Watching the wargs meet their demise brought a satisfaction that Roland hadn't felt in years, if not ever. Without the distraction of those beasts he finally had a chance to survey his surroundings. The ruined buildings called out to him, promising shelter and familiar territory; but most of all, abandoned goods. The thought of the wargs or any other monstrosity loomed in his mind. If I can survive those things in the open, he thought, I could survive anything in the alleys. Roland shrugged his shoulders, and skulked towards the center of the town.
