Thalia Village
day 1-5

Vesali had finished splitting chopped wood there is an unusually high amount of demand for it at this week, getting his job done he drank all of the remaining water from his water-skin and started sharpening his hatchet with a piece of worn whetstone. That until he remembered that he wants to go boar hunting to prepare for his soon-to-be adventure. "My life shouldn't forever revolve around wood." He thought in a curious manner.
Vesali prepared for his first departure that wasn't related with wood, He got his new chainmail. He needs a weapon but he needs something bigger than a hatchet luckily he got a great-axe straight out of a blacksmith. Rations are not really that important for him as he knows how to forage and the objective is just outside the village. He grabs his backpack, sheathed his greataxe on his back and moved on.

Before proceeding to the actual hunt he thought that he needs advice and information about boars. What are boars? How do they act? What do they taste like? Vesali then proceeded to talk to random villagers about this.

Vesali gained profound knowledge about boars and anything to do with them. He knew that he will be battling an animal different from the others as boars don't know pain and has a will as strong as iron. But it's attacks are easy to tell as it just goes straight charging at you. They are also very alert of it's surroundings and has a keen nose that they use for digging and spotting a rare mushroom that can sell for hundreds.

He also knew where to spot the gang that was getting ready to hunt a boar and they were already finished digging a trap. It was just a walking distance outside Thalia Village. Walking with his all of his gear ready, with ease he gets in the vicinity of the gang and sees someone familliar...

I'm pretty sure I made a mistake.

[info]Vesali's Knowledge (nature): 20
When you were described what the boars were, you instantly recognized them as Battle Boars. They're a type of monster that was originally found in the middle floors of the Dungeon. Because of the fact that these boars were now on the surface, they aren't as strong as their Dungeon-counterparts, however, are still quite powerful. Generally it takes a team of a couple Level 2s to take one down, a bunch of Level 1s to fight almost seems like suicide. But with the trap that Rei created, it might just work.

Environment: Dungeon, temperate or tropical forests on the surface
Organization: solitary, pair, or herd (3–8)

Whereas the boar is ill-tempered and generally unfriendly, the towering battle boar is legitimately hateful and violent. Although omnivorous like its smaller kin, the battle boar prefers to feed on flesh, and its razor-sharp tusks and keen eyesight make it particularly well suited as a predator. While the battle boar is primarily a scavenger, it isn't averse to attacking smaller creatures it encounters while searching for easier meals, or those who stumble unwittingly into its territory. A typical battle boar is 10 feet long and 7 feet tall at the shoulder. It weighs approximately 2,000 pounds.

Rei

Thalia Village
Evening

Despite her sometimes slow and tedious job as a cartographer, Rei helped out the village in other ways. Like for instance, monsters. She loved monsters, more than humans... but she understood the reality of things. From a young age, she had come to accept that many monsters had to die for survival of their familia. That was why Rei had taken up the idea of taming monsters. Not just any monsters, but ones she favored specifically. A boar was not one such monster. Rather, she was quite fond of cooked boar. Just the thought of the succulent meat made her mouth drool a little.

She jumped on the opportunity to help out in hunting the boar, secretly hoping to claim a juicy piece for herself in the process. Boar were not small creatures, but almost not very powerful. They were large and sturdy, which made them an annoying foe. The village wished to hunt a boar for the great feast they were going to have, so Rei decided that she would help out in between her duties as a cartographer. She wasn't the most skilled or strongest fighter in their small familia, but she could be quick and clever. She knew that there would be a handful of helpers on this quest, so the easiest method would be to build a trap. A pitfall trap to wound and immobilize the beast and make it an easy target with long poles or bows.

Starting out was a little difficult. After learning about the boar's rough location and then taking a whole day to find a suitable ground, she had begun digging. It was hard work, to dig a hole large and deep enough to entrap such a wild pig. The second day proved just as challenging, as she ran into red clay dirt not even halfway down. Fortunately, some of the others in the hunting party had learned of her plan to use a trap and offered to help out. Although Rei wasn't too social, she truly appreciated any help given. Let's trap the biggest boar we can find. More meat that way!~" she would say in a cheerful manner, while slightly drooling at the idea of eating a boar's cooked meat. Encouragement was also a part of teamwork, not just manual labor.

By the third day of digging, the group had finally dug the hole deep enough. It would take another day to widen the hole enough and then craft a makeshift canopy to cover the roof of the hole. Sharp wooden spears had been stabbing into the ground to prove surely fatal wounds for most normal beasts which felt in the hole and were impaled. A boar was quite stubborn and sturdy though. Being impaled without instantly killing the beast would only provoke it into an uncontrollable rage. The pitfall trap was to ensure it didnt run off into the village and rampage if they fought it. By the end of the fourth day, the pitfall hole was done and covered nicely. Someone even spread some fresh dirt to mask the scent of humans, smart! The last touch personally for Rei, was to place a long and narrow board across the hole, beneath the canopy of leaves and dirt. The reason was simple. "Um... I can lead the boar over here... Im pretty fast. I placed a board across the hole underneath the trap cover so I can run across just before the boar will fall into the hole." she would say to those gathered, volunteering for the most dangerous part of the job. This was a monster, even if the most basic kind of creature. She wanted the thrill of hunting it.
