Seeing Takeo's intervention only infuriated the halfling further. "Always getting in the way!" He saw, however, that the man had taken the blow in her stead. Seemingly that child assaulter had expected to cover it entirely. "Well maybe now you've learned your lesson! You DO realize that one time we fought was AFTER I'd been struck by a troll, right? I thought you said you were watching me all this time?" Kin taunted, before stepping around and winding up to deliver the finishing blow, lining up two more crushing slashes along the girl necromancer. "NOW no more skeletons!" There was a sort of crazed glee in his voice, as though he suddenly felt relief knowing the skeletons would cease appearing.

Sena grimaced as she watched her two companions fall from the halfling's attack. She too was surprised, she didn't realize that Kin had become so strong in just a year's time. Takeo had suffered a tremendous wound, from both the damage done to Yuki, as well as Kin's savage fury. But Yuki was still there. Unconscious. Dying. Fires still raging around her. Sena didn't want to leave her behind, and she fought against her instinct to swoop down there and take her away from harm's grasp. She had to keep reminding herself that this was just a match, that any serious wounds would force the combatants to be teleported out and immediately treated by the tournament's best healers.

She gripped the pilums in her hand as she focused on the enemies beneath.

At least for Takeo, she'll take one of them down.

"Hang in there Yuki." With that the winged girl threw her weapons, two long spear-like bladed projectiles aimed straight for Iiro.

"Oh my gawd." His speech was excited, his voice quivered. "Oh my gawd. Oh my gawd. OH MY GAWD. Did you see that?"

"I think I did. Yes."

"DID YOU SEE THAT?"

"Yes. Yes I did."

Though you couldn't see, you swore you could imagine the female announcer glaring at her co-host.

Hawke was beginning to feel at the end of his rope. With every move he had made, he could feel the molten coals beneath him sapping away his energy. He blamed himself for being careless enough to ignore the moving platform. Somehow he had wrapped himself up in the combat to ignore even his own footing. He spotted the safe ground a few paces away past the last of the remaining fighters, unfortunately, they stood in his way. There was no way he could make a retreat without getting attacked by either the skeleton or the flying mage. Sifting through a pocket, he fetched out a bottle he procured before the match, a bit of a precaution in case things were to get too hairy. He chugged down the health potion while withdrawing out of range of the skeleton.
[spoiler]Not sure if backing away from the skeleton will instigate an AoO, or if at all legal while drinking a health potion. If the move is illegal or causes an AoO, consider it ignored and didn't happen.[/spoiler]

"Whew...two down. Creepy, stalking, child-abusing bastards."

Kin exhaled in a sort of relief, as though a great pressure had been alleviated. Of course, he couldn't completely relax, as the ground was still on fire and scorching him. He needed out of this place, and fast. Wait, why AREN'T I out of here." Kin thought in astonishment as he looked over to see the angel impaling his ally. "Oh. Right, the skeleton wasn't a teammate." Kin got back into his fighting stance, only this time, he jumped up and down on his toes for a moment. "Time to ground a bird."

Yet again, Kin's speed and technique came suddenly as he leapt forth, appearing next to the skeleton and below the winged woman in an instant. His eyes were focused her as his pounce led him to crouch even further. It looked like he was going to jump. He was jumping. The 3-foot-something halfling was jumping toward someone 10 feet in the air. There was no way he-

And then he was off the ground, even using the nearby skeleton for a secondary boost without any extra effort. "You. I don't really know you. No hard feelings, though you did just skewer my teammate. But you ARE my only way out of this hell hole of an arena." With that statement, as he rose into the air, Kin began winding his body up, launching his strike in a whirling motion with a quick snap vertically downward upon reaching the flying woman's height. "Though, you're pretty annoying, too."

Used Sudden Leap to move into position. Taking 20 on Acrobatics check for 15 karma/likes (This gets Kin around 9 feet vertically. That's right, I jumped 3 times my height. Thank you D&D, you're a beautiful creature)

Using Mountain Hammer with my attack. I'm now out of maneuvers (which hopefully doesn't matter, but you never know).

It was unexpected. Suddenly the halfling far below managed to jump all the way to reach her. The halfling's move surprised even Sena who usually had the sharpest eyes and agility between the White Ravens. She hardly had any time to throw up a defense, and before she knew it, Kin's sword slashed her way. She felt the deep bite of the weapon, and the scorching lightning that accompanied it. She knew she couldn't dodge out of the way completely, and her eyes stared at the halfling intensely.

A moment after that she vanished, teleported out.

"What is this? WHAT IS THIS!"

"Did he just-"

"HE FLEW! Flying halfling is flying! Death from above!"

The fires around the remaining two combatants died down, as the last remaining skeleton suddenly vanished as well.

"The fanclub lost one of its members, but they've proven to be victorious! Anyways... ahem."

"Wow... he flew."

"AHEM!"

"He... flew." His voice had an air of awe.

Kin slashed through his opponent cleanly, or at least until the point she disappeared. But her disappearing led him to see his other dilemma: gravity. Kin plummeted, sword first, toward the rocky ground, and quickly righted his posture so that the blade was parallel to the ground and his feet were just below the hilt. As soon as he hit the ground, he began a roll while swiping his greatsword horizontally. It ended with him on his feet, crouched and with sword pointing to the side and away from him, still in a strong grip.

"Right. The falling part. Hadn't though about that." The halfling grumbled as he watched the second skeleton crumble before disappearing with the bird lady. "Huh. That was fast." Kin appraised as he sauntered up to Hawke, lightly punching his thigh. "Nice...whatever that was at the end. Magic? Almost looked like dragon breath. Impressive stuff, it sealed the deal on that bird."

With that, Kin raised his sword, shouting toward nothing in particular, knowing someone was watching. "GET ME AN ALE ALREADY! I'M DAMNED THIRSTY!"

The overhead ceiling started to drop down then, and immediately the roar of the crowd filled your ears. It was an amazing finish after all, and the crowd was sure to let the combatants know. There was even one who attempted to throw what looked to be a mug down towards the arena - though the poor man's aim was poor and hardly reached its intended destination.

"So that went pretty swimmingly. I'm sure half our guild was rooting for the other team as well." The voice came from a figure lying on a white hospital bed. She stared blankly at the ceiling above them. Her arm was set in a cast, while her wings wrapped around her side gently. She had a far-off gaze as if she was seeing something else, or recalling the fight.

Another voice spoke, coming from the bed beside her.

"You understand now right?" Takeo asked plainly, he too was resting on a hospital bed, though unlike Sena, was upright. His white cloak was still around him, though he had his armor off to allow the tournament sponsors to treat his wounds. He had what looked to be some sort of card in his hands, though Takeo absentmindedly played with it, without really giving it much attention.




"What do you have there?" Sena asked. Takeo stopped his fiddling.

"Nothing really." Takeo quickly said, as he started to put the card away. He stopped soon after realizing it was futile. Sena did have the sharpest eyes among them. The winged companion had already seen the particular card of his as well. It was no use hiding it.

Again, there was that smirk on her features.

"It's for investigational purposes. You know as well as I do we need to keep an eye on those two. Apart from the occasional shadows we chase, we've lost whatever scent we picked up on since a year ago. This helps me stay in the loop at least." Takeo explained, his voice wasn't amused with how his companion interpreted it.

"Yeah. I'm sure it's all pretty professional." Sena's voice was thick with sarcasm. Takeo sighed, unamused.

"Hey Takeo?" She asked.

"Yes?" He responded.

"It's the big sword isn't it." She continued without missing a beat.

"Shut it." Takeo responded immediately. There was a silence of a few seconds until Takeo spoke again.

"Will you join the fan club now?" Takeo asked. "Investigational purposes of course."

Sena paused for a few more silent seconds afterwards as she set herself back down on the hospital bed, staring up at the ceiling. A few more seconds of silence followed until she finally broke it.

"Maybe."
