Oath

Rosalie looked on as her companions were injured and went down. "NO! IT WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS!" she looked at Braxton laying helplessly on the ground again and felt rage and mana bubbling through her. The mana felt as if it were about to boil over. She let out what seemed to be a primal shriek before regaining her composure and starting an incantation. "FIRE, AIR, WATER, GATHER AND BOIL OVER, RAIN FROM THE SKY AND END MY FOES! LIGHTNING STORM!! A rumbling noise pierced the sky and a cloud formed above the demon. Water started to pour and lightning strikes crackled from the sky, streaking towards the demon.

Rosalie is casting a new spell, Lightning Storm, and doing so defensively to avoid an attack of opportunity.

Your lightning seared through the skies, as various strikes struck it. Smoke came from its body as it crumpled to the ground, dead. Braxton was still unconscious and bleeding out. His armor was bent far into his body from the demon's pounding, on the places that it was exposed, a lot of blood was pouring out. Stasha transformed back into her human form, a young girl, and ran over to him.

Alyona stood behind silently just watching, though there was concern on her face. The injured girl looked grimly, but she shook her head. From her pack, she did pull out a series of bandages and what looked to be a bottle of alcohol.

"Healing magic is rare... It's from the Light attribute, but a caster of such is hard to come by. Perhaps once every few hundred years. I'm not sure if there's anything we can do for him... I'm sorry Stasha.

Oath

Rosalie pondered for a moment. If she knew what the magic was that the mysterious girl had been using despite it not being something that anyone else had seen, perhaps she could heal as well? She approached Braxton's broken form and got down on her knees, laying her hands across his chest. "Divine Providence, bathe thy lost lamb in the light of thy blessing and return them thus to the mortal world." She had no clue if her incantation would work, but she had to do what she could. It was her fault that he was out here.

Healed him for 46.
Suddenly your hands began to glow a white light, and Braxton's wounds started to close up. Everyone in attendance was staring wide-eyed at you.

"Rosalie, you..." She paused, her eyes fixed on Braxton and the light.

"Is that Light magic? No... that's different... "

Even the injured girl stared curiously at what was happening, putting her weapons away, vanishing in her hands, as she watched enraptured by the sight.

The light continued to swell, engulfing Braxton. And a moment after that, he coughed and breathed in deeply.

"What-" He began. Though he was interrupted by Stasha who gave him a huge hug.

"BRAX!" The little girl said as she sobbed.

Alyona sighed, and smiled happily. Valeriya shook her head in amazement. There was no sign of any wounds on him at all, even the blood that was there simply vanished.

"That's different magic from the usual... Who are you?"

Oath

"I'm not completely sure what it is.. but since arriving here, I've started to understand more and more about magic that is outside of what we've seen. I didn't know if it would work but I brought Braxton here and had to take responsibility. It was a long shot so I just went with what it felt like I could do." Rosalie turned to the mysterious girl and responded. "I am Rosalie, hero summoned by the Velothian Dragons, Might I ask who you might be?"

Throndir

"Me? I'ma Amie. But a hero, huh... Okay... You're coming with me back to my village." She stated. "If we leave now, we can make it... And..."

She pointed towards Shasta and Alyona.

"We can use those things to bring us there. Kinda like what... Braxton? Did when he rode on her."

Alyona puffed up her cheeks at being called a 'thing'. Stasha on the other hand was confused.

Oath

Rosalie paused and stared at the girl for a moment. "Hold on, Amie. Why are we going to your village? What's the problem and they're not things, they're people like you and me. We also need to take care of Braxton. Need to make sure he gets back to the camp safe."

She looked towards Valeriya, unsure of what to do.

Throndir

"No... You don't understand. Maybe... around two weeks ago the entire world changed. Didn't it change for here too? These forests were never this big. And are those not dragons? They're like pack mules. But they fly... No one in my village has a dragon, only the rich could afford them, but I know they did in the city."

"I had my horse with me, but that demon killed her." She said a bit more somberly. She then turned towards Braxton.

"Do you think you can let me ride along with you? My wounds will be okay... And my village will pay a lot... There's been demon sightings. I was following the road to the city to get help... But the road suddenly stopped."

"Anyways..." She then pointed a finger at your face. "With this crazy powerful self-proclaimed hero chick, we can totally beat them up!"

She then looked towards Alyona.

"Who owns her?" She asked, looking expectantly at Valeriya and Rosalie.

"And where's their collars?"

Oath

"So funny thing, Amie. I've only been here for a few days myself. I was in my own world, with none of this magic stuff and got hit by a a big vehicle, think of a very large wagon full of goods, but going faster than anything you've ever seen. All of my friends died, and I was sure that I did as well. I opened my eyes however, and I was here. and had abilities I would never have even dreamed of. This instrument on my back is the only thing left from my world. I don't know anything about where things are here, but these girls, none of them are owned by anyone. They're people. They are as free as you and I, each knows strong magics and helps defend the human race. While I'd love to help your village, first and foremost, I am beholden to do what I must to defend the people here. How far is your village from here? I'm sure that we can figure something out that will be beneficial for your people as well as mine."

Rosalie wasn't sure what this girl was talking about, but she seemed to have a large number of misunderstandings about how the people of this area lived their lives.

Throndir

"I thought that thing on your back was some sort of weapon... But no one owns the dragons? Aren't they... feral? I just assumed you placed some sort of obedience spell on them."

"Makes them... obediant."

"Kid... The hero, Rosalie, and I are companions. No one owns the us, the dragons." Valeriya said as she moved up closer and crossed her arms.

"Us?"

A moment later Valeriya morphed and transformed. Her large dragon eyes stared at Amie.

"Oh." There was a few moments of silence as Amie's mind started to race.

"Aren't we in Meldoran? Uncollared or unbound dragons are illegal... Unless..." She thought for a moment. "Instead of the world changing around us... we were sent to some place new? But that doesn't make any sense! No countries I know of have free dragons. And... you, you, and you." She said pointed towards Valeriya, Stasha, and Alyona. "Aren't acting very feral at all."

"Rawr."  Alyona said, rather unenthusiastically.

"Eheh..." Amie stammered. "Another thing, you keep going on and on about a hero." She turned towards you. "Have you done like... something amazing?"

"But if you're a self-proclaimed hero... Then you'd help us, right? It's about three days journey northeastwards... Near the mountains and ocean that suddenly appeared. But... With a dragon, we can get there much faster... When the roads ended, it became mountains and valleys, so travel was slower..."

Oath

"We are in Velothia, where the dragons live. It's a mountain. As far as I know. to the north is a land ruled by demons. Or at least they're the ones that have been fighting with the humans in this area. I am not a self-proclaimed hero at all. I was summoned here, by the dragons in some ceremony that made me stronger, faster, and more knowledgeable than I ever was in my own world. Before we do anything to help you, I think it would be best to take Braxton back to his camp, and speak to the elder dragon. Doing anything behind her back seems like it would be quite unwise, and she may know more about the situation than we do ourselves."

In a way, Rosalie was relieved to see that there was someone that was perhaps even more confused about the situation than she was herself. She understood Amie's concern for her village, but it seemed foolish to go  somewhere strange without any recuperation.

Throndir

"Velothia? I've never heard of that country."

"So... let me get this straight... You're an actual hero, like some super special person... That's... well. Well, I guess you have dragons without collars, I guess I'll believe anything at this point. Not to mention we're in a... Velothia?"

She looked concerned for a moment, but chose to banish those thoughts.

"And wow, an elder dragon. I've never heard of such a thing, the last one died out hundreds of years ago supposedly. But okay... If anything there are people back at camp? I think you're all we need to be honest... But I'll come with you."

Oath

Rosalie nodded. "I am indeed a hero, some super special person. I'm also new to this world and know nothing about it, so people are valuable. Everyone has something they can teach me. Braxton for example, though he is just a regular person knows more than I do about shooting a bow, everyone no matter how strong has something that they can show another, we shouldn't be so quick to dismiss those different from us as mere things. Valeriya, Alyona and Stasha all probably know things that neither of us know as well. If there are a lot more demons like the ones we just fought, and even stronger ones, we all need to work together, weak and strong, human and dragon to push them back. Maybe if you see how the dragons live, you'll change your mind about them. But for now, Let's get Braxton back so he can rest and we can figure out what we are gonna do from there.

It felt like Amie had good intentions, but she lacked any form of tact. All Rosalie could hope for is that her introduction to the dragons was better than her own introduction to the dragon knights.

Location: Mt. Velothia Camp
Date: Day 3 - 10 PM

Soon enough, the group decided to make their way back to the camp. The journey took another 2 hours, and it was already late into the night. Many of the knights were still up, and they had created a bonfire, they waived at you.

"The hero's returned with the boar!"
