Kayden nodded at your claims of a mobile fortress, though you weren't sure ow much of it she was actually believing. "I follow my superiors... As long as you can convince them, hero Diane, I will support you in however way I can."

Both Angwin brothers looked towards each other, then towards you. A moment later they awkwardly glanced at Kayden. The brothers moved almost in unison in their reaction.

"We have spare sets of armor and weaponry... They were supposed to be for the hero's use. But I suppose we will let the Chynance mayors use it as well." Kayden said, noticing the glance.

"Mhmm yes big sister Diane." Hunt said. "I can only use water magic though..." Hunt said hesitantly. "But I will do my best to learn everything else I can!" The boy announced.

Dian shrugs, "Look you have a certain amount of hand being tied, I understand that.  Trust me, it will take some development, but I can make it happen.  As for the armor, I would appreciate any help you can give the Angwins.  However, that is during the second phase of my plan and as such, it is not needed at this point."

Yawning, she turns to Hunt again, "Then what you will need to do is learn as much water magic as you can so that you can become the best battle mage using water you can.  I am not expecting you to have the full range I do, just learn what you are being taught, even if it only gives you knowledge of the magic instead of practical  use of it.  Any knowledge you can gain on how mages work in combat can make you a better soldier or even commander.  Let's not forget, I've died once already and as such, I can die again. So anything to put you ahead of things once you are on your own is best."

"And until you're a proper mage, eat healthily." Kenver said as he pulled one of the cooking potatoes from the campfire, and tossed it over to Hunt. "My brother and I are adept in both Fire and Air magic, so if it comes to water spells... You'll have to get tips from our hero, unless one of the knights are willing to teach you." Kenver meant the question for Kayden, but didn't really look at her. It told you things weren't completely blown over yet, but at the very least they were all sitting at the same campfire.

"I am compatible with earth magic, but it isn't something I've trained in. One of the knights here can use water magic... I can talk to him to see about giving Hunt some lessons."

There was a yell and scream, along with the baying of horses. A moment after that, another yell was heard. When you looked over you saw three plant-like creatures at the edges of the campsite. Two knights seemed to already be grappled and wrapped up by vines from the plant creatures, along with one of the horses.

Quickly finding her feet, Diane pulls her shortsword and growls, "I guess it is time make it rain fire."  Muttering the spell she sighs as she gets a bit more tired, "Fire, that which cleanses and burns, that which makes way for renewal. Flame sword!"

Once her sword is alight, she moves towards the nearest plant and once she is clear of other fighters she incants the next spell, "O Fire. Heat from the origins, may it heat, boil, and burn all. Cloak of fire!"  Once the cloak forms around her she smiles grimly, "Let's get this over with."

QuoteThe nearest plant is either the one to the north or the west, both at equal distances. I'll just pick the one to the north out of a whim. I'll just be paraphrasing the two rounds. For exact happenings, check the Combat Log below.

Flame Sword
Attack: +4
Damage: 1d6 +5 piercing+2d6 fire

You cast your flame word spell and began to move northwards as both Hunt and Kayden went forward too. Hunt had fired his crossbow, but missed.

The plant creatures brought a night to badly wounded, while the knight to the north had been knocked unconscious and was dying. The horse to the north east was now too dying.

The rest of the knights started to move forward and draw their blade as well. Those that were near enough had attacked with their blades.

Kenver and Maban launched into spellcasting. They both used the same Fire Arrow spell as before. Kenver managed to hit, but Maban missed. When the fire struck the northern plant creature, the fire didn't seem to deal as much damage as you would have expected.

Moving into tange of the plant Diane does her best to keep other members of her group out of range if her flame cloak and swings her shortsword at the plant, taking care to not unbalance herself while surrounded by flames and holding a flame shrouded sword.

Shaking her head she sighs, "A laugh a minute around here."  moving into range of the next nearest plant creature she takes care of the positions of those around her, trying not to burn them
As she moves into range she attacks with the shortsword again.

Charging towards the next closest plant creature, you noticed there seemed to be a glow in your hands and arms briefly. Though, looking at it again the glow would disappear, as if it was a trick of the light or some other phenomenon.

When you reached the plant creature, it's long arms struck out to attack you. The vine-like appendages snapped into your skin and clothes, and it hurt like hell. With your wounds from earlier that day form the ogre, you were now badly wounded. Luckily, as the vines started to wrap themselves around you, you squirmed out of the way enough, then managed to attack. Unfortunately, the blade did not pierce through. At the same time, you notice your cloak's fire greedily attempt to eat the plant's vine. You saw the flames engulf parts of the vine, however, the vines themselves seemed to be fire-resistant in some way, and didn't look like they were affected.

Kayden charged with you as well. The moment your flames hit, Kayden too brought her greatsword in a downwards chop, managing to hit, and leaving the plant creature injured.

Hunt from behind shot off another bolt, unfortunately, he missed again.

The plant creature brought down its vines on you. You managed to duck from the first blow, but that left you wide open for the second one, as the vines struck you. You were looked near death, though still conscious.

The other knights began to surround the plant creature.

Kenver and Maban, seeing take the hits from the plant creature, switched targets to take down the one you were attacking. They both used the Gale Shot spell. Kener managed to hit with his, but Maban missed. The plant creature was now badly wounded.

"Should have seen that coming," lifting her right hand she aims her palm out towards the plant.  "Fire in the hole!"  Casting the lightning burst spell, she enchants it quickly, "Fire and air brought close bring down the wrath of the storm! Lighting burst!" Overcharging the spell she pins her hopes on it.
