"A kinship with animals..." Maban looked towards you thoughtfully. "The magic we are blessed with by the goddesses help us control the elements and fight our foes. But magic that aids in taming... I do not know. However, I did manage to speak with travelling mages passing by Chynance, for any stories they're willing to tell in exchange for stories of my own world. There was one particular mage here who spoke of a practice called 'totemism'. Practiced by a village at the northern edges of the Felencorp United Alliance. Apparently they have wild beasts with them, but also are able to take aspects of their beasts too. I wasn't sure how much of it I believe to be honest, but with how little I know of this new world, I'm not so closed off in my view that I wouldn't consider it a possibility."

The knight grinned as he thumped his chest. That action however, caused him to wince in pain. "A bit sore me' lady, but fine enough... I heard you helped patch me up too, well uhh... wanted tae thank you for that."

Anima mea

Nodding to Maban, she cracks a smile, "My people had totems at one point, although, our beliefs about them were more spiritual than anything else.  Also, I gained a level, might be best to check that out and see if I need to allocate more stat points or got new abilities."

Smiling at the knight, "You folks have helped me stay alive and travel since I came to this world, helping to patch you up is the very least I could do in return.  I'm glad you are doing better.  You get some rest as you can and we'll see if maybe you can teach me something and I can teach you something.  How does that sound?"

She takes a deep breath and speaks the word that she's learning carries so much meaning, "Status"

Throndir

The knight grinned at the offer. "Sure me lady. I'm pretty handy with the sword... Been in this war for two decades now!" He said trying to be light about it.

The status menu popped up.

Anima mea

Focusing on the plus sign next to her wisdom score Diane adds the unallocated stat point to wisdom.  This done she looks at the knight with a grin, "My grampy always said to learn from any and everything you can.  I think you are certainly someone I can learn from."

Looking at Kenver she smiles, "You managed to recover fully yet?"

Throndir

As expected, your Wisdom score went up. After that, the '+' signs disappeared, along with the notification saying you had 1 unspent ability point.

Kenver nodded sheepishly. "After fainting last night, I woke up this morning refreshed... After a night's rest, it's usually enough to recover all your spent mana." Kenver explained. "I wasn't able to show you any magic last night thanks to those plant creatures..." He said offhandedly.

Anima mea

Diane smiles, "At least you are ok, that's the important thing.  Besides, I am wondering if I could teach you some.of the spells that came to me in the midst of combat."  Looking down at her hands, she let's her mind wander.  Coming back to the moment, Diane looks at Kayden, "Once we are in New Binmoor, what are the odds, Hunt and I could wander a bit and let me get the city under my belt so to speak?"

Throndir

Kenver's eyes brightened up. "Well... having you teach us isn't something I expected... But what the hell, sure. Maybe when we have some time you can show me what you mean."

Kayden paused for a moment as if consideong how to answer you. "Yes... Hunt and you can of course explore the city. Though, I would request that I accompany you. Hero Diane, you are an important person to our country. One in millions. I would much prefer if you had a guard around as you go about the city, and as much Hunt is learning to be a swordsman and knight himself, he has much more learning to go."

Anima mea

"Well, this can't be a one direction teaching situation.  So, maybe I can teach you my lightning spell or ice claws."  Smiling, she makes clawing motions at Kenver and Maban.

Turning to Kayden she shrugs, "How about I consider the extra guard after an outing or two?"

Throndir

Kenver nodded having seen the spell before. "Then my lady Diane, you'll be the one to show me magic." He said giving you a sly wink.

"Very well... as long as Hunt stays with you at all times." Kayden said, momentarily eyeing Hunt.

Anima mea

Winking back at Kenver, Diane has a look on her face that can only be called conspiritory.

This done, she turns and levels her gaze at Kayden, the smirk recently on her face sliding away for a moment before she turns to Hunt, "Yeah, stay with me!  Wouldn't want s girl from a noble house to see you,  grab you and take you back to their manse to begin negotiating for your hand in marriage!"  Overall the tone of her voice is playful, but the body language and the undertone of her voice have dark notes in them, almost as if daring someone to say something.

Throndir

Hunt flushed slightly when the attention turned to him. "Oh... umm... father tells me I need to seriously consider things like that, but... But I think I'll be happy just being with you big sister Diane!" He said cheerily.

Anima mea

Smirking at Hunt's comments, Diane chuckles,  as she looks at Kenver and extends her hands.  "Well, most of works for the ice claws spells is visualization of the ice forming over your hands in such a way that your hands and the claws function correctly.  That and you have to be able to use water and I think air."

Throndir

Kenver shook his head. "Unfortunately... I'm only skilled in Fire and Air magic. Water is beyond me... but being able to merge the elements like what you've done so far isn't something more people can do... granted, most people can only use a single element. Hmm... is there anything that works for Fire and Air?"

Anima mea

Diane goes silent and considers that for a moment.  Standing up, she turns and looks around for an area she won't harm someone else.  Seeing that that isn't something doable she extends her hands to the sky, letting her mind free to think.  She stops moving, even breathing for a moment.  And then she begins to incant a spell, "Air and fire, codependent, come together and show your rage!  Combust!"  Picturing the image of a combustion explosion in her mind she directs it out of her hands into the air, hoping the spell, if it goes off, doesn't set anything on fire, or through the force of the combustion break any trees.

OODM
Possible elemental fusion combinations using Fire and Air are:

Lightning, Tier 2 requirement
Plasma, Tier 2 requirement
Sky, Tier 2 requirement
Smoke, Tier 2 requirement

Another option is going about this through the Sound element, just by using Air, also Tier 2. Then with Fire for the explosive effect.

Lastly, this is reminiscent of a dust explosion, which can be done with Earth and Air. Then with Fire for the explosive effect.

Unfortunately most elemental fusions have a tier 2 requirement, and you've used both your slots already.

Although the words came to mind, when you attempted to create the explosion, you felt a tiny surge of mana along with the spell just about to be formed, but it fizzled out. You found this attempt much more difficult to do than your previous attempts.
