Oath

After a brief and rather comfortable journey, you find yourselves at the small town of Foxhurst. They are not doing poorly, but you can tell that the quality of life is suffering a bit because of their troglodyte problem. As you ride by the townsfolk, it seems they know what you are here for. A look of hope is prevalent among most that you come across. The children run out into the streets with excited shouts, looking forward to seeing real adventurers. Foxhurst is not known for producing adventurers, they are known for furs. Currently you are here to help them fix a problem relating to that specialty, and you are led to the man in charge.

A rotund man greets you as you step out of the carriage that brought you here safely. He has a large smile, and he wears his emotions on his sleeve so to speak. There is no doubt that any sense of worry that he once had is starting to disappear at the sight of you and your companions. He tells you to call him Markus, and goes about his business explaining the finer details of the mission. The storehouse is located a slight distance from town, no more than a 20 minute walk. Markus wanted to escort you personally however, so he came here to meet you at the carriage terminal, a place that any horse bound vehicle stops in this humble town of Foxhurst.

Your short walk with Markus towards the storehouse is uneventful. He tells you what he can, which isn't much. He admits that he is no fighter, but has always felt the call of the merchant life much to the disdain of his parents who had been relatively well to do. As you approach what you assume to be the storehouse, you are surprised at how small it looks. Noting the confusion Markus points towards the ground. He tells you that the building is mostly just a base, the majority of the storage complex is underground. That explains why the troglodytes were attracted to the area at least.

Upon arrival to the rather modest building, Markus opens the door. This front room has been cleared out, and a staircase in one of the corners looks to lead down into the underground that had been mentioned before. As you approach the stairs, ready to descend into what you expect to be darkness you hear Markus calling out to you.

"I figured you would want a bit of light, so I braved up and put a lantern in the room at the bottom of the stairs, it's already lit. Those trogs don't seem to come to the front very often, which is fortunate for us as it allowed us to clear out quite a bit of our goods before you got here. Still plenty in the back though!"

You descend the stone steps and open the door, everything feels solid, while it may look simple you can tell the level of craftsmanship that went into this storehouse was high. Just like Markus had said, there was a lantern hanging on the wall along with an extra pint of oil just in case things took longer than expected. Looking around the room, there were two exits to this first room, one to the north and one to the east. Neither seemed to be doors, but rather archways. The one to the east looked as if it opened up into a hallway, while the northern arch looked to lead into another room.

The stench of trog fills the area, so at least you know that you are not being lied to about your purposes here.

Kin sighs, "Why's it always got to be in an uncomfortable underground area...first the temple, and now this." He shakes his head, but then realizes he has a new creature (and more importantly new weapon-style) to see. "Well, best get to hunting!"

And with that, he takes the lantern and starts to wander down the halls. However, realizing that he needs both his hands to use his favorite sword (the big one, OBVIOUSLY), he forks the lantern over to someone else to carry. "I'll be needing both hands soon, considering I'm leading." He states matter-of-factly as he does it, assuming that's more than enough to explain himself.

It takes everything he has to not call out to the creatures. He desperately wants to, but knows the others may bind and gag him for it. He's at least that aware of others' opinions. Not much more than that, though. Still, he squints his eyes, trying to get a better look further down the passage, hoping to find the trogs, or a clue as to where they are. Guess this'll have to do...

Ollete took the lantern from the man, smiling as she held it. she raised it up and lowered it, playing with the shadows that it casted all along the walls with glee. However, she stopped when she caught whiff of the trog smell " Oh wow, what is that smell....hope it didn't get stuck in the furs, or else i might just leave any extra stuff i find." She said at a rather normal tone, seeming not concerned with attracting attention or really unaware of her own volume.

She raised her Urumi up, a soft spiral of curved steel sharpened to cut flesh. She looked around the room and frowned "Hope there's enough room in this place to use my weapon. Kinda Cozy in here." she said, bumping her shoulder to Sophi as she passed, chuckling a bit as she moved forward, keeping her eyes and ears open for anything.

Sophie couldn't help but laugh a bit at Kin's complaint. One of the last missions she remembered embarking on included a hot, underground labyrinth of sorts. It had been absolutely stifling! She remembered it for other reasons as well, of course. Kin and Bran's bickering had been quite the show.

Sophie was all for taking the lantern herself, but one of their newest members, Ollete, beat her to it. As the jester passed, she bumped Sophie in a playful matter. The maid giggled, following behind her guild mates. "Hear anything, Mimic?" Sophie whispered as they moved forward.

Chadra didn't really know what was going on. She looked around in confusion as everyone talked and paid attention to things. She was so confused about what was happening. What were they all searching around for? She didn't want to voice her concern though. Chadra didn't even draw her weapon. She just stood there, arms limp at her side, waiting for something to happen.

Oath

After entering the storehouse, the party wasted no time in getting to work. Kin instantly went towards the northern archway with Ollete and Sophie in tow. Mimic perched on Sophie's shoulder. The party is proceeding with caution, and nothing in particular has happened. Looking around and keeping an ear out has resulted in no change. Not a sound can be heard, and nothing looks out of the ordinary. No enemies have been spotted. Kin, upon reaching the archway peeks into the next room. It seems to be the same length, but wider. It also seems to be empty.

Kin continues to walk directly into the center of the room, taking a good look around. Still no sign of the trogs...disappointing... He wandered around the room looking for any clue as to which way they may have gone, hoping to track them down.

"Where the hell are these things? I'm itching for a fight. Well, I'm ALWAYS itching for a fight, but this is business, not entertainment." He says this in complete seriousness. I still want to call out for them...Like "Where are you trogs!?" or, as I had it explained, "Come out, lizardfreaks!?"...Yea, that'd be great! gah, such a lame situation. I really wanna yell, but I REALLY don't want to be gagged.

Once again, anyone watching sees Kin in his signature mental turmoil face, which he shows when making even the simplest of decisions. You could only imagine it means trouble, and hope he holds back on his impulses a bit longer.

Carmilla, who had kept her distance from the group since the meeting with Markus, slowly crept out of the shadowed corner of the room that they had all just entered. a small sigh of disgust escaped her lips as she glares with intense annoyance at the all too excited halfling.
"If you don't calm his excitement we might be in for a very interesting turn of events in our near future. A turn of events that i... I mean we wouldn't have a lot of control over. The nature of me not have a certain control level in what happens makes me feel the slightest bit.... of anger...."
With the extra emphasis on the last few words she spoke she deathly continued to glare at the halfling.
She takes out her spiked chain and prepares herself for her prediction of the upcoming trog trash.

Oath

The party seemed quick to grow tired of Kin's ways, as Carmilla verbally expressed her displeasure in his actions, though it did not seem to have the desired effect. Kryas and Kin both kept an ear out, but they couldn't really hear much other than Kin's voice. The room that the Halfling had walked into was void of signs of life but there were various shelves around the room. From his current position it is impossible to tell what specifically could be on the shelves. As Kin shouts looking for an opponent, nothing responds to his challenge.

Ollete simply looked around the room, letting out a large sigh of boredom "I wonder where they are? they seem to not be home." she thought aloud, walking further into the room to examine one of the shelves for anything usful, picking up then throwing anything useless to her across the room with out a care of how noisy it was.

Carmilla moves up to be on Kin's right side just in case anything does decide to rear it's ugly head. She can't help but be distracted by the opening to the yet to be discovered darkness ahead. She keeps glaring in that direction to see if anything can be made apparent.

"Seeing as how i have better sight than MOST of you.... creatures...." She sends a quick glance at the halfling, "I'LL scout ahead. I might be an un-welcomed race compared to you all, but at least I have patience...."

She walks up to the new archway to peer through and see if anything can be heard over the halfling's ridiculous rambling.

Kin is completely oblivious to whatever insults have been said. Maybe it's because he's too used to hearing them. Hearing that she was scouting, and finding nothing truly of interest in the room, Kin ran over beside Carmilla. "Really, you can see well in the dark? Why didn't you say so!? Quick, what do you elf eyes see!?"

Not able to wait, however, he just decided to look himself.

Sophie was surprised at how quiet things were. Sure, they hadn't gone very far in...but where could the creatures possibly be? An odd smell, which she could only assume were the trogs, filled the area. Yet, they were nowhere to be seen. As they entered the next room, Sophie glanced around, curious as to what they would find. Ollete was quick to search the area herself, though. Sophie watched as the jester carelessly threw items aside. Although Sophie didn't approve of the behavior, she certainly didn't want to cause any trouble with her companions...so, she simply shrugged it off, casually searching around as well. Mimic sat on the maids shoulder, sending off a rather tense vibe. A thought came to the maid. "You don't think they could be planning to ambush us or something do you?" She whispered, quietly taking her place behind Kin and Carmilla. So far, nothing like that had really happened on Sophie's missions, but it was always a possibility.

Chadra was totally confused at this point. She blankly followed around Sophie and, by extension, the others. The cave didn't bother her too much, but the loud people did. She couldn't tell anyone apart just yet, except by the weapons the wielded. Greatsword was really loud, and looked like he might be short. Was he the leader? She tugged on Sophie's skirt.

"What... are we doing?"
