Once in merchant mode Grey takes stock of the type of man power he had gathered before him and the resources that they had on hand. Doing some lighting fast calculations of the size of the structure and how hot the fire was burning to estimate how much time they had. With that done he began rapidly breaking people into distinct teams in order to fight the fire at hand with the least amount of risk and downtime. It was just like managing a store front by controlling supply lines and manufacturing cost he could ensure a highly profitable situation.

However, the riddle was still hanging over him. If they did not handle this quickly then the next target would be hit and they would be fighting a losing battle. He would have to leave evacuation and the care of the fire to the towns people for now and try to hit this problem at the source.

QuoteGarret's karma usage resolved.
Zultar + Tatyanna can take their turns now.

5:30 PM
30 minutes remaining for fire at Inn.

Garret
You took direct command of the people, measuring each one's abilities and strengths. You made good use of the fire wagon that Goche and Droyte controlled. You had even gotten the townsfolk to start organizing a line to bring forth sand, water, and anything to reduce the fires and stop the spread. It was warm and sunny day, yet with you in command, the townsfolk were able to control the fire, preventing its spread to other buildings, and slowly but surely reducing the effects of the damage. Unfortunately the Inn needed a lot of repair even after the fire was extinguished, but you knew the fire at least wouldn't spread any more.

As you continued to fight the fire with the townsfolk, you thought of the places the perpetrator Goran would strike next. At the very least, if you had been the one attempting to burn down a town, you would aim for the likeliest places with a lot of materials that can easily combust. A place with oil, lumber, or any other combustible material should be at the top of your priority.

Next turns/rounds Garret will be treated as organizing the townsfolk and helping fight the fire. Note this will take around 30 minutes to fight the fire. I'll keep noting the time, let me know if you wish Garret to change his actions or do other things as well. After a point the townsfolk should be able to handle themselves. Note how long you wish to keep taking lead, and when you decide to give control to the other watchmen to organize the firefighting. I'll do some secret rolls for that depending on who you choose as the organizer.

Kin
Dashing forward, the floor started to give way, but you noticed it right on time, as you changed your direction, skirting disaster as the floor began to crumble away back to the first floor. Luckily you were already past, your light footwork already making its way past the obstacle.

The smoke on the second floor was thick. Yet even through it all, you can still see the old woman in the distance at the opposite window. You also hear the sounds of the boy coming from one of the rooms on the left.

To edit on grid: Kin slightly closer to the two.

Ryine was dreaming, he was sitting in front of a fire, the crisp clear night filled with flickering lights from the flames, and the stars. He was cooking a nice chunk of meat, and while the meat looked fine, it smelled as if something were burning. He opened his eyes, still face down on his pillow, with his armor on and sword on his back; must have been a long night. He could hear the sound of flames licking wood, and the burning smell was definitely this inn he was staying at.
"Everyone was saying that this is a great inn, but now look at it, its on fire!" he bolted towards the door and kicked it open, spilling fragments of former door into the hall before stumbling out himself.

"If nothing else, I should at least see if there is anyone I can save in here."

Fire...why's fire ALWAYS got to give me trouble. Kin thinks exhaustively, looking down at the smoldering rubble that was once stairs. That was too close for comfort...and no time to dawdle. Free from immediate danger, Kin covers his mouth with a cloth to ward off the smoke. It was exceptionally thicker up on the second floor, but that half-blindness didn't keep him from rushing forward toward the wailing voices ahead. Then, just before he got into a full sprint, the door 15 feet in front of him burst open, and a figure with a familiar voice exclaiming its next action step out.

"Ryine!? Why the- Moradin's arm, who cares. Get the lady down the hall and get out of here! I'll grab whoever's in the room over there." Kin points to the door about 10 feet from Ryine, just a little further down the hall. And without another word, dashes past the warrior at full speed, taking his greatsword and bashing through his target door.

"Hey! Whoever's in here! Get to the window, we're getting out of here!" The halfling shouts as he moves purposefully toward the window, cutting through any obstructions that are in his way. Well, except people.

Ryine
As you attempt to kick the door down, your first attempt did not budge it, though the simple door looked to have creaked and bent under the pressure. Pushing against it a second time, finally released its hold and you came springing forward into the hallway. You were met with an intense wave of heat. You immediately see a familiar face, it was Kin, and right behind him were roaring flames where you recall the stairs to the first floor were. At the other end of the hallway you notice an old woman looking out the window.

Kin
Rushing towards the door, you swing your sword at it, attempting to break it down.

Grey continues to bark orders from his place on the fire wagon keeping people in line while they continued to fight the fire. However, once he had a rhythm and a plan for himself it was easier to clear his mind. He needed a map of the town or someone who knew the area well enough. "Mayor Wintergreen are you here I have a job only you can do!" He began scanning the crowd looking for the older man. He needed to know more about the town proper and the area that the arsonist attacked. Because grey felt like the trees themselves were about to be set on fire. "Where is the logging house that you use to gather all the wood for the repairs of the town?!"

5:33 PM
27 minutes remaining for fire at Inn.

Grey
Looking around you scan the crowd for Wintergreen, you could not find him. You recall the first time the fire wagon made its way out towards the fire at the inn, he stayed behind at the fire station, while you and Kin jumped on board the fast moving vehicle. You notice your two other companions, Zultar and Tatyanna, arrive at the scene, but Mr. Wintergreen wasn't among them. It was at this point that Droyte spoke up.

"Wintergreen's still probably huffing and puffing his way here, or decided to stay behind!" She said. "He's the burgomaster's assistant, it would surprise me that he's headed back to him to report about the fire." A second later she stopped her explanation as she yelled towards a few other townsfolk to clear the way to prepare another blast of water from the fire wagon. Once they were cleared, she spoke the command word Geyser.

"If you mean where we store all of our lumber, it's in a warehouse in the northwest part of town. But never mind that! As much as I'd love to give you a tour of our town, we still have a fire to fight here!" Goche said, her perplexed expression telling you that she didn't understand your line of thinking.

Kin
The door burst open, as flashes of lightning crackled throughout the splinters of the now broken door. You see a young boy in front of you, and as the door was blasted away, the intense wave of heat filtered into the room, and the kid stepped back shielding his face from the heat. His eyes were teary, and you could tell he had been crying. He had been calling out for his mother just earlier, but with the smoke entering the room, he began coughing instead.

QuoteReminder for Ryine, Zultar, Tatyanna can take their turns, but anyone else keep posting if you wish.

Kin makes his way to the boy, handing the child the cloth he'd been using and motioning him to cover his mouth. "Everyone else is outside, kid. So unless there's anything else you need in this place, we're going outside, too." He looks over the boy to make sure he isn't pointing toward anything in the room, then, after confirming he hasn't missed anything, Kin cleanly breaks the window, clearing out the glass.

With that, the halfling picks up the boy in his arms and steps up into the newly "opened" window. Completely disregarding the child's obvious fear of jumping out a window, Kin leaps through the opening, prepared for a tumble while shielding the boy from the impact.

Ryine's foot connected with the door, not really doing much in the way of damage. He bellowed.

"DOORS! MY GREATEST WEAKNESS. YOU ALWAYS CONFOUND ME SO!"

As he stumbled into the hallway, greeted by a mass of flames, he noticed the other man who carried a sword far too tall for him. Though, this one was about half the size of Ryine. He noticed him hacking away at a door, and saw an old woman at the end of the hall. He kind of smiled, though the situation definitely called for a different emotion.

"Kin! You keep doing what you're doing, I'll go and try to save this lady!" without waiting for a reply, Ryine dashed down the hallway.

Ryine
Dashing through the hallway, making your way through the blistering heat, you eventually catch up to the old lady standing at the window. Startled, the old lady turns around and looks towards you, relief flooding her face. She sees the flames further behind you - the only place where the stairs were. The flames continued to grow however, and you knew it wouldn't take long for the rest of the fire to spread.

5:35 PM
25 minutes remaining for fire at Inn.

Kin
Looking around you in the wooden room. There wasn't anything out of the ordinary. There were two dressers, with a single large bed enough for two adults to sleep comfortably on. There was a single table off to the corner with a few random books piled on top. There were two windows to the room, measuring 2 ft. by 3 ft. each, spaced evenly from each other against the back wall. Beyond the window was a crowd of people, most of them attempting to put out the fire, but a couple simply staring up.

Oath

Ryine continues his charge towards the woman, and shouts.

"BRACE YOURSELF! WE'RE GETTING OUT OF HERE!" In a fluid motion, the man scooped up the old woman and attempted to dive out the window, twirling in the air to shield her from harm.
