Raani tries to speak up vehemently in her daughter's defense but falls into a coughing fit. She grabs a cloth, already speckled with dried blood from previous episodes, and covers her mouth to ride this one out. As it subsides, she  lays back further and mutters Kulaani's name over and over, each rendition sounding more heartbroken than the last.

Raani lay on the dirt floor nestled against some bedding, surrounded by various gifts from her tribe and outsiders. She peered in the general direction of the Chieftan, eyes glazed, and spoke meekly.

"Kulaani? She..." her words trail off into a light, fleeting wheezing. A smile replaced verbal recognition of the news.

The dim light levels within Raani's tent didn't allow for much detail to be seen of the elder, but the lesions all across her body were shockingly noticeable.

Nethy rolled onto her stomach, taking the cloak with her. Splayed on the floor and- much to Vlad's relief- covered, she grumbled
"I wasn't /trying/ to poison you. I was trying to bite you. The poison part is just a side effect."

Just as Vlad finally shielded the world from everything Nethyrra's torso has to offer Frikki tilted his head around the corner skittishly, his darting around the scene.
"Does the Frikki must share room with her? Scares Frikki. Scares Frikki lots."

The sound she makes in surprise is almost inhuman. It's like a mix between an enraged ogre and a scared Frikki.

"Get off'a me Vlad!" she yells, and fights, and claws, and bites. She even makes the sound " Arr. ARRRH. Bite bite bite!" She focuses in on Vlads forearms and hands, determined to introduce teeth to flesh.
The smell of her breath is peculiar, almost toxic.

"Vlad. VLAD NO. NO! LET ME BE FREEEEEEEEEEE!" Nethyrra was at the corner of the hallway and quickly turned back to run towards her and Frikki's shared room. Caught up in the rush of running away from something, she slipped a small bomb from her belt pouch and raised it high above her head.

"Option one, Vladdy- It's poison! Or two- SUPER ULTRA BOMB! Make reconstruction take longer! Or THREE! Let Nethy be FREEEEEEE!"
she shouted the ultimatum, still floundering away from Vlad and his Cloak of Modesty +1

Silence and fatigue washed over the guild members, wary after the attack on their home several days prior. They were all eager for rest before the rebuilding efforts commenced.

However, they wouldn't get it. This IS the Guild of Galas'nor. Frikki, the charming little ratfolk member, screamed at the top of his little ratty lungs. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAK!" followed by the soft pitter patter of his feet trampling down the hallway.
"Naked! NAKED LADY! She. Clothes. No clothes. Not there! Not there are the clothes!"
Upon entering his own room, he had seen a dark elven woman sitting on his bed. Topless.
Oh, no, Frikki was not prepared for such a sight. He took his innocence and ran far, far far from the terrifying sight. The lady in question scratched her chin and calmly, confusedly yelled after the ratfolk, "I'm wearing pants, though!"

"Frikki not care! No no no! Frikki see too much. Didn't want to! AAAAK!" was the ratfolks response as he reached the kitchen area. It was his favorite place because of all the shiny forks and spoons, but even clamoring to hoard all of the silverware and pans into a particular corner and polish them relentlessly with his fluffy little elbows- his favorite past time- didn't help calm the ratman down. He continued to make various yelps and screeches of terror and disgust.

Visions of his childhood tormented Vahn as of late, stealing away any chance he had at a decent nights rest. The memories were always taunting him but slumber was usually a temporary reprieve. For a tireless-now-tired, self-righteous Paladin sleep was already a precious commodity. He wandered the previous night away in hopes that enough exhaustion would stave off the nightmares, but instead found himself slumped over at the bar of a local- and rather seedy- pub.

The murmur of regular patrons in the wee hours of the morn came to a halt with the loud bellowing of an elk beast tethered just outside. A few peered outside, rubbed their eyes in disbelief, then took generous swigs of their drinks. Vahn laughed faintly and shook his head, staring at the contents of his own as he swirled it around.

I don't know what I'm doing here. His mind echoed. It seems like all of that was another lifetime ago, but still I relive it every waking day. My failure is inexcusable. Iomedae forgive me...And lead me to where I'm needed. The thoughts trailed and Vahn shook his head vigorously before laying down the coin he owed.

Tales of the Guild (IC) / Re: Into Town She Rides
August 31, 2016, 02:17:00 PM
Vahn easily startled at the unexpected voice. (S)He pulled back on the reins abruptly, forcing his (her) elk beast to come to a screeching, clumsy halt. Once still, it turns it's head and looks back at him (her?). That is not that face of a pleased elk! The blushing elven (wo)man sunk his (her) head a little between his (it's) shoulders.

"Uhh.. Yes. I am- Thank you. Yes. That- Yeah that's what I needed. Thank you. Vladimir, right?" Stammered words seep from the paladin's soft, dainty lips. With an annoyed bellow the elk shakes it's head restlessly and looks at the man before them. Two small steps towards Vladimir, before leaning it's muzzle in for a good ol' sniff and nudge.

The skittish ratman writhes his paws together, sheepishly tossing his head around scoping the group and avoiding eye contact with the feline.

"Oh no. No no no. No! Nice kitty, yes? Very nice? Okay not very nice. Some nice? Maybe, yes! Please, nice."

The longer they are locked in the standstill, the more fidgety Frikki gets.

"Frikki does no harm, no harm to Frikki. Yes? Yes! Much yes!"
#28
The rat-man ran and ran, still screaming, his eyes darting around rapidly on the look out for any more dangers.
"Icky goo! Icky, yucky goo! GO WAY GOO! Frikki no love you!"

Something seems to snap in Frikki's poor little head as he goes bonkers at the mention of losing coin. He runs in tight circles while fumbling for his coin pouch.

"Coin! Shiny coin! Coin coin! Heres? Yes? It's heres?!" Once a paw is on the pouch, he pries it open and stuffs his face in.

"Yes! Coins is here! I can do the paying thing, yes!", he says, though slightly muffled. He pulls his face out and plucks the coins needed from their home; All the while with his eyes closed.

"I is sorry shinies! Frikki... *sniff* Frikki has to let you goes now!"
