Kayden nodded approvingly. "Great, New Binmoor was the original destination that I had in mind once you were done here in Chynance. With your support, the two mayors would have to abide by your decision as well. Are you prepared? Both the mayors are already in the carriage waiting for you. Otherwise... We can have you try riding one of the horses too, if that isn't something common in your own world."

As Kayden was speaking, a new notification appeared before you, seemingly out of the blue.

You have gained a new title 『Ownership Upgrade Point Generator』
You have gained +2 CHA
At that moment, another green window appeared, this time with the names of your comrades listed.

Daily Point Generation Sources
Daily Income: 10
Kayden Ainsworth: 9
Kenver Angwin: 6
Maban Angwin: 5
Hunt Holton: 2

QuoteFor balance reasons, I'll let you train on only one thing at a time, just mention what it would be. You seem to have some choices currently:
Light Armor training
Mana Transfer training
Ride skill training

Diane looks at the carriage and one of the horses.  Smiling, "I Think it is time I learn to ride a horse.  I haven't ridden once since I visited the reservation where my mother's family was from.  So yes, let's get on the riding!"

Before hand though, "I need to allocate some points.  Status!" Once the menu comes up she focuses on the charisma stat and imagines using the three unused points to raise her charisma. This done she smiles at Kayden, "Let's see if these horse likes me."

Throndir

Your CHA stat increased by 3 points. After that the notification you had available points remaining disappeared.

Kayden grinned as well, perhaps the first time you've seen the knight smile, and with that lead you to the horses themselves. There was one specific horse that Kayden lead you towards, one that was apparently brought along with the intention of being your mount. It was a black-haired horse, that was large and heavy, at least compared to the horses that were pulling on some of the wagons. Kayden explained that this was a particular breed of horse that wasn't native to this world, but had become quite reliable in their use and had good temperment. It was around this time that Hunt started to follow you around as well, explaining that he had completed his work with the mayors.

Whether or not you had knowledge of horses or of riding in your previous world, Hunt would help you into the saddle, as was the duty of being a squire. After that was done, Hunt climbed on top of your horse as well, sitting behind you.

Soon enough, the group started their journey towards the north-west, their destination: New Binmoor.

QuoteEach day we have a free 8 hours of training. Anymore training beyond that, you will need to roll a CON check to determine if you are fatigued/exhausted. Normally a training session lasts 2 hours, and can be done by rolling a Training check. To make most of your 8 'free' hours a day, ensure you train something daily.

A training session is normally 2 hours, but can be increased or decreased, which will give you a bonus or penalty to your Training check. At your current Training check score, it's best to do 2 hours for now.

Normally you will decide how many session you do, and how long each session is, but to simplify, go ahead and roll me 4 Training checks, at 2 hours each, totaling 8 hours. That would be 1d20+5.

As they approach the horse she smiles and reaches out to lift her palm in front of the horse's nose and stands still, letting the horse get to know her scent.  "There ya go, take a good smell of me, I want to have a nice long relationship with you.   So let's start off right."

QuoteI'll be treating your +2 roll above as a straight CHA check, as Handle Animal is not a skill you have any points in.

You have gained a new title 『The Charismatic』
You have gained +1 SP

The horse made a neighing sound, but didn't seem to mind at all as it sniffed the offered palm.

"His name is Shimmer. A warhorse that's gone through a couple of skirmishes." Kayden said as she nodded. "Ever rode a horse?" She asked a moment later.

The next 8 hours was spent with you riding the horse. It felt awkward to you, but surprisingly you didn't lose your balance at all. Ever since you had come into the new world, you felt stronger, and faster, Of course, it helped that the horse was trained and was good-natured.

Diane, despite having not been in the saddle in while, actually starts to relax as she rides on.  She pats Shimmer's neck gently, "You are a good one to be sure.  I would like us to both retire to a farm somewhere when this is all over, I can build a big barn for you, get you some company.  How does that sound?  We can maybe even get you a lady friend and you can have some foals.  I can set up a workshop near enough the barn so that when we take a break for meals I can come visit you.  We can maybe even have Hunt and the Angwin brothers.  We could even have Kayden visit us, well, when she's not busy with her duties.  What do you think of that Shimmer?"

"Kayden, could ask a favor of you? While we are riding, could you teach me about the social situation in the Felothian kingdom?  And once I get a grasp on such, could you start teaching me the politics of the kingdom?  I know it will probably require you to be patient, but I want to know what I am dealing with.  Also, is there a way to take prisoners and put them to work, a way to work off some of their time working in a workshop with me?  That way I could perhaps give them skills in a new line of work, put prisoners to work improving the country and well, improve the country and later the world."

The horse neighed happily, you weren't quite sure if he understood your words, but you spoke gently enough, along with your pat on its neck seemed to make the horse more at ease.

Kayden nodded when you asked about the country. "I'm glad you call it the Felothian Kingdom, in truth, ever since the country adopted the named of the 'Felencorp United Alliance', it's... different than what the stories I read about growing up. Rather than a kingdom of men and knights, the Felencorp consists primarily of disjointed countries and villages, ruled together by a plutocracy, comprised of wealthy merchants and traders. Though, this country originated from Felothia, close to a third of the ruling council doesn't have ties at all to the kingdom of a century ago. Thus why they've opted to call themselves the alliance, in order to better unite the various micro countries and villages under a single banner. None of the three original kingdoms on this continent fared well in the war with the demons... I'll speak to you about them during our ride. Both the politics of this country, and the social situation."

"As for the prisoners... That is an intriguing idea... Currently any prisoners we have are simply sent to the frontlines, though, if they survive a few tours, depending on the severity of their crimes, they are promised freedom. That sort of decision isn't up to me, but up to my superiors, the country, and likewise the merchant council that rules the country. They prize usability and one's talents, if you are able to show and convince the country that they can be of better use to the war through your methods, then they will likely consider it."

QuoteAgain for balance reasons, I can't allow training for more than one thing at a time, but I'm thinking of making this into a possibility if you take some penalties to both sets of Training checks. Which you could do if you like. I'm still keeping your original Training rolls above, but your options now expand to the below. Unless otherwise mentioned, I'm still assuming your 8-hour ride, was still for the Ride skill.

Light Armor training
Mana Transfer training
Ride skill training
Knowledge (nobility) training
Knowledge (local) training

The caravan continued to make their way to the town, though, eventually they stopped to both recuperate and heal their injuries from the fight with the ogres. It was still in the afternoon, with the sun still out, but the horses were tired. Morale was still pretty good however, considering that no one had died in the ogre ambush earlier.

QuoteYou are now at a campsite, feel free to state anymore actions you plan to do. If you plan to do training, roll a CON check for each Training roll you do. And state what particular thing you plan to train.

Diane, once she makes sure that everyone is safe, she walks over to Shimmer and puts her hand on the horse's head lightly.   "I know you were bred and trained for, but I am sorry my inexperience got you hurt.  I give you my word that I will do better at keeping us both in good shape."

Patting the horse's nose gently, she turns and noticed Kenver.  Walking over to Kenver she pats him on the shoulder.  "I gave to thank you,  both of you, for showing me that spell, well after a fashion.  Regardless, thank you for showing me the fire arrow spell."

Throndir

Shimmer neighed as he laid on the ground. Hunt, with Kayden's guidance, had already started treating the horse, cleaning the wounds, as well as making an attempt to bandage them. Other than letting time heal the wounds, that was the most that could be done.

Although they looked identical from each other, you eventually started realizing that Maban was just a bit more softly spoken than his brother Kenver. Kenver on the other hand, was just a bit more sharp in his intonation. "No kidding! It's pretty amazing that you're able to cast the spell just from seeing it once. It usually takes a few weeks." Kenver said, a faint blush on his cheeks when you neared him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Perhaps I can show you more magic tonight?" Kenver said teasingly as he grinned.

Diane smirks, "Finally!  Some innuendo in this world!  I thought I was going to have to behave all the time." Although her reply was more relief than anything, she does have a flag trigger in her head about potentially hurting the boy's feelings.  Deciding to take it as it comes, she smiles, "I am not sure I could learn much as far as practical aspects, but I would love to hear the theory.  I can't rely on luck to get me through it all as I have been so far. Althoughm, I am starting to understand that I will need to learn to heal people, as well as, harm or even give them buffs.  So what is it that you can teach me about healing spells?"

Throndir

Kenver laughed. "Honestly with how you've been able to pick up spells so easily, I'm not sure how much I or my brother would be able to teach you. There are a few mana manipulation techniques that we do know though. As for healing spells, those are from the element of light, and it's an element that is rare with only a few people every few centuries would ever hope to have. As it is now, the only way for wounds to heal is simply treating them, and making sure the wounded can rest well."

Anima mea

"I could use mana manipulation techniques.  And what would it take to work out if I could use light as an element?  I want to try to learn as wide a variety as possible to give me tools that I can use to help save this world.  Also, I tried to use dark as an element yesterday and it said it was locked.  How can I unlock it?"

Throndir

"The elements one can work with, is usually determined at birth... For example, I can use the elements of Fire and Air. While my brother can use Fire and Water. Generally, most mages out there can only use a single attribute. There's fewer of those that can use two attributes like my brother and I. And fewer after for those that can use three elements. Apart from heroes, it's unheard of that anyone is able to use all four elements. Thus, the attribute of light is also something one is born with. There were... stories in this world of heroes of the past being able to use the light attribute... As for the darkness attribute, that's one thought to be used by the demons themselves. I wouldn't know how to go about 'unlocking it' as you put it."
