The moment you struck out, the other two men had struck out as well. You managed to evade the first attack surprisingly. It almost seemed like the man moved slightly slower, or either your reflexes or ability to dodge was better. But fascinated as you were, the second man managed to score a hit.

You felt the weapon slice in your torso. It hurt. Another hit like that and you weren't sure if you'd get out alive.

You heard Dungeon Core 532's voice speak into your head.

"Master be careful! I can't afford to lose you already! Jump back into the core if it gets dangerous! Let me see if I can do something..."

A moment later a notification flashed in front of your eyes.

20 DP used.
All of a sudden a goblin appeared from the blue Dungeon Core crystal embedded into the wall. The same crystal you had come out just earlier. The goblin held a cruded sword for a weapon, and it attempted to attack one of the men but its attack missed.

"Ow, ow, ow!" Charlie looks down at her bleeding chest. "This was totally a bad idea, sorry 532!"

Charlie jumps back into the portal and lies on the ground.

"Phew, okay so I'm weak as hell..."

When you jumped back in, you heard the men yell.

"What the! Where'd she go? And looks like another one of them goblins appeared!" Both men attacked the goblin then, and with both of their attacks hitting, the goblin was killed on the spot.

As the goblin died, a notification appeared.

2 DP earned.
"Master!" The Dungeon Core marched over to you. "You're supposed to be amazing... But... but...!"

She sighed.

"It can't be helped, I didn't have a lot of DP to begin with... I'm sorry." She looked glum as she stared at the mirror that had the two men, who were now prodding the dead goblin's body. "I want to kill them! Rip their bodies into pieces! Cover the entire cave with their blood!~ ☆"

"Hey, I am a beginner level Dungeon Master who has absolutely no skills. I can buy things but I don't know how to fight! Clearly!" Charlie waves her hand at the wound and tosses the crossbow to the side.

"Why can't you just kill them yourself? Unless you can teach me how to fight or find someone to use mana, I'm completely useless. Just let me rest. How long will it take for me to heal?"

Charlie groans and tries to not move. While lying on the ground she decides to open the cash shop and see if there's a healing potion of some kind.

Throndir

"Normally I would have! I would have summoned a whole bunch of goblins then have them fight! But I spent the last month or two trying to save up for your summoning..."

As you sat on the ground, Dungeon Core 532 opened up her own menu, and a moment later you saw a notification appear.

1 DP used.
What looked to be bandages appeared in her hands.

"I'm not very familiar with how humans work... But if its the same as goblins, A wound like that... might take 3 days to heal up. I see some of my goblins doing this when someone's injured..." Dungeon Core 532 frowned as she stared at the bandages in her hand, and at you.

"I think you're supposed to wrap this around the wound or something..."

When you took a look at the Cash Shop, you saw some entries that were healing potions. They were included under a 'Quality of Life' section.

Gems: 95

Lesser HP Potion: 10
Moderate HP Potion: 30
Greater HP Potion: 50

Health potions were rather expensive but Charlie doesn't want to die again. So she ends up buying two Lesser HP Potions and drinking one.

"Do Dungeon Master's usually cost 1000 points or whatever? Or is that the cheapest you can buy?"

Charlie takes the bandages and tucks it into her pocket for later.

Feeling a tad better, she sits up and looks out of the portal to the cave, glaring at the two intruders.

She really does want to kill them now but just one hit was risky.

"Hey, do you have like, a map or a way to view this dungeon? You gotta right?"

Gems: 75

The potion, which was in a small vial, the red liquid tasted similar to a cross between cherry and strawberry. Drinking one of them, before your very eyes, the wound on your torso closed, and the pain vanished completely.

"Menu!" Dungeon Core 532 called out. She furrowed her eyebrows.

"When you created the crossbow, and armor, I thought you used Dungeon Points... But we're completely out! Just 1 DP left." She stared hard at you and looked at the now empty vial.

"How did you make that?" She asked, pointing to the vial.

"Anyways, yeah, we do have other functions. If you say 'Map' after saying 'Menu', it should appear for you too. But since we're in here in the Master Room, I can project it on the wall... Here."

Dungeon Core 532 seemed to concentrate a bit, and a few more moments after that a layout of the 'dungeon', which was really just a small cave, was displayed on the wall. There were two red dots in the layout.

"The red dots are invaders, and if had any of our own monsters, they would be green dots. Red means blood! Which also means death, so you should figure out how to kill them already..."

QuoteI updated your inventory to include 1 Lesser HP Potion

"I didn't use Dungeon Points. I used gems. I can buy whatever I need provided I have enough gems to do so. That's where the potions came from. I honestly still don't understand it but I suppose it's similar to you when you gave me that rusty sword and how you got that goblin."

Charlie pats her torso with a rather satisfied grin. At least healing in this world is instantaneous provided she has potions.

Charlie eyes the map with a bit of a frown. There really isn't any good way to go about fighting these guys. Maybe a crossbow wasn't the best option.

"Ah, so the more I kill, the more points you get. And then from there we can go about expanding this dungeon. Alright, guess I'll try this again."

Charlie tries to go for a sneakier approach this time as she quietly steps out of the portal and takes a shot at the guy she hit before.

Throndir

"Gems? That isn't anything I'm aware of... can you use it to kill the humans then? ☆"

Right before you headed back out, you hear their voices coming from the image that appeared on the wall that Dungeon Core 532 projected.

"She disappeared into the core! No one's going to believe this..." One of them said.

"She came out of it too just earlier... She looked like some random adventurer to me."

QuoteIf  you're continuing to attempt attacking them, roll a 1d20+5 attack roll, with a 1d8 damage roll.

akicheeto

QuoteI'm going to try and attack lol

Charlie tries to stick just the crossbow out of the portal and fires.

Attack 1d20+5 : 18 + 5, total 23
Damage 1d8 : 6, total 6

Throndir

Your crossbow appeared out of the gem then, the tip of it pointing right out. To the two men, it looked as if the crossbow came from the dungeon core itself.

"What is-"

The crossbow fired then, hitting the guy straight in the chest.

"Damnnit! What the hell! Dungeon cores aren't supposed to do that!"

Charlie just cackles at the absurdity of the entire situation. She should be more concerned that she's about to, well, kill people, but they did attack her and she has no idea what else to do at the moment.

If she wants to leave the dungeon she's going to have to get past these two men and it seems like she's already agitated them so might as well.

She reloads the crossbow and fires again, hopefully the injured man might actually go down.

Attack 1d20+5 : 9 + 5, total 14
damage if hits 1d8 : 1, total 1

Throndir

The crossbow plopped back out, and just when the man was about to speak again, it fired.

"Agh! Damnnit! Is it that girl from before? We shudda killed her!"

"It isn't going to do us any good, get away from that thing!" The other uninjured man said, and together, they both retreated away from the dungeon core, moving to a different room.

They were no longer on sight from your vantage point. However, the map that was displayed clearly showed the two red dots hiding in the next room beyond.

"They can't really hide from us... I wonder if they know that." Dungeon Core 532 let out a giggle then.

"Okay, Dungeon Master! ☆ Since you're a complete newbie, just try to focus on those two red dots on the map here... And you can change the view of the mirror to show them instead."

QuoteYou'll find that you can focus on the dots, and the room that the two men are hiding in will appear instead in the mirror view, instead of what you can normally see as if you were looking out from the Dungeon Crystal.

"Aw damn, I guess that would've been way too easy." Charlie grins and looks over at DC 532. "Hey, DC? You saw how badly I got hurt the first time I went against them face to face. Do you think I should try that again?"

Charlie pokes her head out of the portal to get a better look to see if there was a way to sneak up on those men again. She was getting really tired of this.
