[Hanako] Chapter 13: Start of a Journey

As soon as Hanako saw the collars light up red, her mind raced to see if she knew what that meant beyond "something was happening".

"Trudy, shoot that asshole in the nice clothes." Hanako called out flatly, enraged that the bastard would turn on his collars in the midst of combat. Then she turned her attention to the slavers again, walking forward and beginning to cast again.

"Dark skies fraught with Levin's light, rend the earth with thunderous fury! BLITZSCHLAG!"

The spell was aimed in such a way, now that she could see where everyone was, that it would strike at nearly all the slavers while avoiding the collared individuals.

Trudy reloaded, then shot a different bandit, realizing that with Kari fighting, it would be harder for her to get a precise shot in.

Kari struck out at the slaver in front of her, downing him. However, she continued to slice at her victim, slashing another time, and instantly beheading the man.

The skeletal troll began to go after the collared ones next, but Kari redirected it instead to those without collars. But the skeletal troll missed.

The slavers then started to take aim at you. Only two of the 7 arrows hit.

Shrugging off the arrows that managed to hit her, Hanako maneuvered toward the slaver that seemed most close to death. As she stepped in, she swung her sword at him in a tight arc intent on ending his life. "Omae wa mou shindeiru." she said, like a nerd, as it was an inappropriate time to spout off an anime quote.

You are now level 31. Spend your unallocated points.[/okay]At that same time, Trudy fired off another bullet and reloaded. The man who had given the orders to attack now had two bullets inside him.

Kari then started to charge towards the same man Trudy shot, and attacked him as well. The troll continued to attack.

Seeing three of the slavers down, the rest of the slavers began to beg for mercy.

"Please don't kill us!" Most of them said. However, the one who was still mind-controlled continued to attempt to attack his allies.

"I bet the people in those collars asked for mercy too, didn't they?" Hanako retorted coldly. "Let this be a lesson in justice."

She brought her sword down in two vicious overhand chops on the nearest slaver, letting the gore flick from her blade in a macabre rainbow.

Your blade first cut into the next's man shoulder, the next chop after that split the man's head, as brain matter and blood spurted out.

Kari went up, and beheaded the next slaver.

You are now level 33. Spend your unallocated points.[/okay]The troll continued to attack, taking down the mind-controlled one, bringing the slaver down as he lay dying. The troll continued to claw at the slaver though, killing the slaver.

Two of those with collars lifted their hands up in the air, when they realized they weren't being targetted in surrender. The last collared one, along with the three other non-collared slavers began to either run or withdraw away from the fight.

Kari had an opportunity to attack one of the collared slavers, but she resisted the urge to do so, and only clicked her tongue.

Hanako's Turn

"Do we chase them down?" Hanako asked, turning to Kari.

[Throndir]

"Praytell, who is it that decided to sell me to a fat noble of this country?" Kari repositioned her blade. "Slavers." With that she started heading towards one of them.

[Asta]

"Yeah good point. If you can manage to get the one in the collar alive, do so. Trudy, keep an eye on those two." Hanako called back as she started to chase after one of the slavers that ran. "Stay put and don't do anything stupid or she'll kill you. I promise that." she said to the collared ones that surrendered.

After around a minute a half of chasing him through the woods, you found that you were able to keep up your sprint for much longer than you did back on Earth. In fact, it wasn't tiring you at all, you only wished there was someway to go faster to catch up to the man who was no doubt tiring more and more. Almost 2,000 ft. away from the original location, you caught up to him.

Seeing that he could no longer catch up to you, the man readied his blade, though his skin was pale, and he was breathing hard.

It was in that moment, that you got a sudden notification.

Finally... Oh... I guess Kari got the other one huh.

"Make peace with your god, and pray they are more forgiving of slavers than me." Hanako said, striding forward to close the distance and making a backhanded slash.
