Oath

Before they got back to the camp, Rosalie spoke to the group. "Do not talk to anyone about what happened out there yet. If people knew that there were demons this close to camp, there would be a massive panic. We need to talk to the people in charge and plan a course of action before just saying hey guys, we killed some big demon." She looked to each to make sure they were on the same page, and proceeded on the way home.

When the group arrived back at camp, they had killed a boar on their way home. "Sorry it took so long, we found an injured traveler on our way back. She motioned to Amie, hoping that the knights wouldn't ask too many questions. "Has anyone seen the captain around? I'd like to check on him to make sure he's doing all right after that match we had."

Throndir

One of the knights nodded as he stared at the new comer.

"An injured girl in the forests, eh? Captain! Our hero found a kid lost in the woods!"

"Hey! The kid can hear you, you know?!"

Soon enough, the captain made his way forward. He still had some bandages wrapped around his body, but at least he wasn't on a stretcher anymore.

"Hero! Come join us around the bonfire. And what's this about a kid?"

Oath

"She might look like a kid, but she's pretty strong herself, she helped take down the boar no problem, even in her injured state. Rosalie did as she was told, and joined the men around the fire.

With the moon high above you casting its light glow on the world, the bonfire that the dragonknights had created only served to be a better focal point for the entire thing. The knights were happily talking, drinking, and eating.

Everyone in your group eventually joined the bonfire. The dragons with you reverting to their human forms as well for the occasion. All around you were many of the dragonknight trainees, along with the captain. Each of the knights were with girls seemingly from the ages of 10 to 16 at the very most. They were much the same size and height as Amie. Amie herself continued to scan at each of them.

Her eyes were one of confusion and a slight tinge of wonderment. Amia then tugged on Valeriya's clothes, who stood near her.

"Hey. Are the other girls...?" Amia asked, peeling her eyes from the sight of the girls laughing with their knight companions. Once she met Valeriya's eyes, the dragon girl grinned.

"Dragons? You bet, kid."

"You're shitting me." Amie replied, her eyes still wide.

"I'm not..." Valeriya responded.

"You know... Nevermind." Amia replied back, to which Valeriya grinned further and began to ruffle the kid's hair while she laughed.

"I know what you meant. And my answer is still the same. Yes. All the girls here, except for that chef, the trainer, Hertha, and our mage instructor, are dragons."

"Huh." Amie said absentmindedly as she stared out at the group again. "It seems... so much warmer here." Amie whispered to herself, but you managed to hear her.

"I need to get everyone to see this... I never knew dragons could be... Well... unlike dragons?"

As the party continued, Captain Charles nudged you.

"Hey so... Did you find a boar?"

Oath

"I told you Amie, you might be surprised. I don't know what kind of dragons you have seen, but nobody here is anything like that." The party went on, and Rosalie made more drinks for everyone with their new favorite spell. When Charles nudged her to ask about the boar, she motioned towards him. "About that. There's something we need to tell you, but we don't want to talk about it in front of all of the recruits. Could you step away with me for a bit?" Rosalie's voice was a whisper, just loud enough for Charles to hear over the other conversation but quiet enough to mix in with the words of others.

Throndir

QuoteCharles has a picture! And color change for his text. /salute to Charles for making the jump to Important NPC.

"About the boar? I noticed you didn't bring any..." He whispered quietly to you next.

"Don't tell me Valeriya ate it all? I once saw her eat a cow."

Oath

"Charles, come help me get some more drinks for the knights!" Rosalie grabbed him by the arm and drug him off towards the water supplies so she could brew some more drink.

When they arrived away from the bulk of the camp, Rosalie spoke again.

"So, when we went out of town to hunt the boar we found that girl, Amie, she was injured, and said that there was a demon. There was in fact a demon, it was bigger than anything I've ever seen but I don't want to scare all of the knights. I wanted to talk to the elder dragon too, and see what would be a good course of action but a demon this close to the camp seems like a very bad thing. Please don't tell the knights tonight, we don't need them to panic."

While she was talking, Rosalie was enchanting jugs of water to be jugs of wine.

Throndir

"Wait... Demons?!" He exclaimed. He quieted his voice a moment later, luckily, with all the partying happening, no one seemed to hear.

"You weren't even gone for that long, how many of them did you find? Did you... take care of it? The ones who patrol our northern borders... They would be the Hiersdvain Valkyrie... Hertha's people."

Oath

"It was just one. We had a lot of us and it was still a bit of a challenge to take him down, Amie is really strong, and we had three dragons with us. Do you have your weapon handy? I want to try something while we're over here that might give us the upper-hand in this battle. If it works, the other dragon knights will probably be a bit less scared when they find out a demon was close to camp." Rosalie wasn't positive that it would work, but she would do her best to give the dragon knights whatever they needed to become stronger.

Throndir

"My weapon? Yes..." From his back, he unhooked the spear he kept there.

Oath

Rosalie grabbed the spear and focused her mana on the metal point. "Oh Flames, Envelop my blade and guide my strikes! Enchant!" She then handed the spear back to Charles. "I think I might be able to enhance your weapons so that you guys can be even stronger. Not sure how long it lasts for though, so help me test it.

Throndir

"Oh... Strange... It felt warm when you were handing it to me. But the moment I'm holding it, it's cool to the touch." He began experimenting with the weapon swinging it around a few times as it made a trail in the night-time darkness.

As a test, Charles waved the weapon near his sleeve, and it took a moment, but his sleeve caught fire.

"Woops!" He laughed. "No worries!" He continued as he doused his sleeve into the nearest liquid - it happened to be the wine.

Which of course set his entire arm on fire.

His face drained of color.

Oath

Rosalie looked on at Captain Charles in disbelief. She willed as little mana into the spell as possible and took aim at the burning arm. "Oh water, gather and hold form, and follow my will! Water Bullet!

Casting the weakest water bullet possible.

attack roll:
Rolled 1d20+10 : 20 + 10, total 30
Damage:
Rolled 1d6 : 2, total 2

Throndir

Your spell completed, and the bullet of water shot out, drenched the man in water. Luckily the fire went out.

"Let's pretend that never happened..." He coughed. "But this will work... How do I keep it from burning everything else?"

Oath

"Well, for my sword, we enchanted the sheath with an ice spell, I don't think spears use sheathes, so we might need to figure something else out for you. As for this situation, as long as you don't talk about the demons yet, I won't tell anyone you caught yourself on fire." Rosalie had not planned ahead for what to do with the flaming spear, but it did seem that it at least would work which was a good first step.
