《Chapter 4: Jean's First Death》
QuoteThis takes place before Chapter 1, it would be before all the stat upgrades, we can just figure out the modifiers for your skills if it comes to a situation where we need to roll.

The water felt cold. Absolutely cold. And the landing was pretty rough as well, as all your breath was taken away the moment you impacted the water. There were green-lights from the depths below that you managed to pick out. Tentacles that seemed to appear out of no where, or perhaps originated from the dark depths below, came rushing out as well.

They coiled around you then. Writhing and taking hold of you quickly, without giving you much time to struggle. In your almost comatose state, you couldn't quite pick them out either.

Then they started pulling you down as you began to sink even further and faster into the murky waters. You weren't quite sure how fast and how far you were being pulled. It seemed like everything was a blur. It was hard to gauge speed or distance, you just knew that you felt the waters continue to sail by. For some reason, the pressure on your ears or body didn't seem to change the deeper you went. Yet, you could tell you were being dragged further downwards at depths you never thought would have normally been possible without any equipment. The cold darkness of the ocean seemed to get darker and more foreboding.

There was no other light save for that emerald-green glow. The green light that was directly below you, seemed strangely to always just be within reach, but as you were pulled down, was always just slightly beyond you. It was almost as if the light was beckoning and calling for you specifically, teasing as you continued to sink faster and faster into the dark abyss of the ocean.

In what felt like just a few moments, you saw where you were headed. A stone circle was at the bottom, surrounded by various moving and coiling tentacles. These tentacles were the size of skyscrapers. It was hard to gauge, 1000 ft? 2000 ft? 3000 ft maybe? The source of that green light came from the very center of it. It was blinding. That source of light was at least the size of a football field, but you didn't have time to admire it as the tentacles nearby reached out and grabbed you, joining the ones that had already coiled themselves around you. Snapping and locking to your arms and legs you were then pulled directly into the light.

You woke with a start as a loud ringing sound assaulted your mind. You found yourself still underwater. Water rushed into your lungs then from the sudden shock of waking. It felt uncomfortable, and for moments after you had the urge to cough. Yet, even though it felt like you were drowning, for some reason your breaths came in and out as normal.

Around you, were various eyes that stared at you that covered the entire ocean floor. Yet, when you blinked, they seemed to revert back into regular rocks and stones. But not only that, the green light that surrounded you seemed to play strange tricks too. From the corner of your eyes you would think that something had swum by quickly, but when you had looked, there was nothing to be found. The ringing continued to surround you, and you felt an oppressive aura.

QuoteMental Resist Save requested, that is a 1d20+2 with your original stats.

It was then that you realized a gigantic creature stared at you, some distance away. A strange green light illuminated just enough of the creature. Its eyes seemed to glow as well and it stared down right at you. The ringing sound continued to crescendo, it was painful. But through the pain you were able to make out what it was.

Spoiler
It was a giant creature. The bottom half of its face was nothing but an array of large tentacles. You could barely make out what looked like wings, or some sort of appendages on its back as well. Like the tentacles before, it was thousands of feet high. The distance in the water made it hard to correctly gauge the height of the monstrous being.

Beyond him looked to be tall structures, buildings perhaps.

The creature spoke then. But it felt as if the sound came from everywhere all at once. You thought you heard the voice earlier that day. The same voice you heard right before you had fallen into the water on the cruise ship.

You managed to resist the assault on your mind the first time around. However, the moment you saw the giant creature, along with hearing its voice, you felt pain in your head. It was as if every nerve in your head was on fire. At the same time, you felt an encroaching panic well up within you.

You take 7 damage.

Jean gripped his head and howled at the pain.  Gritting his teeth, he yelled his question.  "What?  What book?  What do you want?"  He looked down, doubled over from his suffering.

Beside you something started to glow. It was the same book that you had been clutching when you fell off the cruise ship. The same one Steve had wanted to get his hands on.

The creature's eyes grew a fierce red at that moment, and it seemed to get closer. Your surroundings looked like it started to warp and bend around you. Tentacles had appeared as well. They started to coil, and looked as if they were about to spring on you.

You see the tentacles about to come at you. At first, it looked as if they were coming from the ground itself. But you realized that each of the tentacles looked like they snaked up further behind you from an outcropping of rocks. There was someone behind there, staring at you keenly, along with keeping a respectful gaze at the towering creature.

QuoteYour move right now, the tentacles are about to attempt to grab you.

Another Mental Resist 1d20+2 requested as well.

Jean saw the tentacles coming for him and dived for the book.  Snatching it off the ground, he raised it to shield himself.  "Wait!  What are you?  What's going on?"

You continued to feel the panicking feelings swell up in you, the tentacles that had been reached out towards you hesitated when it realized that you had noticed her.

The larger one repeated once you grabbed on to the book. You felt too the pain from before. You felt like you were going to pass out as your vision began to get blurry. You felt your knees buckle from the pain.

The larger one's voice had commanded.

QuoteYou're at 0/9 HP, Disabled, limited actions.

You saw then the tentacles move up to you as they began wrapping around you and the book you held. Strangely, the tentacle girl had a slight blush, though her eyes looked predatory when she stared at you. She licked her lips and nodded at the command.

The large creature began to speak again, and like before, you heard an intense ringing in your head.

You felt the pain to be too unbearable. Every time it spoke, it felt as if your mind was assaulted. As if the images were being forced for you to see, horrific images continued to flash in your mind. Images of being torn from limb to limb assaulted your mind. Drowned in blood. Tentacles being forcefully downed into your throat and piercing your body. Suffocation and death.

Then, when it felt like you couldn't take any more. You felt nothing at all. Your mind lost consciousness altogether.

You found yourself waking up then, still clutching the book in your grasp. Tentacles wrapped themselves around you, and you realized in horror that both of your ears were plugged up with them. The half-octopus girl from before 'stood' above you. And you realized you were laying in what could be considered her lap. Her eyes looked at you hungrily.

"Awake now?"

The creature began to talk again, and like before you felt the pain.

Jean couldn't think of what to say.  His mind was raw from the onslaught of thought and barely functioning.  He could only repeat himself.  "What are you?  What's going on?"[/color

Every word that came out of the large ones mouth grated on you. It felt painful as more horrors continued to assault you. When you finally managed to speak to the tentacle girl who held you, she only put a finger on her lips in a 'Shh' motion.

When it spoke again, you felt yourself losing consciousness just like before. It felt as if your mind was exploding. Like before, you completely lost consciousness.

Then, mere moments after that, you found yourself awake again, with the tentacle girl above you. You noticed that her tentacles were still plugged into your ears, and her blush seemed to even be more red. It almost looked as if she was enjoying herself.

"Someone that helps..." She tried to speak, but she seemed to be strangely hot and bothered about something, and you felt her tentacles coil around you tight. Too tight, and with her squeezing, did you realize that you couldn't really move. You felt a snap then. And you realized in horror that it might have been your arm.

QuoteAnother mental resist requested.

pringerbeam

Jean could barely feel anything with the endless stimuli assaulting his body.  Something in him knew though that something was terribly wrong when he heard that snap and he vomited.  The vomit had nowhere to go though so it simply dribbled down the sides of his mouth and back into his throat, causing him to gag and cough.
