As you looked for a place to stick your rapier into, you couldn't figure out any weak points in the slab of rotting meat. You struck with your blade, and the poison you infused your weapon with managed to start taking into effect, as the creature's movements began to get slow.

However, the attack itself didn't seem to do much. The piercing of your rapier seemed to simply slip right into the folds of flesh, and the moment it was pulled out, the rolls of fat simply rolled down and covered any wounds. The cold seemed to have little effect on the creature as well. The slowed creature attempted to attack you, but its movements were predictable, and you easily moved out of the way.

Forgot the first fortitude check for the stench. Go ahead and roll a fortitude check for when it came into 30 ft. range.

Alright found one thing this creature doesn't like, fire! This could be either a really long or a really painful fight, but I would prefer it wasn't both!

Markus picks up the crossbow, then makes a 5 foot step back to attempt to avoid drawing an attack of opportunity, and extracts the fire crystal from it.

Fortitude save:
Rolled 1d20+7 : 1 + 7, total 8

Throndir

Markus is now sickened.

You rolled as you picked up your crossbow from the ground. When you got caught up began to fiddle with the gem, removing it from the socket. It was at that moment that the large maw creature attacked, but another quick dodge out of the way was all it took to avoid it.

"Ohhh, ohhhhhh that's just foul!" Markus managed to howl while gasping for breath. The smell reminded him of a disgruntled goblin's left boot discarded on the south end of a hobgoblin's cesspit! While trying to keep his hacking to a minimum Markus continued, "You just... you just don't throw up last month's breakfast everyday Charles! I hope *cough* for your sake taste and smell are not your favorite senses!"

Markus attaches the fire crystal to his rapier and makes an attack while fighting defensively to increase his AC:

You quickly attached the gem to your the pommel of your rapier, then lunged forward with the blade. Your attack was off however, but likewise the large maw creature missed its attack as well.

Time to try and give the audience something to see before they themselves die of boredom!
Rapier
Rolled 1d20+11 : 7 + 11, total 18
Rolled 2d6+6 : 3, 6 + 6, total 15

Throndir

As if invigorated from the audience's almost blank stares. They both managed to hit each other! The crowd cheers.

You however, had nothing to cheer about as the creature's stench overwhelmed you again, and you found yourself being trapped in its maw. You felt its bite keenly, as well as the accompanying squeezing, but more than that you smelled it.

Oh god it stank.

Markus is now grappled. Markus to roll Fortitude. Markus to take their turn.

Break grapple with escape artist:
Rolled 1d20+9 : 18 + 9, total 27

Throndir

Markus is nauseated! Means you can only do a move action. Unfortunately escaping is a standard action!

Nauseated

Creatures with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move action per turn.

Once the nausea has passed, Markus is going to try to break out again!
Rolled 1d20+9 : 20 + 9, total 29

Throndir

The large creature continued to bite down on you as you weren't able to do anything much. You were planning to escape. And already you see the exact movements you would take to so effortlessly get out of its amazing maw. You were certain that you would get out.

But it was too late.

You felt the pain all too clearly, and you started seeing small white spots in your vision. You knew you were going to black out soon. As the flash of white light engulfed you taking you away, you were already too unconscious to register it.

You woke up seeing a familiar face sitting at the foot of your bed. When she noticed you wake, she proceeded to hastily stand up.

"I was wondering when you would wake up." The nurse said. "That last fight nearly had you. And you've been unconscious since yesterday."

She dusted her clothing out of habit as she proceeded to gather a few bloodied bandages nearby.

"If I didn't know any better, I would have guessed that you like it here." She said jokingly.
