarch Dragon Knight Kingdom, was a priest in robes, from the 'Church of Light'.

The last country to represent was from the Xalaster Orthodoxy's 'The Church'.

Excited about how quickly you retrieved the mushrooms for her, Mary next requested that you find her a giant boar. This time around you had a different knight, and his dragon companion. Likewise, you noticed Alyona trying to hide a distance away, but you were pretty sure Valeriya noticed as well. The knight in training along with his companion, did not however.

It was during your search that you found something else in the forests at the northern section. It was a young girl, though she wore tatters around her, and you noticed that she was armed as well. She was propped up on a tree, and seemed to have wounds all over, though she made attempts to cover them with bandages.

It looked like an eye of some sort, and eventually, it began to speak.

Mary, the dragon knight trainee camp's Chef had demanded. Earlier this day, Valeriya had gone and ate some of the random food Mary was preparing, and as payment, she had asked for both the hero and Valeriya to help out.

And now, you, Valeriya, Thurston, the dragonknight newbie who had challenged you in the ceremony the day before, and his dragon companion, Dariya found yourselves in the nearby forest, searching for the giant mushrooms that Mary requested. Behind you, you felt like someone was watching.

"You're 18 now son! It's time to be looking for someone to settle down with, don't you think?" He grinned at you. "Make a family, give us some grandkids. Anyways, I wanted to get you this after they left. Didn't want Tami-chan to get jealous."

He revealed forth what looked to be a sword. It was of the same make that the people of your country used. A katana. He placed it on the table for you.

"Plus... it's just about this time when your mom gave birth to you... I think it's fitting we get you your coming of age gift then."

Not only that, the trees were back to the same color of green that you were used to. The strange thing too was that the skies above went from grey, to the clear blue that you were familiar with.

"This starts the territory known as the Xalaster Orthodoxy. I suspect it's here that we part ways?" Zavan asked to confirm.

You woke up the next morning feeling excited about finishing the book, you read through the rest of it while both Minette and Hanako had begun reading their own book. Hanako was finishing up hers, while Minette had begun reading through the book about the 'Shifting'.

It was a lazy morning, with all three of you reading a book while still in bed. In the middle of it, Trudy had gone out to get some breakfast for everyone, and soon enough the three of you were eating some light breakfast while continuing the reading and research.

The rest of the book you read begun explaining more about the Velethen Empire, in the perspective of the archaeology work, along with research from the original author of the book. Klein and his translator didn't seem to make much progress in deciphering everything, and it seemed like Klein had managed to act on the hint of the city. Though, there were questions such as wasn't the land they were on part of the original Refedoria kingdom? What happened to the original city that was there?

It was through the reading the rest of the book that you noted a couple of things:

• The Velethen Empire was rich in technology and magic. They seemed to make a combination of the two called 'Magitech'. Many of the artifacts of the original New World were actually tools and weapons from that era long ago.
  
• The Velethen Empire existed thousands upon thousands of years ago. It seemed like around 6,000 or more years. Though, even that estimate wasn't clear.
  
• The cities of the Velethen Empire were huge, they spanned high in the skies with tall buildings, and even floating islands. They also had underground sections of their city.
  
• Some cataclysmic event had happened late in the Velethen Empire's reign, and it seemed like much of the world was affected then. Humanity seems to have went through something close to a dark age, which eventually resulted in the forming of smaller countries, which, over the course of a few hundred years, became the birth of the Old Felothian kingdom.

Minette and Trudy had given their report as well, of the books they had read.

Trudy who read that Refedorian book about heroes told you some bits of information, but many of it didn't seem to be as important. It seemed to include tales of heroes from the Refedorian Kingdom.

• The Refedorian kingdom and its neighbors at the time had summoned heroes in the past, each time was during times of crisis.
  
• Various tales and opponents the heroes had fought.
  
• They are said to be summoned from the goddess herself
  
• They are summoned from summoning circles that take time to 'recharge' in order to be used again. Usually once every couple hundreds of years.
  

Minette, who understood the language of the Idorian Magic Kingdom, had decided to read the book about the 'Shifting' by Eloise Renaud. She told you the following.

• The shifting is the term used to describe the fact that random countries, peoples, land features, appear out of no where. Replacing whatever was there currently.
  
• Unknown what happens to the places that were there.
  
• Underground things are affected as well. Cases where a moist swampland was replaced by dry desert ground, going deep into the earth. Though, climate itself remains similar to the original.
  
• The shifting can occur to summon small pieces of lands, and sometimes big. It seems to be random. There were actually a couple of cases where a small patch of land was 'Shifted', and it had only included a summoning circle.
  
• Some potential theories and links. It seems many of the lands that were summoned had some sort of link to heroes. Either people who believed in heroes, or had a similar set of gods in their pantheon that they had worshipped.
  
• Most peoples that were summoned believed in the Goddess of Light, though, that isn't always the case.
  
• The last 10 years had seen the most summoning both in the Idorian Magic Kingdom's world, and from the perspective of the original New World inhabitants. Though, it notes, that it is probably due to the war with the demons.

Making your way to the guild hall, there were quests for killing rats and bringing their tails. There was also quests to kill goblins at the Guild-sponsored dungeon. Lastly there was plenty of odd jobs such as cleaning bathrooms or homes, or even things like finding lost keys, or their lost pet (which weren't cats).

Waking up that morning, it looked like the rest were still asleep. There were two bunk beds on either side of Dalina's room. The Priestess and her sister on one bunk bed, with you and Ren on another. Sometime during the night however, Ren had managed to make her way into your bed, and she was still sleeping soundly, with her tentacles wrapped around you, and in your clothes.

Gust was perched out on the window, looking inwards, he chirped a few times,. "Morning!" He said, but eventually flew away.

The slimeling on the other hand was already awake, it looked like it had begun eating the covers and bedsheets on Ren's bed. It left the mattress underneath untouched however. When it noticed you were awake it plopped a few sounds that you understood as its language.

"Food giver!" It then flew into the air, aiming straight for your face.

You could attempt reflex, DC 10, to move out of the way and catch it deftly instead, or just have it go through.

"Oh? Frau hero... you wanted to know about Klein's records? He had... a lot of things..." Minette said as she moved over to some stacks of paper. Like before she was wearing her coat, but she seemed to have been missing her pants. Her white underwear was plain to see, though, she either didn't seem to notice, or was unconcerned.

"I thought... you might have wanted to know. So... I made a report." She placed the papers on a desk, and started arranging them into neat stacks. Looking at them you realized they were a rather detailed accounting on Klein's assets. Or at least the ones he had. Altogether Klein was heavily involved with gathering and producing metals, though he sold the metal ingots to customers rather than using it himself. He also owned a money lending operation, and most of his goods were under the name 'Klein Company'. It seemed like Minette handled most of ther accounting and administrative work, while Klein provided a lot of the direction. Apparently there were others like Minette who handled the more finer details of each operation on the sites themselves.

Klein also seemed to have plans for expansion. There were plots of land that he had recently acquired, and he had planned to setup a lumberyard, oir perhaps another factory. It looked like the one with the summoning circle was also part of this new land. Apparently, according to the records, that area of land had suddenly appeared not too long ago, and Klein already had dealings with the government in order to purchase the land when it was available. It seemed to have been by chance that Klein stumbled upon a summoning circle.

Minette gives you all the information about it. Assume you can recall this information from memory with a DC 10 INT, or potentially applicable Knowledge check, or Autohypnosis check at DC 15 (for memorizing the entire thing). If you have the stacks of paper, or choose to keep a notebook for yourself, or have Minette on hand, you can skip the skill checks.

But... there are other meetings coming up still... His next slave contact meeting is in a few days from now... Minette continued to list a variety of upcoming meetings and negotiations. She even pointed out a calendar that Klein had kept. Having Sofia Leiningen, the Chief Executive of her own business, appear in order to make some business deals didn't seem to be as far-fetched anymore.

"I haven't yet cancelled all of the meetings coming up... If we are to try and spin the story of Klein's reclusiveness, other nobles might instead decide to visit... Especially if there's a specific deal they were most interested in making with the Klein Company. We might be able to send each of them letters to cancel anything we have pending though...

Lastly, a letter had come in this morning, with an invitation from Sofia Leiningen to Klein and his servants for a tour of their new facility, in hopes that they can create an 'agreement'."

"He's here! But looks like he brought four guards with him this time." One of the soldiers with a collar came rushing in the front door. Immediately the other soldiers took their position, each going out. There was already a soldier at the gate, so the remaining began to meet with the new guests. Trudy took her place near the front door.

Looking out, you see a horse-drawn carriage, pulled by two horses on front. There was a driver for the coach, and there was one guard who sat at the back of the carriage in the open. Another two guards were mounted on horses behind the carriage. You noted that these guards didn't seem to have any uniform, though they wore padded armor, and what looked like sabers on their side.

The carriage stopped at the gate, where one of your slave-soldiers opened the gate to let them in. The slavers went at a relaxed pace, but eventually the carried stopped at the front entrance of Klein's estate.

Making your way out of the cavern, you noticed that there was a small path that lead out from it, to a larger main road a distance away. From there, the road itself went into a walled city. It was surprising. A random cavern dungeon, that was right next to a city? Not only that, this was a large city. The architecture wasn't something you've seen before. It looked quaint and stylized. If you had to guess it gave of a German-vibe to it.

From a distance, you see two people on the road, making their way towards you. You were able to pick out what they were wearing. One had leather armor, while the other one was a girl with who held a staff with both of her hands, and wore a pointy hat, which you could only describe as a wizard hat.

Dalina sighed but eventually sat down.

You had been hard at training for almost 12 hours now, in a previous life, that amount of strenuous activity would have been exhausting. But for you right now, it wasn't at all that bad. You didn't even realize how much time had passed during your time first learning how to fight with your fists, sparring with Vitaliya and Renenutet, then performing feats in conjunction with your tentacles.

"Plus, its interesting seeing ze power of a hero... He's made amazing progress, and has more stamina to boot."

"Well, it's a good thing at least one of us is fired up. The council meeting only now got out. You have no idea how much convincing I had to do to get them to side with us. But they have! It doesn't change the fact that the summoning circle won't work again for another couple hundred years, but they seem to have come to the conclusion that they should make the best with what they have..."

"It took some trying, but they all agreed to help you in your journey Jean. Getting setup with any training, equipment, shelter, or any other resource we could offer. We're letting you choose and take a companion bird egg as well. Anyways Jean, count yourself lucky!"

"I'm not sure master... I was sent here to help you... To serve you..." Her eyes glinted.

"To please you. If you think something will help our other master, then I will help you."

Gust continued leading the way, the structure that he lead you to was at a lower level than Dalina's home, but much like Dalina's home, the building itself was situated near the edge of the mountainside. It was made from the same material as the temple however.

There were lines of various other priests in a row. Some boys and some girls, though you noted that there were a few older individuals there as well. Each of them seemed to be practicing some sort of basic attacks with both their arms and feet. Their clothes were visibly being gusted with wind, though it may have been from the fact they were so close to the edge of the mountain-side without much protection from the high winds.

A female instructor was drilling them, calling out to each individual priest when their form looked bad, or was simply not up to par with her standards.

"Yes! Yes! Yes! Put you're back into it! No! No! No! That's the wrong form! Yes! Like that! Yes Yes! Focus harder!"

The instructor was a large woman, though fit as you can see the bulk of her body was toned with muscles. She had an almost square-like jaw, and had the same green-hued hair that most everyone else on the island had.

"Oh? White hair?" She smirked. when she saw you. "The hero who stripped naked the head priests!" She roared in laughter, the other initiates slowed down their practice to curiously eyed you.

[Limited Fumble Rules]

Limited Fumble Rules
For D&D and Pathfinder this is more straightforward, but due to the fact that this is through a custom system (borrowing heavily from Pathfinder since I realized we're all familiar with it), progression ends up playing different in the Isekai RPG. Where in D&D/PF upon gaining a level you unlock new abilities, abilities are unlocked and trained for in the Isekai RPG.

Some people love fumble rules, and some people don't. For my view on it, is that fumble rules are there when someone is new to something, but go away eventually. This stems from the idea that a demi-god swordsman would drop a sword (without an explicit disarm attempt from the opponent), seems contrived. Realistically speaking, a 1 in 20 chance to do a complete failure when swinging a weapon for a demigod seems really high for an expert of their chosen weapon. However, when a user is brand-new to something, eg, a trainee swinging a sword, they will definitely make rookie mistakes.

To appease both crowds, in the Isekai RPG, whenever you are in the process of learning to use a new weapon, figuring out a new technique, unlocking a new feat, or are still nonproficient in an action, then on natural 1s for attacking purposes will invoke the fumble rules. Fumble rules may still occur even when you are proficient with the weapon potentially for a few encounters after. Once it gets to the point that it seems like your hero is skilled in that particular action, fumble rules will be dropped, as missing a target (without active prevention from the opponent, or if opponent is extremely low level), is already embarrassing enough for a true master.

Natural 1 and Natural 20 Skill Checks
Like with the ruling I did for most/all my previous D&D/PF games, Natural 1s are not automatic failures in Skill Checks. Likewise Natural 20s are not automatic successes either. It may influence description, but success or failures are strictly on the DC.

You had dreams about the pink-haired being who called herself Erato. It was peaceful as you simply watched things together in her personal bed-turned-cinema. But eventually you stirred awake.

When you opened your eyes you found yourself lying on a comfortable and soft bed, though, it wasn't Erato's. The room you were in looked completely different, and there was a distinct smell of pine in the air. There were a variety of swords showcased on the walls, and there was a tattered remains of a portrait with sword slashes through out it that was hanging on the wall. There was also the skin of something that looked like a cross between a bear and a wolf that was decorated and seemed to have been used as a rug on the floor as well. Apart from that, there was a table, a chest, a shelf with some books and decoration in it, two cabinets, and two short tables on either side of the bed. One of the tables had a lamp that was burning, giving a warm glow to the rest of the room. Lastly, there was a chair placed near the foot of your bed.

Seated on that chair and fallen asleep was the soldier who had killed Klein. She was resting her head and arms at the foot of your bed. She was breathing peacefully, and was fast asleep.

There was a window as well, and looking through it, you noticed that it was dark out.

The world seemed to move, that, or you were slightly dizzy. You were suffering from a light headache. There wasn't any other symptoms however.

You saw Nyx at the foot of your bed, still soundly asleep. It would have been a fine morning, if not for the pounding headache that assaulted you.

"There we go..." There was a snapping noise, followed by clicking.

"That's look good. Oh! A girl too? Even better. She's asleep?" There was a laugh. "Wake up!" There was a slapping noise, and all of a sudden you stirred awake.

Leering above you looked to be a large fat man, the slapping noise you had heard earlier was him slapping your face.

Around you, you noticed wisps of light vanishing. They were coming from a variety of runes that were circled around you. As time went on, the light continued to dissipate.

Along with the man who had slapped you, there were others there. There were some armed men wearing swords, but they wore an outfit that reminded you of something old German soldiers used during WWII. However, not everyone was dressed in that way, there was even a man wearing a robe and wizard hat, who had a staff on him as he peered at you. The large and fat man who had slapped you, on the other hand, was one who looked like he was dressed better than the rest of the people there, sporting an old-style suit.

Uptight, shrewd, and unforgiving are just some of the terms that others would describe Sanja. Though in some ways they would be right, it comes mainly from how others see her as and not necessarily how she feels about herself.  She's quick to point out flaws of others even correcting them at times, which occasionally garners her the ire of her peers. She rarely gives any indication that she notices, and some may question whether or not she's simply ignoring their ire. Yet even with her seemingly insensitive responses, at times she would show an uncharacteristic display of empathy.  Going as far as to even surprise and shock some of her acquaintances.

Resolute in her thoughts and beliefs, she doesn't give in so easily though of course she knows when she made a mistake and fully accepts the responsibility of the reconciliation. She puts in a lot of effort to right any wrongs that she perceives, especially if they came from any of her own actions.

She does not easily relate to children or kids as she prefers adults. Children are sporadic without any clear indication of what they may do next. But she can't deny that something about children are appealing; perhaps their innocent nature.

That said, being in the US was at least more peaceful than being deployed.

"Here it is. The Church of the Light." The building before you was large and grand, with spires that reached high. It wasn't quite as large as the castle itself, though it was fairly large, and at the very least, seemed to have been more ornate.

"Our city Bremenburg, the religious capital of our country, didn't come with us during the shifting, or, when we were transported here, so this building represents the largest church we have in our country." Kurt narrowed his eyes.

"I think I see Father Barnabas." Kurt motioned towards the man sitting outside the church, in a very relaxed and calm manner.

The man seemed to be smoking something, creating smoke rings in the air. He looked completely relaxed.

You had been deep into meditation, or at least what you thought could be passed as such. The people around you were indeed trying their best to be quiet and silent as they went about their own preparations, but you could still hear them bustle around. You heard the jingles of pots and pans, along with the sound of pouring water at times. Sounds of quick chopping, then the sound of fire being created. Throughout it all you continued to feel the little girl's presence as well. She stayed silent, but continued to huddle close. Altogether, it was hard to concentrate at all.

Eventually, a familiar voice rang out, interrupting your attempt at meditating.

"Attention everyone!" Lai Fen said loudly who had climbed on top of a crate.

When you opened your eyes, you noticed that there were a couple of new faces in the group as well. Along with a few more men who seemed to gather around Wen Chaoxiang《The Silent One》. There was around 50 altogether who were in the room. Lai Ju was standing just behind Lai Fen to the side.

"First off, we lost a few of us earlier in the raid... I think you guys had been talking about it already, and there are a few who are still missing. I had both Eris and Han Tu continue the search above."

"Next, We have a new member, even if potentially temporary. Or maybe two..." Lai Fen said, pointing her finger towards both you and the little girl beside you.

"We all know Fred. But the little girl beside him, for those who weren't with us on the raid, is one of the daughters of the ex-emperor. Her name..." She paused for a moment.

"Hey kid, what's your name?" She asked, not expecting any sort of answer. Indeed, the little girl just seemed to huddle closer to you.

"Well kid, til you give us a name, we'll call you Mei." Lai Fen said simply, rolling her eyes.

"Eris and Han Tu have also reported that the rest of the royal family had been hunted and killed once we let them go. The rioting up in the city is still fairly bad, and from the report, a good chunk of the city is already up in flames." Her eyes fell on the little girl.

"That said, the kid, Mei here, will be the newest member of the Dark Ravens until we can find a place for her once the fighting's calmed a bit, so everyone, I expect you all to make her feel comfortable."

She paused for a moment, looking at each and everyone of the members of the Dark Ravens.

"The last announcement is that I'm stepping down as the leader of the Dark Ravens. The replacement..." Then finally having her gaze fall on you. Before your eyes, the title that once adorned her as Lai Fen 《Leader of the Dark Ravens》, changed into Lai Fen 《Dark Raven》

Once the white light vanished, you found yourself in a completely different place than before. There was no more towering being, no more goddess, and the ocean floor that served as the only ground you stood on for what seemed like months was gone. Instead, floating islands covered your vision, while you yourself looked to be in some sort of old structure, with various pillars and arches circled around you. Familiar runes were around you as well. The same kind of magic that you remembered seeing the first time you had been summoned.

You were completely soaked wet.  You still kept with you the bag that housed the book of the Old One, and still clutching to you, was the tentacle girl, who looked as surprised as you were. At the same time, there were 6 tentacles summoned around you, ones of the smaller variety, being only 10 ft. long in length. However, they looked different than the ones you remembered. They had a slightly shiny sheen to them, almost metallic. And one of the tentacles even seemed to change the shape of its tips.

The entire thing was similar to the first time, except for the fact that you had been on your back the first time. And instead of a certain red-robed girl with a staff, in front of you was a variety of green-haired people, wearing brown robes. From old to young and men and women. There was about 10 of them altogether.

One of them took a step forward.

"Welcome summoned he- What is th-..!" Before she finished, the 6 tentacles around you immediately grabbed on to her. The tentacle girl too, who was behind you, eyed her eagerly, though her own tentacles were wrapped around you still.

It was all too familiar.

In fact, you found yourself in something more closer to a dark room. There was hardly any light, but there was enough to get an idea of how the place looked. There were various crystals embedded into the walls that gave off a faint light, but most noticeably, on one of the walls itself was something that looked like glass, or a mirror. Except instead of reflecting what was around you, seemed to depict some sort of small cavern.

You were lying down, on your back, and above you looked to be a girl, dressed in blue, with crystals in her dress and outfit that were similar to the ones embedded into the walls.

You stirred awake, the first thing you realized was that you weer sitting on something absolutely soft and comfortable. You felt a warm and cozy heat too on your face, and when you finally opened your eyes, you realized that you were in a room lighted by a fireplace that burned nearby. The heat felt warm and comfortable to you, as the flickering flames gave off an orange glow to the rest of the room. You yourself was sitting on a comfortable couch.

On the table in front of you looked to be various types of confectioneries. From cakes, sweet breads, to chocolates of all sorts. The display was spectacular, to yours it seemed like each food there was exquisitely created. Almost as if they were pieces of art themselves. It paled in comparison to the gourmet foods that you had eaten during the last week.

"Hello!"

The girl who spoke was rather short. But her breast were huge. She had two ponytails on either side of her head, with blue ribbons that tied them together. She wore a form-fitting white dress, though that looked like it was too small for her, or perhaps was a miniskirt. A blue ribbon tied to her neck accented the entire look.

You were vacationing to France with one of your friends. Your friend had actually managed to randomly win a lottery with "a free trip to France with a friend", so naturally, she had chosen you; her best friend, to accompany her for the trip.

You had just come back to the hotel from a day full of sight-seeing and visiting various pastry and cake stores, so the two of you were rather tired and exhausted from the adventures. Today would mark your last day in France, sometime tomorrow afternoon was when you would be taking a flight back to the US. It was bittersweet, visiting France was more interesting than you thought it would be. And the lottery that your friend won happened to include a lot of gourmet and specialized chocolate restaurants as part of the winnings.

Your friend, Chloe, plopped face down on the couch.

"Char, that was tiring... I can't believe this is our last day though, you know? One week full of sweets and chocolates..." She paused for a moment then giggled.

"I'm going to have to check my weight when we get back... Which reminds me! We have that random slice of cake the last restaurant gave us. I swear that manager did not like Americans!"

"It's either a late night snack, or breakfast!" She laughed.

Soon enough the remaining Valkyrie began their retreat. What was once 300 Valkyrie remaining in the Hiedelswatch keep, now only numbered 80. All of the remaining surviving Valkyrie were injured or wounded in some way, but they fled with as much haste as they could southwards towards where the queen was to come with reinforcements.

The fires of Hiedelswatch continued to burn, making a natural barrier for the demons. The fires had quickly spread as well, and soon enough most of the fortress town was in flames. A couple Valkyrie looked back, sadness in their eyes as  they watched the fires eat away and what remained of their country.

Most of the horses pulled wagons behind them, carrying the ones who were most injured, along with trying to fill each of the wagons with as much Valkyrie as they can.

Eydis made her way beside you, trotting her horse next to yours.

The ceremony was held a short distance away from the campsite itself, though a noticeable path lead from it to the site. It was fairly secluded, with nature abound all around you. The peaks of Mt. Velothia was visible, you were certain that it was from somewhere high up there that you were first summoned.

There were still people gathering for the ceremony, the thing itself won't be starting for another 20 minutes or so. Valeriya beside you seemed nervous. But there were some other girls who waved at her, ones that looked a bit younger.

"Daughter, and hero Rosalie... The ceremony will be starting in 20 minutes... Are you two not yet dressed..?"

As the giant tentacle you summoned surrounded you almost as if in sadness, you felt the cold darkness of death approach. Your blood continued to pour out of you in abundance, and you knew you would fall into unconsciousness, then shortly after, death.

And soon enough that death did take you.



When you woke, you found yourself in underwater. In shock, you had breathed some in, but strangely you noticed that you were still able to breathe normally. The whole thing filled you with a sense of deja vu.

Beside was a girl, though her bottom half was nothing but an array of tentacles. Her skin looked soft and inviting, aside from the tentacles, she looked comely. Her face was scrunched up in confusion however.

"We're... back here."

She then turned towards you.

"That... metallic spider. You died?" Her eyes looked dangerously at you however. "But I have this form..." Her tentacles began to make their way towards you as she had an expecting smile, she looked almost eager.

For now, you do not recognize her.

The water felt cold. Absolutely cold. And the landing was pretty rough as well, as all your breath was taken away the moment you impacted the water. There were green-lights from the depths below that you managed to pick out. Tentacles that seemed to appear out of no where, or perhaps originated from the dark depths below, came rushing out as well.

They coiled around you then. Writhing and taking hold of you quickly, without giving you much time to struggle. In your almost comatose state, you couldn't quite pick them out either.

Then they started pulling you down as you began to sink even further and faster into the murky waters. You weren't quite sure how fast and how far you were being pulled. It seemed like everything was a blur. It was hard to gauge speed or distance, you just knew that you felt the waters continue to sail by. For some reason, the pressure on your ears or body didn't seem to change the deeper you went. Yet, you could tell you were being dragged further downwards at depths you never thought would have normally been possible without any equipment. The cold darkness of the ocean seemed to get darker and more foreboding.

There was no other light save for that emerald-green glow. The green light that was directly below you, seemed strangely to always just be within reach, but as you were pulled down, was always just slightly beyond you. It was almost as if the light was beckoning and calling for you specifically, teasing as you continued to sink faster and faster into the dark abyss of the ocean.

In what felt like just a few moments, you saw where you were headed. A stone circle was at the bottom, surrounded by various moving and coiling tentacles. These tentacles were the size of skyscrapers. It was hard to gauge, 1000 ft? 2000 ft? 3000 ft maybe? The source of that green light came from the very center of it. It was blinding. That source of light was at least the size of a football field, but you didn't have time to admire it as the tentacles nearby reached out and grabbed you, joining the ones that had already coiled themselves around you. Snapping and locking to your arms and legs you were then pulled directly into the light.



You woke with a start as a loud ringing sound assaulted your mind. You found yourself still underwater. Water rushed into your lungs then from the sudden shock of waking. It felt uncomfortable, and for moments after you had the urge to cough. Yet, even though it felt like you were drowning, for some reason your breaths came in and out as normal.

Around you, were various eyes that stared at you that covered the entire ocean floor. Yet, when you blinked, they seemed to revert back into regular rocks and stones. But not only that, the green light that surrounded you seemed to play strange tricks too. From the corner of your eyes you would think that something had swum by quickly, but when you had looked, there was nothing to be found. The ringing continued to surround you, and you felt an oppressive aura.

It was then that you realized a gigantic creature stared at you, some distance away. A strange green light illuminated just enough of the creature. Its eyes seemed to glow as well and it stared down right at you. The ringing sound continued to crescendo, it was painful. But through the pain you were able to make out what it was.

[spoiler]It was a giant creature. The bottom half of its face was nothing but an array of large tentacles. You could barely make out what looked like wings, or some sort of appendages on its back as well. Like the tentacles before, it was thousands of feet high. The distance in the water made it hard to correctly gauge the height of the monstrous being.

Beyond him looked to be tall structures, buildings perhaps.

The creature spoke then. But it felt as if the sound came from everywhere all at once. You thought you heard the voice earlier that day. The same voice you heard right before you had fallen into the water on the cruise ship.

Heading through the streets of Miyang city, you continued to hear the sounds of yelling, sword fighting, explosions, fires, and the wails of people throughout the city. Fortunately you managed to avoid the remainder of the Red Hand sect which had been looking for you. With Lai Fen leading the way, eventually the three of you, plus the royal child made it to a building that looked like it was near the outskirts of town.

Lai Fen peered in first, and seeing that it was clear, she ushered the rest in. After that, she closed the door, and went towards a cellar door, and quickly opening it, she began to climb down.

"It's just me, put that knife away." You heard Lai Fen say as she disappeared into the darkness below.

Lai Ju followed after, and glanced back towards you as well as if beckoning you onwards.
