Rei

Patrol
Noon

Combat seemed to be much too fast, for Rei to finish chanting her spell. Even as she had begun to cast the chant, the hyenas attacked viciously. She hadn't really experienced combat before, let alone know when was the best opportunity to cast her spell. One of the hyenas had rushed her, but it clumsily crashed into the side of the wagon. Elidia had taken action then, dismounting the front to aid Rei with the two hyenas which had decided to attack their wagon. Her ice spell was quite effective. She froze one of the hyenas to death and then wounded the other one. The hyena she intended to charm, was wounded and would likely resist the effects of her spell. While Elidia focused on the hyena still alive, Rei would turn her attention to the other wagon and focus her intent upon Hyena #2. She had already started the spell... Might as well finish!
Casts Charm Monster (Round 2/3)

Virgil shifts over towards the hyena attacking the horse and pulls out his rapier. He then shouts over his shoulder to the other cart, "Keep going!" He then swipes with his rapier at the hyena next to the cart. "GIT OFF MY HORSE, YA DAMN MONGREL!"

I missed but I needed to fix it for my own peace of mind.

"I SAID, GIT OFF MY HORSE!" Virgil yells again as his eyes flash with anger and he lets out a scream as he stabs at the hyena with the rapier.

Using my hero point because screw that hyena, I'm not walking back to town.

Mysticsage

As Virgil went to go stab the hyena in his rage the blade nearly goes over the head of the beast but at the last possible moment it was as if time began to slow down around him. In that moment, that felt like it lasted a lifetime, he could feel the air around him come alive with a strange energy along with a spreading heat from his back. His ears started ringing with what sounded like the sounds of a cheering crowd. This phantom audience cheers his name as if he was the lead hero in some big play. There even was a phantom spotlight beginning to form at the edge of his vision.

Virgil's fear was being converted to confidence some otherworldly energy that made it feel like not only that he was good enough to kill this thing but that he was made for the role. The energy surged force from the mark in his back at that moment like a wave and into his blade causing to come surging alive with mana. As if moving on his own Virgil felt a strength in his sword arm that he had never felt before.

"VIRGIL! VIRGIL VIRGIL!" the crowd cried.

That strength, along with the roaring of the crowd, made a sword strike that would have otherwise gone wide, be a fair distance, into a strong hit at the beast's vitals. As soon as the blade hit its mark, deep into the hide of the Hyena, the energy dispersed off his skin in a burst like water evaporating on a hot summer day as reality returned to normal.

--

While Virgil was busy dealing with Hyena at the front everyone else had the beasts in the back to worry about. The Hyena refusing to give an inch as it's companion gets frozen attacks the remaining horse getting at its throat with a solid bit.

The horse manages to stay on its feet but is bleeding badly from the neck. The woman screams as she sees the gout of blood and almost faints in the back of the wagon. Her husband cursing loudly, "Gods protect us!" He does his best to cover his face but it looks like one of the extra's in one of Thalia's plays as he gets covered in the spray of blood

At the same time, the last of the hyena's tries and fails spectacularly once again to snap at Rei falling prone in the process of the attempt.

Horse 2 takes 9 damage

With a final yelp cut off by freezing the air in their lungs Elidia manages to kill the rest of the beasts.  Though the sounds of the haggard whines and snorts from the two horses are less than comforting.

The horse attached to your cart is still laying down in a mixture of blood and dirt a dead hyena now partly sprawled on top of him.

Schnizzer

Virgil will jump off the wagon and fumble through his pockets and pouches and pulls out a potion. "Our horse needs help!" Hell try to pour the potion in the horse's mouth to keep it alive. "I'm not really a vet or a medic..."

While the horse did not fully buck as Virgil approached he was unable to calm it enough to get close enough to feed it the potion. Out of fear the beast's heart pumped like crazy causing the poor thing to gush more blood until Virgil backed away slightly. Unless someone can calm the beast properly it will be hard to give it a potion and from the blood loss fighting too much might end up killing it.

Schnizzer

"We need to do something to help it or it'll be a long walk back."

Virgil prepares to help someone try and heal the horse willing to use another potion if it would help.

Oath

Elidia approached the horse, a bit wary of its flailing limbs, but willing to see what she could do. "Easy boy. Let's get you checked out."

Elidia is approaching the horse, with care and trying to see if she can do something about the wounds.

Without a healer's kit, Elidia was unable to really do much for the wound, but by the efforts of the two of you working together, you managed to feed it a potion without it being able to kill itself fighting you. While it was not healed completely the worst of the wounds closed enough were you think you can get it up on its feet again.

Virgil spend your potion and roll for healing

Once the horse is standing again both Virgil and Elidia are covered in the horse's blood as if they had been sprayed with a hose. The stench of iron filing your nose and the back of the throat as over the past five or so minutes the blood of the various animals has been allowed to make a kind of crust on your body and hair. You hear the caw of crows as several large black birds circle the group in a tight circle though they do not seem willing to approach.
