The group continued their journey with everyone sitting either in the wagon, or helping drive it along. The topic of conversation, was of course, Rakia. Most of the journey to Orario would take place in this particular country. It wasn't the most friendliest of places, but supposedly they prided themselves in keeping their roads safe. "All roads lead to Valua", it was one of their mottos.

You managed to catch sight of them first. There was 1 green creature who seemed to be fairly well-hidden in the bushes and rock outcropping up ahead. It had quickly dived into the bushes when it noticed your wagon. It was 180 ft. away. When the wagon moved closer, you saw another, then another. More than likely there could be a few more hiding behind the rock outcroppings and bushes.
OODM
Unless otherwise stated, I'll have encounters start at 120 ft. away, unless the group plans different tactics. I'll be using the same Perception/Stealth rolls to figure out starting distances, and awareness. As long as the enemies are not aware, you can always creep up closer until either the enemies act, or you act. Surprise rounds occur for unaware combatants as normal.

Yuki sees 1 creature when she's 180 ft. away. 2 creatures when she's 160 ft. away. 3 creatures when she's 140 ft. away.
Sotu sees 1 creature when she's 150 ft, away, 2 creatures when she's 130 ft.
Mimsy and Eydis sees 1 creature when they're 140 ft. away, 2 creatures when they're 120 ft. away.
Taiga doesn't see any creatures even at 120 ft. away.

If you see them, roll Knowledge (local) to identify. If you don't have that, a simple Intelligence check will suffice. I use a clarified Monster Lore (http://forums.fantasyworldcreations.com/index.php?topic=1600.0) rules. So, specify in what order you want information, Offense, Defense, or Special abilities. I default to Defense first, Offense next, then lastly Special Abilities if none is specified.

     On seeing their potential ambushes up ahead Yuki reflexively dives into the bushes as well, barely sticking her head out to put a finger to her lips for the others in the group and winking.  She unsheathes her katana and draws a kunai as she slowly creeps among the shrubs to get a better look at the green things.

Yuki initiates stealth at 180 ft

When Yuki jumps off the cart taiga does his best to slow the horses to a near stop. From her reaction he can tell trouble is nearby, but she must have seen something he did not. He does his best to scan the horizon coming up empty however he simply goes on the defensive and keeps the horses as calm and quite as possible while he lets Yuki go ahead.

Yuki to state how close you want to get in terms of distance. I'll roll their Perception for them once you give me that number. Combat may start if they realize you're approaching stealthily.

With Yuki having dashed into the bushes, and Taiga following after. Mimsy began to scramble to the reins of the horses. Having both people on front suddenly disappear from view would have defintely cause some suspicion. Mimsy worked with beasts of burden before on the farm, and even though this would be her first time driving a wagon as her father was usually the one who brought goods to the market, she was excited to try.

Mimsy takes her place at the front and grabs the reigns. She'll move the wagon at a relaxed crawl about 5 ft. per round.

Seeing Yuki begin to take a stealth posture and move out, Eydis immediately loads up her crossbow and begins writing in the air, causing glowing spell runes to start taking form in front of her. The runes start moving down toward her weapon little by little as their form solidifies.

Eydis begins to enchant her next crossbow attack with a Rune of Skadi. 4 rounds of prep needed.

At 40 ft. away, two of the goblins spotted Yuki simultaneously. The wagon had moved 50 ft. closer, leaving Mimsy, Sotu, and Eydis 130 ft. away. The two goblins shrieked, just as the other four were about to turn around to see the commotion behind them.

If there's 10 rounds, Eydis will also be casting Rune of Bor on herself and whoever is still in range at the time of casting. The final 2 rounds will be spent getting in a good position for an 80ft range.

When Yuki and Taiga dove off the cart into the bushes, Sotu looked up quickly and scanned the horizon. "Hmmmm..." she mumbled and saw two little green figures dart into the bushes up ahead. As soon as her sister took the reigns of the horses, she too hopped up from her seat and went to the front of the cart and drew her sword.

     Seeing the jig was up Yuki popped up out of the bushes and threw her kunai at the nearest goblin before dashing back towards the cart.  Seeing Taiga apparently having followed her she shrugged and shouted "Don't fall behind!"

The kunai caught the goblin flat-footed, just when the goblin started to turn to see what the commotion was, the weapon pierced straight into it's eye. It fell down, dying.

"Sotu, I see Yuki." Mimsy said, she wasn't fully aware what was happening, apart from seeing the online goblin she had spotted killed by Yuki in a single attack. Biting her lip, she made a quick decision then, jumping off the wagon, and withdrawing the rapier-like weapon she moved at a quick hustle towards Yuki.

Taiga kept his head down and moved in tandem with Yuki's attack. As the goblin fell Taiga took his place and pushed himself against the brush for some cover and then struck out for a throat punch to the nearest goblin.

"Steady your breath, and go through the motions keep up your defenses. This is all one big dance." he thought to himself as he steaded his hand on the rope around his waist.

Hearing the signs of battle, Eydis quickly moved to try to get sight of it, managing to see one of the goblins at the edge of the boulder opposite of her friends.

"Please all be grouped up...!" She says, leveling her crossbow at the green menace in the brush, and firing an icy bolt at her foe. Well, technically, at his feet.

Eydis moves 30ft North-east to gain sight of Gob #1, then shoots at the ground beneath it with her Bolt of Skadi.

     Seeing the others running towards her, Yuki turned to look over her shoulder and see Taiga charging into the goblins.  Rolling her eyes she redirected her dash to circle around the other side of the goblins, whipping out a shuriken at the nearest goblin as she did so.

Seeing the goblins in an ideal position he used the momentum of killing one goblin to take its position next to the other two. With a kick and punch done in tandem to strike at them both with a well-timed flip.

Ahead of her, behind some bushes one of the goblins shot her beloved sister with an arrow. His mistake.

"DON'T TOUCH MY SISTER!!!" Sotu roared as her vision tunneled on that one particular goblin. Fueled by savage anger she began to charge her target down, leaping into the air when the bushes drew near and preparing to bring her blade down on its head.

Charging Goblin 1, and attempting to jump over the 15 feet of bushes to make the attack.

With Mimsy still flinching from the pain of the arrow sticking from her shoulder, Sotu charged, flying over 15 feet of bushes, sending her falchion into a diagonal cut downwards, lopping off the goblins head. Rather than the dying goblins both Taiga and Yuki took down, this one was dead.

Taiga feeling lighter after the healing looks down at his tiny foe and smirks. With a swift motion, he bounced once on the ball of his foot before trying to jam a knee into the chin of the goblin knocking it up into the air. "Hey Sotu, batter up!" He called as he then attempted to slam the goblin in the face with the second hit into Sotu's waiting hammer.

With the fight completed Taiga finally relaxed a bit and he felt the pain of the attacks in full. "Ouch," He said gritting his teeth before he removed a large splinter.

"We should check these guys and see if they have a stash of extra goods. If they knew people come down along this road I imagine they have done this before."


He leaned a bloodied hand against the stone next to him as he caught his breath for a moment and took a moment to take stock of his surrounds.

You find a series of tracks from the goblins going off the road into the plains.
Yuki's Perception: 12, Shuriken Recover: 15
Checking the eye, it was completely mangled, opening it up, you realized that the shuriken must have went in deep into it's eye, and skull. The shuriken was recoverable, though you'd probably have to split the goblin's head open.

Day 2 - Afternoon - After the Goblin fight



This was perhaps the first time Mimsy had gone into a fight before. But with all the training she had undergone under her mentor, she felt that she did rather well. What surprised her the most though was her little sister. Mimsy came over to Sotu, patting her head, looking over the little cat person girl who was her adopted sister. Mimsy knew Sotu had been training with one of the caretakers of the orphanage, but this was the first time she had really seen her fight. In some ways, Mimsy was a bit jealous. She was supposed to be the eldest who took care of the younger ones, but in this particular case, it seems Sotu's drive and promise to take care of her older sibling simply won out.

Still however, that didn't really change any of Mimsy's habits. Like what they had promised to their mother and father, they were to take care of each other. While the rest of the group began to look through the goblin's belongings, Mimsy crouched down a bit, carefully going over her little sister, with some worry in her eyes.

"Are you okay Sotu? The goblins didn't hurt you or anything right?" She didn't recall any of the goblins hurting her, but Mimsy had to double check anyways. It would be a bit longer until Mimsy was satisfied, and she eventually turned her attention to Taiga who was still sporting an open wound from the last arrow.

"Taiga! Umm... you aren't looking so good... Can I...?"

Mimsy will cast Dia Akesis on Taiga.

"Thanks, Mimsy I needed that," Taiga said with a sigh of relief, "So I think I have their trail if we want too follow them back to their hideout and scope things out?" Taiga leaned down to study the goblins and their treasures.

"From the looks of things, it looks like they've gotten at least two people. I would rather us make sure to take them out then leave them for some pour merchant to find. They also may have more loot for us to take. We need everything we can get for Orario. What do you think?"

I have no interest in the gear but I say we load it up so we can sell it or use it later.

     "Or it could be a waste of time and resources.  Killing goblins is boring and hardly profitable.  I mean look."  Yuki kicked one of the corpses with the toe of her sandal and held up her split of the vals they had looted.  "If you wanted to stomp goblins then you could have stayed back in the village.  Not to mention we don't know what kinds of other things might be lurking by the roadside around here.  There might be worse to come and what will we do then if everyone is tired or wounded?"  She started to walk back to the wagon.  "Or we could vote.  I say we move on.  Let me know what you guys decide."  She said as she walked away to the wagon, jumping into the back of the wagon to lay back.

Taiga frowns, but cannot argue with the logic. "If we think it is better to move on, I cannot argue with the wisdom in that. I didn't think about the fact that if the guards let the goblins this close to the gate who knows what they let roam around deeper in."

Taiga will help load the rest of the stuff into the cart, willing to move on.

Huffing a little, Eydis finally finishes running over to the group, seeing all the goblins dead. "Oh." Edyis said, following up immediately with an exhale. "So what was this I heard about a vote? Moving on, or what?"
