Day 5 - After the creation of Rei's Pitfall trap (http://forums.fantasyworldcreations.com/index.php?topic=2060.0).
Rei and Tella, the two who decided to volunteer to lure the boar made their way into the forest where the boar was last seen. It didn't take too long to find, the battle boar was very large, and it was easy to track through the wilderness from where it was first spotted. Soon enough, you both managed to spot the battle boar.
It was
huge. Saying it was the size of a horse was an understatement. Even if this was as tall as one, the boar was thick, round, and full of muscles. In comparison to the rest of it's large frame, it had tiny red eyes that seemed to to perpetually glare. The boar itself was encrusted with all sorts of filth, and even from this distance you could smell it. There were flies buzzing around its hind quarters.
Stealth checks requested. If you want to potentially have a first shot at it (surprise round), before running or your life. If you fail your stealth checks, start running. :)
To clarify we are using Pathfinder Chasing (http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/chases/) rules. Some slight tweaks though. A summary.
1) 10 'zones' to get back to the trap.
2) Each zone, roll an Acrobatics check. Some zones would be DC 10, and some will be DC 15 (randomly rolled, but most will be DC 10).
3) If you fail an Acrobatics check, we enter Initiative, and therefore you roll Initiative. If you move first before the boar, we go back to Chase. If the boar gets to move first, pray that it rolls low for its attack.
4) If one of the characters seems to fail their Acrobatics check. I'll let your companion roll an Aid Another Acrobatics check to help you. Eg, they help you up cliffs, or catch your fall on rocks, etc. That will be normal Aid Another rules, giving the failing player a +2.

Summary
Tella had a good start, getting in the lead quite easily, while Rei had trouble. The battle boar had nearly gored Rei, though she managed to avoid it just in time.
A couple hard obstacles slowed the boar down, while both Rei and Tella continued to outpace it. Rei was making good progress catching up to Tella, and even managing to fire off a couple shots at the boar.
By the end, Rei made it to camp first, even managing to stick an arrow into the boar during the chase. Tella came a round after. It would be another 2 more rounds until the boar arrives.
Sieg, Naomi, Vesali, and Elidia, you have 4 rounds of preparation when Rei first arrives panting.
Rei you have 3 rounds of preparation.
Tella you have 2 rounds of preparation.
State them, or simply describe where your character will be when the battle boar comes barreling in. If you want to get a Surprise round against the battle boar, roll Stealth. One if you needs to be unstealthed though to goad it into the trap.
Tella/Rei you can write about the chase scene if you want, I'll give RP exp depending on it.

Vesali's Initiative

Vesali was eager to kill a battle boar as it would make him more experienced at upcomping battles he could face, the boar would make a great centerpiece for the festival (that he just remembered). It's hide would make a great leather, it's fat could be made into tallow and it's tusk could sell as ivory. He knew the usefulness of it.
Upon seeing it he realized that the battle boar was large enough to gain the title of battle boar. Hearing of what could be the size of it before Vesali was not too surprised but surprised enough to have a little rush of adrenaline. Vesali quickly readied his greataxe, removing the leather guard, wielding it with two hands and flexing his muscles a little. He was positioned near the hole but not too near that he could be hit from an upcoming flying debris of splinters.
Elidia steeled herself. She had seen battle before, so it was nothing new. Hearing the boar coming, and seeing her companions arrive sent a clear signal. She positioned herself by a bush close to the hole, hoping to get a sneak attack on the boar before it went plummeting down into the pit that they had worked so hard to craft.

Rei's Pitfall Trap
Day 5
Four days of digging. After her rounds back at the Troupe's Choice, Naomi would make her way back towards Rei's pitfall trap with a villager or two in tow, helping dig away at the pit they were building. It wasn't the most pleasant of things at all, but Naomi figured it wouldn't hurt giving aid to Rei. That girl was from the same country as she was, so there was an underlying connection there that Naomi couldn't help but acknowledge. Along with the Momochi clan, there were the Kanade clan as well, though between the two, she found the Momochi clan just a bit more friendlier than the martial Amazoness from the Far-East that made up the Kanade clan.
The festival would be in another 8 days. She herself was already busy with all the preparations the Troupe's Choice had been having her do, slaying a boar though? That's something else altogether.
Too bad that meat-head isn't here. He'd probably help bash the boar's head while I just watch from the sidelines. Naomi thought, thinking about that particular weretiger who had left for Orario just a few days prior. Those kinds of thoughts had been happening more often lately. Everytime one of the female patrons would look around the Troupe's Choice, Naomi knew they were actually looking for
him. At times, she would find herself up early in the morning as well, before the bustle of the festival preparation, staring at the wood chopping block at the back with no one manning it. She let out an inward sigh.
I wonder what he would think if he saw me on this little hunting escapade with the rest of the villagers, crossbow in hand. Deftly, she loaded the bolt into her hand crossbow. A simple weapon that she could fire with a single hand if needed.
Rei soon arrived, followed by Tella shortly after. In the distance was that thundering beating of something large plodding it's way towards them. With a few snorts mixed into the cacophony of sounds, Naomi knew exactly what was coming. There was a sense of rush, much different when she would play as host to various men and women at the Troupe's Choice. It didn't take much to identify what it was though: Adrenaline.
"He probably wouldn't believe it." Naomi said out loud to no one in particular.

Tella, after she was sure she had caught the Boar's attention, had taken off with a exhilarated laugh that seemed to carry across the field they ran upon. She felt no real fear against the large beast, only soaking in the experience of running for her life and doing it with friends and Familia. She had really only broken this behavior when it had seemed her partner in boar luring would be hurt, but they managed to avoid danger and they both made it to the hole.
With everyone else attempting to hide, Tella stood on the side of the Pitt opposite of the boar and began to shout at it, waving her Scythe in the air, trying to keep its attention on her "Hellllooooo You hulkin mass of bacon, come and get some!" She shouted, altogether happy she had left the inn for this occasion.

Daytime
Sneaking up on a boar was more difficult than Rei had anticipated. As they neared it, it sensed them. Maybe it was their footsteps...Or their scent. Possibly the wind had blown their scent downwind and straight to the boar. Whatever the case was, it knew they were there and it did not appreciate being hunted! It immediately went on the attack, bashing through small trees and bushes as it charged at them. Both of the hunters knew it was a bad idea to try and fight the beast in their environment... plus they already had several other hunters and a trap. Maybe the two looked at each other and silently agreed to... RUN!
It was early in the run that the boar gained a lead. Rei's partner ran ahead, as Rei seemed to stumble briefly. That was when the boar made brief contact with her. It swiped its head sideways and its tusks barely grazed Rei's armor, but with enough force to send her flying a little ways. She quickly regained her footing. The adrenaline of the rush got her lungs pumping as she ran at full speed. She quickly out-paced the boar and then her ally. She made it back to the trap first and around the pit and waited on the other side as Tella was almost there. She pulled out her bow as she waited for the boar to reach the hole and fall in. Once inside, she would attempt to shoot it with her bow.

Sieg seeing that the boar had noticed some of the others felt his hand begin to shake. He needed to do something to make sure that it went towards the trap and not the others. He knew what he had to do, but if it went wrong he could be in BIG trouble.
"Don't be a wimp Sieg, if you let the others get hurt and you could have done something you would never be able to forgive yourself." he mentally chided himself.
While the pig was distracted he stood from his hiding space behind the trap and got ready to heft his spear.
"Hey, Ham shank! Come over here!" he yelled as he threw the spear.
the goal is to try to get the pig to run into the trap and he will position himself so that the pig will hopefully charge overtop of it in response. Would be willing to forgo damage to make a check to enrage the pig and get it to charge

At first, Rei wasn't certain how things would turn out. Her and her familia had taken several precautions. Digging a pitfall trap, covering it, choosing two to lead the boar... and several more to ambush it. By the time the boar had neared the hole, things seemed like they would fall apart. Then, it happened. The boar reached the hole and fell in with a violent squeal of objection. It was followed by more squeals, this time of pain as the boar was pierced by a couple of the sharpened sticks in the bottom of the hole.
Several of their team had taken to attacking. Someone was shooting spells, others were throwing their weapons like spears and axes. Rei took up her bow and fired off an arrow at the boar trapped in the hole. Surely it couldn't get out of the deep hole, but Rei wanted to be sure that no one would get hurt in this venture. She aimed at the boar's left eye as it stared up at her party with rage. She'd let loose an arrow after pulling it all the way back and taking careful aim. "Now that it's in the hole, let's finish it off!"~ she would say, encouraging her party even though several of their attacks had missed.

Whereas the boar is ill-tempered and generally unfriendly, the towering battle boar is legitimately hateful and violent. Although omnivorous like its smaller kin, the battle boar prefers to feed on flesh, and its razor-sharp tusks and keen eyesight make it particularly well suited as a predator. While the battle boar is primarily a scavenger, it isn't averse to attacking smaller creatures it encounters while searching for easier meals, or those who stumble unwittingly into its territory. A typical battle boar is 10 feet long and 7 feet tall at the shoulder. It weighs approximately 2,000 pounds.

Day 5 - Evening
Naomi carefully eyed the approach of the boar. There was a single plank that Rei had placed down earlier to use as a simple way to move from one way to the other if needed, but Naomi knew that one step on it from the giant boar, it would definitely come tumbling down. The sounds of squealing as spears and magic were slung towards it, seemingly ignoring the attacks and charging straight onwards. The trap that Rei had suggested trying to build was definitely a smart move. 2,000 pounds of meat on short stubby legs would have no way of climbing back out at all. Everyone had labored for a few days straight in digging the pit, and the renard held her breath as she waited for the boar's approach. Her fox-like ears stiff at attention trying to capture every moment.
It charged towards them, or her, who knows, and whether or not the battle boar saw the pit trap was really of no consequence. The moment it realized it was falling in, it was already too late for the boar to escape. A smiled curled on her lips. Naomi wasn't a very blood-thirsty type of person, but whenever a plan, hers or someone else's goes exceedingly well, she couldn't help but appreciate it. The boar was done for.
With the companions around her throwing spears, javelins, axes, arrows, and slinging spells, Naomi joined in with the troupe.
Frigus Kaios. The name of one of her two magic spells, and also the first magic that had appeared when Naomi first received her falna from the goddess Thalia. It was a magic that created an extremely cold gust of air at a specific location that she willed. The spell itself would make use of the air around the location, simply chilling and freezing it. The spell had other uses of course, creating a cold drink, or even keeping the stores of food cold back at the Troupe's Choice, but given enough mind points to the spell, it would
hurt.
"Precursor of the finale, the cold winds. Chill with the ice before the twilight. Fading lights, wind from the peaks, the freezing land. Blizzard, the three severe winters!" Naomi recited the chant to the spell, a practiced set of words that had come to her the moment she first received the spell. Her sharp mind focused keenly on the battle boar in the pit, triggering her spell's release.
