"The goods we can salvage... As for the horses, not sure how far they ran off." He sighed but he began to pick up the various containers, at least the ones which had spilled. There were a couple that were completely broken though, and those he just left behind.

"Mind helping turn the wagon right side up?" The man asked.




If you don't have a dagger/knife, feel free to buy one and add it to your inventory, just manage your own Currencies tab for your purchases. Presumably someone hands you one.

Update your inventory sheet when able. You can roll knowledge (nature) or craft (alchemy) to figure out the shelf life of the Poison Sack. You can roll Knowledge (nature), craft (alchemy), or craft (armor) for information about the Chitin.

Virgil will help get the others to right the cart then recover the horses. Afterwards he hands the dagger back. "Thank you for letting me borrow this."

Venom sacks expire after 10 days. Poison needs to be extracted and bottled before then.

Update your inventory sheet to mark that the sack expires on day 16. If you manage to extract the poison before then, with a successful alchemy or survival check, I'll give you the details of the poison at that time.
Virgil's Craft (alchemy, chitin): 15
The chitin of the scorpion is hard. Through alchemy or potentially blacksmithing, perhaps a combination of both, you can turn it into chitin armor. It's not as hard as metal or stone, but can serve as some protection. The chitin itself has no shelf life and can last indefinitely.

"It isn't much... But I'd like the three of you to have some vals. Hopefully when we can setup a stall in the village, we'll get some sales then. Fermented shark meat is a delicacy in Dizara... Though, I suspect I'd get most of my sales in Orario, as that city is a coastal one..." With that, the man hands all three of you a bag containing 25,000 vals each.

Update your own inventory under Currencies tab with 25,000 vals.
"I'll pay another 10,000 vals to each of you if you can escort me the rest of the way back to your village. Don't want to run into anymore scorpions..." The man forced a laugh.

Virgil finishes loading the cart with pieces of the chitin and carefully stowing the venom sacs with his alchemy supplies. "Well, that won't be a problem. Let's make sure we got everything together and y'all can follow us back into town. No problem."

Day 6 - Later that day



"What'll we do with the horses? I see you have two... If we could latch one to our wagon, we could make our way to your village."

Taking the man's suggestion, eventually the horse was strapped in correctly.

The rest of the journey back towards the village, the man had been telling of his adventures in the last few weeks. Apparently he was a merchant based primarily in the Dizara region, far to the east, on the other side of the continent from Orario. He had taken with him a large amount of fermented shark from his business on the east coast that he trusted one of his relatives to manage since leaving. But thus far, haven't had much luck with selling the product in his journey through elven lands, the territory of Altena, and Meilstora. His last hope was Orario. Once there, he planned to attempt to start a business too.

He had apparently always had interest in Orario. In his youth he would fondly recall reading Dungeon Oratoria, a book depicting adventures of heroes against monsters. Although he was packing on the number of years, he still was fairly jovial about it.

Twh two of you manage to catch sight of two hyenas in the bushes lying in wait. But at that moment, two more you didn't see managed to dash out of the bushes.
Initiative requested. Map is going to be the bottom half of the ogres one.

Elidia to roll a couple fortitude saves from the poison earlier.
