Zallri watched as the woman scanned the ravine's walls, and decided to follow her as she kept watch for trouble for the woman.

Ludar had felt the need to keep his silence up till now. The sand and winds were not easy on an old dwarf's bones and how he yearned for a warm hearth and good cup of ale. Well all that aside his companions arguments were short lived and final an agreement had more or less been established. He nodded in agreement with those present and began to trek into the winds to follow the young paladins. After all one of the faith might need another who was to say for sure.
Hasabushi will be without internet for sometime unless something changes. In the mean time I will NPC Ludar. Just assume he will speak very few words and mainly cast spells to assist the party.
You continue north into the Pass, with the shifting directions. Just up ahead a narrow channel ahead forcing the walls closer to you on both sides. Yours just happen to make out a shadowed form moving along the wall to the north. Though its head is partially covered, there is no mistake that those are the features of a gnoll. You had just enough time to see the creature knock an arrow and prepare to fire.

The gnoll gave a vicious laugh, that sound partly animal mixed with madness. His draw on the bow was strong but just before the arrow was loosed, the string gave and the arrow flew wide. The creature seemed very displeased with bow, dropping it to the ground. The creature seemed displeased and moved backward, sliding west out of sight.

Seeing the gnoll up ahead, Annia started moving forward. It was probably a trap; a single archer firing towards them only to hide away a moment later. But to Annia, even if it was a trap or not, she was still quite curious to see what was just beyond the curb. Annia turned towards the centaur beside her.

"Want to see what two holy warriors can do?" She grinned as she drew her greatsword.
Move north 4 squares + draw greatsword as free action, then total defense, +4 AC.

Zallri smiled and nodded " they won't stand a chance." She said, her hammer and whiled at the ready as she followed, bringing up her shield invade of an attack.

Elwood noticed the group leaving him behind and picked up his pace to catch up to Ludar and Branwen; keeping an eye and ear out for trouble.

Gnolls. Vile creatures, gnolls, and not too smart, either, considering the brutally obvious trap this unfortunate one had attempted to lead them into. Though Branwen didn't care much that they ate humans and carcasses, and killed wantonly as they prowled about the land, the one thing about gnolls that she truly disliked was the smell. Beasts such as these were not quite known for their hygiene. And killing them only served to turn them into rotting corpses, which didn't smell much better.

But it was the lesser of two evils, she supposed. She advanced forward at a comfortable pace, seeming disinterested as she always did. She had figured that the bandits were after gold and treasure, but now she was wondering if these gnolls merely wanted to eat the merchant. Though of course, there was no guarantee that these gnolls even were the vagabonds in the first place. But that was truthfully irrelevant, at this point. Even if they chose to flee, they were unlikely to outrun a warband of gnolls with heavily armored allies in their party, so battle was inevitable in either case.
Branwen double-moves up at half speed.

Penalties are included in rolls, as always.

The two holy warriors push forward in preparation for whatever vile intentioned the gnolls had in store. Just as they proceeded north, the ground gave away underneath the warriors without warning.

As the ground started to give way, Annia did her best to attempt to avoid the fall, but it was too late as she found that there was suddenly no ground to keep her feet on. Within a moment the paladin found herself falling landing heavily into a pit. She saw the centaur come down as well, but luckily the pit was just large enough for the two of them.

The trap had proved to be successful and both Annia and Zallri had fallen into the pit. They had manged to only receive a few minor bumps and bruises. The two were in luck apparently in the haste to conceal the pit, the gnolls had left the ladder in place.
Annia and Zallri can spend a move action to exit the pit. The rest of the party can navigate around the pit, it simply slows your movement slightly.

(how can i climb the ladder? it's not made for centaur anatomy)
Throndir

Picking herself up, she dusted the dirt off her armor. Though she was injured, the wounds from the fall weren't so bad. She picked up her sword which she dropped on her way down. Glancing up at where they had fallen and ensuring that there were no gnolls looking down at them, she made her way to the ladder the gnolls had left behind. She glanced back at her companion Zallri and grimaced.

"I'd rather not leave you behind down here..." She looked doubtfully at the ladder compared to the centaur. "But I don't think the ladder would work all that well."

Burdenking

Zallri looked up and roughly judged how far down she had fallen. "I might be able to jump this." She said, crouching down and looking to Annia "Wish me luck." she said, then pushing up with her powerful legs.

Annia scrambled up the ladder with ease, and as is often rumored the Centaur's inhuman strength allowed it to leap from the hole unassisted, landing gracefully. The others began to move around the hole in order to catch up to the lead paladins.

The scent of dead flesh hung heavy in the wind, along with the usual dust and sand.

Ludar, began to pray to his deity, resounding his name at the top of his voice, in a rhythmic melody.
