"Welcome, welcome", The old mage quacked, his hands barely pointing as they were wracked with geriatric insidiousness. The other mages clapped lightly as Edori the Enlightened, opend the newly built grandhall. He drew with his fingers in the air causing the ground to shake. A amber light filled the room blocking the center pedestal that decorated the middle of the room.

"Ahh and I see our guests have arrived..."

In the midst of the light five figuers could clearly be seen, they stood with barely a hint of life. Thier forms rigid and unmoving, though if one looked closely they could see their eyes as they roamed the room.

The old mage cleared his throat, he looked slowly around the ornate hall while rubbing his thick beard with his grizzled hand. The others in the darkness emerged slowly each held in his hand a colored gem, ranging in colors from azure to golden yellow. They each approached the old mage and deposited the gem they carried into his extended hand. When the last one had been dropped in his hand he closed it tightly and spoke with a whisper, "Excellent..now choose your pawn..."

As the others seperated, he raised his hand once again summing a green mist it soon disipated revealing a maze of corridors that seemed to be almost alive. He took small statues from a silver box that sat on the side of the maze.  He grinned briefly and once again stroked his beard. "Let us begin..."

Seconds later the five figures appear in the dungeon...

QuoteDungeon Hall Level 1 Room 1

The room is filled with strange ornate glass shapes there is a smell of oil, most likely from the burning  torches that surround the room, a small pedestal sits in the room, on it is single jewel. A first glance there appears to be no way out of the room.

(Kazamatta looks around wondering what just happened.) "When I placed that pawn in the maze I must have got put into it myself." I take a look around i seee nothing that resembles a door of any kind. My attention then caught by a glowing light. I look over and see a crystal. "I wonder if this might help us get out." I see the others are here also. I turn to them then get an idea.

I say to the others, " We need to find a way out this gem probably has something to do with it. We should search the walls and anything else around for some type of area to place this gem.  If you find it holler out so. Ill begin in the left corner of the wall to me right working my way up tp the one ahead. I say 4 of us pick a wall and one begins searching the torches and the pedestal on which the crystal sits."

After finishing speaking I look at the others. Next I then take another look around the room then look again at the brightly glowing crystal. getting a good memory of how it loos the head over to the right walls far left corner ready to start looking for a way out.

Belgi (http://forum.fantasyworldcreations.com/characters/throndir-character-list/msg74/#msg74)

The gruff dwarf swooned as the effects of the teleportation spell faded. Even with his upbringing among the Elven community, his foster parents being elves themselves, one would think that the dwarf had managed to learn how to handle magic. In truth, though he was exposed to it often, magical transportation was something that dwarf didn?t overly enjoy.

As his eyes cleared and as his vision started to focus, he saw one of his companions, a cleric he looked like, begin searching the walls after a cursory glance at the crystal in the middle of the room.

Though most dwarves would have been keen on examining the crystal, Belgi, ever more on the side of caution, warily approached the pedestal in the center of the room and peered closely at the object, looking for any signs of a trap, or anything that could be useful to know. He paid close attention to the pedestal as well as the crystal sitting on he object; looking for any sign what the crystal might be used for or even why it was there.

A childlike voice giggles and echoes throughout the room. A soft glow begins to emanate from above the party, reflecting off the mirrored walls giving the illusion of a large lantern being lit. The light slowly begins to fade and a small child-like figure with feathered wings emerges. ?It tis a pleasure to make everyone?s acquaintance this fine evening, my name is Ving Seal?vr Toreal?ias of Vaeloria, child of Sylvania, may her light shire forever. It appears we have been trapped like spiders in a game, not of our creating. How strange that seems but indeed it could be or it is of our own. This is hard to say as of yet, but once again it is a pleasure to meet you all.? A brief pause follows, ?Oh that is a mouthful isn?t it. You all may simply call me Ving.? A self edifying smile covers his face; perhaps he has won a secret game.

What everyone sees, is a young elven figure with white feathered wings, pale skin, golden eyes, silver hair, dressed in robes and small bits of ornate looking armor. His hair falls loosely around the shoulders, some locks held together with ornate beads and brass fittings. His robes are made of dark blues with black trimming around the edges and in arcane designs. Along the edges of the robes are also runes of silver embroidered in the hems of the robe.

The fairy slowly descends to about shoulder height of the other party members, and sits as if in a chair. Slowly he begins to rotate around in place observing the room and everyone within. A child like smile crosses his face and he begins to chuckle ever so softly. ?Ho, what a game we shall all play what a game indeed. Well friends when we are indeed ready to move on let me know.? He flutters to one of the mirrored walls, and begins to observe his features. An occasional chuckle comes from his position; perhaps he shares a secret joke with no one but himself.

In his thoughts Ving recounted his time in the forest. It had not been long ago that he had set out from the forest, hoping to find more Arcane seekers like himself. He had arrived at a sacred ruin dedicated to some long lost and forgotten power. He had chosen to study the place and on that night the moon had reached its fullest zenith. The beauty of it was almost too much to behold. Once the moon light began to cover him, line liquid white fire the air began to hum. His hopes for seeking arcane might surfaced and he began to repeat it as a mantra inside himself, the arcane pulsed around him in rhythmic thumps and then a shudder shook his very existence. He fell for what seemed an eternity. And then he appeared here in this room of mirrors surrounded by strangers. What this truly meant was hard to say but he refused to reveal his thoughts, not quite yet.

Wan toppled over from the sickness of being transported into a square room with other strangers. He got up peering around the room, observing his surroundings. He looked at each of them and examined them for a few seconds then went to the next person. He strangely knew their names. He had no idea how, but he just knew. He heard Kazamatta say to the others "We need to find a way out this gem probably has something to do with it. We should search the walls and anything else around for some type of area to place this gem.  If you find it holler out so. Ill begin in the left corner of the wall to me right working my way up tp the one ahead. I say 4 of us pick a wall and one begins searching the torches and the pedestal on which the crystal sits."

Wan was dressed in full Netch Leathor Armor. [see my upcoming post for a picture of my character.] He got up and started gliding the walls, looking for any imperfections in the wall.

Zan blinked a few times, taking in his surroundings.

He gazes at each of his companions, trying to decide if they are enemy or friend. He listens to one begin to speak, giving commands, as if they were all old friends. He watches his companions move around the room, touching the walls, searching for something.

Zan smiles and laughs. All his companions jerk up and peer at him, quizically. He stands there cackling now as the others look at each other in bewildermnet.

Zan stops laughing, almost as sudden as he began. He soon sees a small dwarf make his way over to a pedestal upon which a gem rests. His mind snaps into overdrive as he quickly rushes over, pushing the dwarf out of the way.

His hands close upon the gem and he releases it from the pedestal's grasp. He stands there, holding the gem like a new-born baby, unaware of the horrors or blessings that he has unleashed upon his party.

Zan
As you grab the gem it vibrates violently in his hand, and flies from your grasp cutting your hand, it quickly deposits itself back from whence it came. It seems to now however hover above the pedestal and you notice the room has gone slightly dimmer. (-1 to HP)

Wan & Kazamatta
After a thorough search of the room you find nothing of either interest or of consequence, the room appears to be on rather large complete stone facing, with neither end nor nook. The gem appears to be just that a gem on a pedestal.

Belgi
As you study the crystal you notice that it seems to glow brighter as you approach, there appears to be a light refracting off the surface of the crystal, its almost hypnotic, as for the pedestal it is covered in a some sort of ancient language it appears familiar but you can't seem to quite decipher it (Roll 1d20 if you wish to try an interpret the language)

Ving
(Not sure what your doing lol)

The light in the room has grown somewhat dimmer....

Zan grabs his hand and starts hopping around, screaming in pain. He looks at his party and spots a cleric.

"HEAL ME! HEAL ME YOU WORTHLESS CLERIC!! DO YOU NOT SEE THIS CUT, I COULD GET BLOOD POSIONING!! HEAL ME!!!" Zan screams at him.

{WHATEVER THE CLERIC WISHES TO SAY}

Zan turns away and begins thinking. He can't remember anything, not even his past. He turns back towards his party and mumbles, "Sorry for being..uhh.."

{WHATEVER ONE OF YOU WISHES TO SAY}

"Sure, here, let me help you search."

Zan turns away once more and he begins knocking on the walls, seeking some kind of abnormality as far as the hollowness of the walls' is concerned.

Feeling angered by the walls being normal and not being able o find a way out, I walk over to the pedestal. I attempt to decipher what it says but only understand two words, "You" and "Must" ( I knew I should've stayed in school). I look at the others. the only one who seems to be doing anything at this moment is Belgi who is kneeling at the pedestal. Looks as if he is lost in thought.

I notice the light has grown dimmer. I attempt to cast Light[rolls 1d20 and gets 10] so my fellow adventurers can see better in this large stone room. As for the way to get out of here, I know not. The best idea i had was maybe an indention in wall where the crystal can be placed and an exit would appear. With that idea failing I apologize to the others. before I attempt to cast the spell I make sure I am near belgi so if it works there will be enough light to help him read the script better.

Belgi (http://forum.fantasyworldcreations.com/characters/throndir-character-list/msg74/#msg74)

Belgi was about to carefully poke the gem on the pedestal, he was about to carefully handle it, making sure that there were no traps, no strings, no pressure points, or anything that could possibly cause any harm. Of course, that was until a seemingly menacing aura rushed at him from behind. And before the dwarf could react; it was already too late. The elven cleric behind him had rushed towards the pedestal, the creature's eyes almost hazed in... what was it? Belgi thought... eccentricity?

"Bah ye durned cleric!" Belgi said grumpily as he was pushed aside by the charging cleric. He thought of what his own dwarven brothers would have done; likely it would have been to charge forward barreling the cleric ot the ground. But of course, Belgi thought, an elven dwarf wouldn't do such a thing. Not a moment later the cleric cried out in pain as the gem whisked its way back towards the pedestal, floating instead. At that Belgi grinned, though he thought it better not to say a word.

It was then when he noticed the strange markings on the pedestal, they looked to be a language. Belgi had studied languages many years ago under the tutelage of his elven foster parents, and he wondered if there was anything he could decipher.

QuoteZan
You talk to yourself  about the pain you are feeling, after accusing a cleric of not aiding, just as quickly you jump up to help in the search of the room, finding nothing in your ordeal.

Wan
As you sit down on the ground you feel something is different about the floors surface, you feel a strange vibration coming from what you think is beneath you.

Kazamatta
Without hindrance you cast a simple spell of light, strangely the room does not seem to have gotten brighter and your spell seems to have already dismissed itself. (lost 1 spell "light")

Belgi
After staring at the strange writing you still cannot accurately, make out what the glyphs say, however you do recognize the language as the old language of the horde. You do recognize two glyphs that immediately stand out
Jor'ind (light) U'eutyu (Path) You also notice that the gem grew bright for just a moment...

Ving
You continue to do the things that little mischievous fairies do.

QuoteThe room has grown even dimmer now, the gem on the pedestal appears to be pulsating in rythmic pattern. There is a scratching sound coming from somewhere in the room...

I try to block out the sounds of all the others and listen deeper to the scratching sound within the room. I block out the thoughts within my mind going into a sort of meditation state letting only the sound of scratching be that which I hear. At first it echos through the open room. I then concentrate harder. (Maybe this sound has something to do with the way out of here....or maybe worse.)The sound starts to be more and more isolated.

I cant make out where it is just yet, but it seems to be coming from below us but also near a wall. I fear that whatever that sound is will not be friendly. (I concentrate harder).  Wait, I think I got it. Yes, tha has to be it.

The dimmer light, the strange pulsating of the gem, the almost faint scratching sound was more than enough for the dwarf to load his blunderbuss with ammo. He would have pulled his axe, but Belgi felt more comfortable with his "long-barrel" more so than the large axe strapped to his back. He pulled the weapon close to him and kept his eyes and ears on alert - all the while his mind thinking about what "light" or "path" could have meant. As he was on alert, his mind drifted to what the "horde" was.

As Wan is interrupted by the strange vibrating he notices the others kissing up to the dwarf, Belgi to be on good terms with him so they would not be slaughtered by his bad-@## axe, because they knew he could, and would do it. He leaned to the ground to hear it better. There was more rumbling, butnit seems as if the others were too incompetent to feel it. Wan gave himself the credit of being very observant, and overall smart. Wan could start to feel the vibrating get more intense, and the light dimmer still. Wan yelled at the others to let Belgi do his thing sothey could get out. He wasnt sure if they had heard him though.

Ving sat for a long time caught between pondering shenanigans and the current issue at hand. The room was most curious and the gem seemed to be the crux. Perhaps this was a type of team building exercise something requiring a joint effort of all those involved. After all a genius such as me would do the same, the fairy pondered. To ask a group of total strangers to cooperate was like trying to herd cats after all. He chuckled at his own personal joke. He slowly began to hover down towards his companions as they huddled around the gem and pedestal. As the fairy descended he slowly began to illuminate the room, the light radiating from his body. In very happy and elated voice the fairy spoke, ?Well me friends it appears we have ourselves a good old fashioned puzzle as it were. If you gents would be so kind as to not step on me, I will lend you a hand, possibly two if you are of a mind for it.? The nearly 2 foot tall creature descended to nearly eye level with the pedestal and gem.

QuoteAttempts to decipher the script upon the pedestal. [1d20] 19 = 19

[To better determine the nature of the puzzle laid before us.]

The fairy?s hands began to move in weaving patterns and a soft melody escapes his lips. Casting Detect Magic and Read Magic, to better understand the nature of the gem and pedestal. Detect Magic on the Gem and Read Magic on the words of the Pedestal.

QuoteZan
You focus all your attention on trying to determine what the scratching noise is, after closer inspection of where you think the sound is, you realize that sound is not so much of a grinding but more of something sliding. As you get closer to the wall the noise increases now sounding like a screeching. Lighting the candle you realize, that strangely is has not effect on the light in the room as it grows dimmer. (-1 candle)

Wan
You yell loudly, but the only response you receive is some blank stares and shrugs of the shoulder

Kazamatta
You concentrate for a time, you feel that you can almost understand where the sound is coming from, a moment later your concentration breaks and you find it difficult to regain your thoughts. (-1 to INT till rest)

Belgi
You realize that the scratching sound sounds more like straining metal, almost a screeching. You find nothing that could cause the sound in the immediate vicinity. The pattern seems to pulse in intervals and appears now that the speed of the light has increased slightly. You remember the Horde to be the powerful beings that almost wiped out all humanoid life. You also remember that they were extremely cunning and prone to making a thinking mans traps, they sadistically like to watch their prey as they struggled to find a way out.

Ving
You quickly recognize the script as the ancient polygryphical language of the Horde, its many shapes and simple patterns take no effort for you to decipher. It reads:
QuoteThe Light of the Path is not forsaken nor granted to those who tread its many directions.
After casting the spell of detect magic the pedestal and crystal immediately glow a dull blue, you also see an odd line of bluish light leading from the pedestal to the far back wall. The same line then moves up the backwall and spreads around the circumference of the room lighting the ceiling above. (-Read Magic, -Detect Magic)

QuoteAs the party attempts to find where the sound is coming from the room grows even dimmer as the crystal on the pedestal pulsates at a faster rate, suddenly the room seems to drop downward abruptly and just as quickly ceases its decent. You notice that dust has fallen from the roof above during this even. The entire party suddenly heres a clicking noise after the room has stopped its descent, almost like the insides of a clock.
Title: Re: Enter The Dungeon....

The room shifts and feels as if has just dropped in someway. I quickly look around the light is growing dimmer and all our efforts to brighten the area more seem to fail. I listen to what Ving has said the script reads but know not the meaning behind the words. I stay standing by the pedestal with the others and keep repeating the words within my mind trying to figure out what the riddle means. I say aloud, "There has to be some type of path to this light maybe not one that leads in any direction, but the pulsing must have a pattern to it and a meaning behind it."

I continue to watch the crystal closely but also staying alert enough wondering if the room will descend again as it just did. It may have stopped right after it started  but this could be very bad if it doesn't next time it happens. Especially with not knowing how high up this room we are in is from any type of solid ground. I also realize that there is some type of dark magic at work here for any light spell fails even lighting a candle doesn't have an effect. The only light being allowed is that which the crystal emits, and that is steadily getting dimmer.

Wait. That line that suddenly came from the crystal must have to do with the meaning behind the riddle. I look up and see the ceiling has a faint illumination to it now. I remember that there was something about "many directions" wrote within the riddle upon the pedestal.I stand near the pedestal in center of the room and look around. Starting at ground level and studying up to the ceiling. It is a little dark but if there is any other path to this light, even a faint dimmed one, it should be visible.

[Roll to see if I have any luck noticing another path linking in some way to the gem([blockquote]Rolled 1d20 : 17, total 17[/blockquote])]

I notice the the scratch on the wall to the right. after paying close attention to it, trying o figure out the meaning behind the riddle and what that scratch has do do with anything. I make my way towards the wall. I observe it more closely but dare not touch it cause all who have seem to get hurt after making contact with the wall. The walls and the gem both caused damage to all who make contact with them. But Belgi pushed the gem with his axe and wasn't harmed, so maybe. I pulll out my sword. I run the tip of my sword down the scratch on the wall wondering what could have caused it.

I look around and see nothing else but two lines of light and now another crystal as well as a panel. I say to myself, "This is an interesting puzzle. it seems we all have a part we must play to figure out the meaning behind it all." I see Zan keeps getting hurt and put away my sword. I then walk towards him and stop right in front. I tell him, "Your a Cleric but it seems you forgot how to heal yourself so here ill try to help." I attempt to cast Heal minor Wounds on Zan.

Belgi (http://forum.fantasyworldcreations.com/characters/throndir-character-list/msg74/#msg74)

As the blue gem appears, Belgi's eyes light up. It was some sort of puzzle, he thought as he proceeded to make his way towards the blue gem. He was never very good at puzzles, though he found a fondness through them, and even if he wouldn't ever admit it to his dwarven cousins who became role models to the dwarf, he always loved to spend time working on the puzzles.

Patience was something his dwarven brothers never truly had much of. Especially if related to things like riddles or puzzles. But being raised by elves, who had quite a different view of the world, Belgi understood that it was a stepping stone towards finding out the mystery of the gem.

Standing southwards from the blue-colored gem, Belgi prodded it forward, northwards with the tip of his axe.

As you push the blue gem it glides up near the north of the pedestal, but before it locks into place it suddenly floats back to center, a loud noise feels the room and a blast of energy of some sort wizzes by your head, leaving a burn mark on the wall behind you. As soon as this happens the entire party hears the word "Gru-it!" as it seems to echo throughout the room. Looking at the pedestal you see that it has now become fully lit with odd colored runic characters around its circular edge, each rune appears to have a meaning, though at the moment you cannot tell what they are...

The dwarf grimaced as he stared at the burn marks on he wall. For some reason or another it had aimed too hi- Belgi frowned before he finished the thought. Bah! Even traps are racist.

The room is all very strange. Belgi thought calmly some moments later when he regained his bearings from the unexpected assault. But he took it in stride. He grinned in spite of himself as veered towards the center of the room where the new designs and symbols were. He wanted to see if any of them looked familiar, and to see if there was anything else different about the pedestal.

You examine the gems, and find that they are just that, gems. Though one is red and one is blue, however you did notice that the light they generate is exacting to their color. You recognize the word "Gru-it" as to mean 2 of 6 or something similar. The symbols though you cannot decipher them as the language they indicate is unknown to you. You do determine that it is some sort of code perhaps pertaining to the color of the gems.

Ving was amused at the events unfolding before him. The magic was ambient and the gems were enigmatic. His mind raced with intrigue fawning over the puzzle laid before him. The gems appeared to operate on an invisible axis that had a center point and resting point. The current factor to consider was if the gems reacted to various effects and interactions. He attempted to focus but his mind started to wander. The various outcomes of the puzzle focused in and out. The other sounds and lights seemed to be distracters meant to draw the victim?s attention away from the puzzle. Perhaps the colors are related to each member requiring a personal use of force by each in order to move the cooperative piece? Oh, the sheer delight that arcane forces were at work sent trembles down his spine. This could be his moment to bask in power or he could die. A smile crept over his face, awe the great mysteries of magic. And my father wanted me to be a potato farmer, well I will show him!

Ving flies down until he is hovering over the very top of the pedestal and looking down at its configuration. Once the lights begin to illuminate and the runes appear, he attempts to decipher the runes.

[I am going to use an intelligence check, since I already know that the language is the ancient polygryphical language of the Horde.]

QuoteIntelligence Check: [1d20] 15 = 15 My INT is a 8.

?Allow me a few more moments to meditate on the facts gentlemen. I do believe we are working with a simple series, lateral triangulation puzzle based in dimension. Though it could be that I am over stating the obvious only time will tell.? The fairy begins to chuckle amused at his use of creative wit.

Kazamatta looks over at the fairy Ving who at any remark made by himself, either is only his own range of hearing or that of all in the area, chuckles. I cannot read these ancient symbols but can try to help those here when aske. I believe it will take all of us to to get out this area, before...before something really bad overcomes us. I cannot say fro sure what that might be. I am a cleric an can help heal others, but if we play it smart and work together no harm should come to us. At least not right now,

I walk up to the pedestal an look curiously at the gem upon it. Then look towards the one on the wall. Each has a same color beam as the gem emitting it. Very interesting. These strange symbols though, they are like none I have in my travels. I wonder what they must mean. Maybe Ving or Belgi can help more in this room than any of us as they are the ones skilled in magical texts. Who knows what awaits us after though so in time maybe we will all be needed to complete that in which we must. Maybe.

In what seemed like hours that really only lasted more than few moments, Belgi had clutched to his weapon, his eyes darting to and fro as if there was some sort of danger. There didn't seem to be anything, but that did little to soothe the dwarf's mounting feelings of uneasiness. He felt the thrumming of his heart beating as he slowly moved towards a corner. He tried to resist the compulsions, but even as he kept telling himself it was all in the mind, or even more likely, the results of some sort of mental trap, Belgi couldn't bring himself to surmount the fears. He clutched his axe tightly, the blood in his hands draining. He was afraid. And he knew it. It was a fact not loss on the dwarf.

The fairy digests everything that he has learned. "Well my tiny companions it appears we have at the very least two semi clear paths laid out before us. If this is a linear puzzle then the next logical move should be the next space away from the current locked in place blue stone. So if all of that is true the next place would be one of the southern positions [either south west or south east] opposite of the upraised symbol [Hasa you did not say which side was the upraised rune was in]. The other possibility is that the next gem would be placed into the upraised notch. I would suggest we attempt both courses of action, not necessarily at the same time. So gentlemen feel free to do this with whatever force you deem necessary. As the thinker of this outfit I will observe."

The fairy hovers there and gives a slight giggle, sounding musical in his laughter.

Suddenly the room stops shifting and altering itself. Just as soon as it stops it then begins to spin slowly in a circular motion counterclockwise. But you suddenly realize that you are not alone as four beady blood red eyes appear in the darkness that fills the open room. "Ssslay them..." you hear.

The strange fear effects that were on him faded. As the beady blood red eyes appear, and the words from a voice resounded in the room, Belgi had again drew his blunderbuss. Though he was probably more strongly built than the others around him, Belgi had always preferred the use of long barrel. With that in mind he positioned himself to the back and to the side, loading his weapon as he did so.

The fairy marveled at his work, as the door began to open. Though what came next was not really part of how he imagined this happening. He had expected a crowd or perhaps clapping of hands and pats on the back for his genius. Oh well a room full of monsters was surely right next to the top of the list...

Order of Movement

1. Zan
2. Creature A:
3. Creature B:
4. Ving
5. Belgi

Quote
Brief Breakdown of how combat and movement works:

A Round consists of the time it takes for each PC, NPC to use all their actions or pass.
An Action is approximately 5 seconds of time.

You use 1 AP (Action Point) for every square you move (notice the grid pattern in the room)
It takes 3 AP (2 for preparing and 1 for casting) to prepare and cast a spell
All range/melee attacks use 1 AP

If you run out of AP you can only face and or defend. If you choose to defend you either gain a AP up to the maximum
amount of your AP, or face which means to limit the attack from behind or from the side.

Moving only requires the amount 1 AP per Square.

Other Special Actions are Denoted as Follows:

01. Move - 1pt per square.
02. Jump - 2pt
03. Kneel - 1pt
04. Stand - 1pt
05. Change facing - 0pt per turn
06. Use skill (hide in shadows, parry, etc) - 2pts
07. Cast spell - 5pts + Mana usage
08. Switch from melee to ranged - 2pts
09. Climb up/down - 2pts
10. Use item - 3pts
11. Open Lock - 2pts
12. Bash door/chest - 2pts
13. Grapple/Strangle - 5pts +1 per round held
14. Defend - 0pts (recover 1)
15. Block - 1pts
16. Counterattack - 2pts (free attack)
17. Set Trap - 5pts per Difficulty Level
18. Charge - 2 pts per square
19. Flee - 5pts per square
20. Pickup drop item/weapon/object - 1pt

If there are other actions that you do not see on the list, simply ask in OCC what amount of points and action costs.

Queuing up actions:

You can also, if you wish que up actions which will follow in suit with each player. For example:

Round 1: Charge (2), Pickup Item (1), Switch Ranged (2)
Each Action would be called after everyone has taken their turn per intiative

Round 1: Charge (2) <--- You
Round 1: Take Defensive stance (0) <----Opponent
Round 1: Pickup Item (1) <--- You
Round 1: Switch to Melee (2) <---- Opponent
etc

Special Modes:

A Party also has two options that can be called at the beginning of a round, these options must be voted on, majority wins:
1. Duel Mode - The player can challenge another NPC or Player to a duel, the loser is eliminated from the round.
2. Strategic Movement - The entire Party can adapt a specific style of combat throughout the round, ie ranged, melee, magic, etc.
3. Standby - the entire party can be put on standby simply allowing the NPCs to make their movements, however if both the PC's and NPC's adapt this mode the standby will be cancelled and the round will begin with all parties in Defensive mode.
4. Defensive - The players all stand in a defensive posture and advance one square each round.
5. Parlay - This mode puts the party into a relaxed yet ready position, in this mode the party will attempt to speak with the NPC's to resolve the conflict. You could make some valuable allies, or give your opponents first chance to strike.
(more details to come later on these special modes, just thought I would introduce the concept of it now, it will come in handy for later larger battles.)

In his hands Kurah held the staff that he had carried since he was a child, it had been his friend, his companion, his protector. It had been with him through trials of the inner circle and the tests of the old ones. He approached his feathers blowing gently in the breeze on top of Mount Highland. "Master I have come as you have commanded, what is your binding?". The old one chortled, almost laughing at the greeting of Kurah the Stuanch, "You still have not learned to relax I see, well I can't teach you everything, but I can help you reach the next level of your training. That is if your ready..."

Kurah nodded and bowed in an act of respect, barely hearing his masters words. The old one smiled lightly and held out his hand, "Your staff... if you please", he held his aged hands out waiting for Kurah's response. The bird-man hesitated looking at that which had been with him since he was barely able to walk or fly, he held it tightly for a moment, but then released it reluctantly in the old ones hands.

The Ancient Monk smiled wider this time, he took the staff in both hands and held and it high above his head, the staff glowed with a strange light as he swept it around over his head. He took the staff and slammed it into the ground in front of him its length giving off a strange red glow. "Now take it..."

Kurah obeyed grasping the staff tightly, his eyes went wide as strange energies coursed through his body he felt his very being begin to shift and change. "Master what...??"

The Old one grinned, "Oh and by the way you'll need this.." he tossed something in the air it arced through the air and landed promptly in Kurah's hand as he automatically reached for it. It felt cool to the touch its edges were hard and apparently chiseled, it was a gem of some sort, bright green in color.

Kurah tried to speak but the energies the poured through his body, robbed him of any such attempt. He felt sick to his stomach and his head began to spin. The temple around him faded away as everthing swirled in mystical energies of color and light. When he opend his eyes, there before him was an odd pedestal of some sort, there were also others moving around though he couldn't make it out clearly as his vision was still distored...

Kurah blinked a couple times, but even through the daze he managed to keep his composure. Until my eyes recover I will use my other senses to see...as Master taught me. With that thought he simply closed he eyes, letting the sound on the wind tell him of others' movement and breathing. He took the time to analyze what had just happened. I still feel that strange energy coursing through me...so I am not waking from rest...the air is dank...as though I'm in a cavern of some sort...was I teleported somehow?

He stood in perfect stillness, like a statue, obviously disciplined. Knowing others were about, imagining they knew he was there, he took a risk and spoke. "Where...am I?" His voice was raspy, matching his raven-like demeanor. It was half of the reason he did not enjoy speaking. For a bird, he hardly had a sing-song voice.

Kurah finally feels his senses return, opening his eyes to view the unfolding battle. He is VERY confused.

He clacks his beak together a few times in contemplation, watching and trying to grasp the situation. Where did my master even send me?

Having neither been spoken to, nor attacked, Kurah acted as he had been taught and simply took a stance of awareness until he understood the chaotic scene in front of him. He was ready to act as soon as he picked out a defining factor for who he should fight.

[spoiler]After all, he is a "monster" as well, so as far as profiling goes he isn't prejudiced. XD[/spoiler]

As what looked to be a large bird appeared, Belgi tucked his gun in, and started reloading as he attempted to withdraw from the bird-like creature. He'd never seen oe of hose before, and his first thoughts came to the harpy races high in the mountains. They were usually known to be barbaric and more base in their instincts. With the creature being so close to him, he did not want to give the impression of provoking he bird-like creature.

Kurah simply turns his head, watching the dwarf. His expression was like those he'd seen years ago when he visited a human village. Must be his first time seeing an Avern...well as long as he doesn't call me a harpy, I won't think anything of it...that would just be demeaning...

Kurah continues to stare back, analyzing him. He then states simply, "Where is this...what's going on?"

Belgi launched two shots at the creatures, Creature A unable to defend himself took the full brunt of the first projectile, it  shook violently and looked down at the large hole now in its chest, its eyes rolled back as it dropped its weapon and crumpled to the floor. The weapon does 1D6+2 damage based off a medieval flint lock cannon (hand held).

The second round struck the other creatures shield it penetrated but the reduced momentum was not enough to damage the creature except for a minor scrape, its eyes turned red as it saw its fallen comrade, it howled shrilly at the top of its lungs a fiery redness filling its eyes.

Belgi looses 2 action points for reloading. The weapon does 1D6+2 damage based off a medieval flint lock cannon (hand held). I'm assuming its a type of blunderbuss which is more of a lobbing weapon then a actual shooting one. If not let me know.

Creature B is dead or dying.

Zan will lose 1 HP for every round he does not heal his wound (bleeding/wounded)

Everyone roll a 1d20 to save vs ??.

Ving took a few moments to analyze the situation. It appeared that the new creature that had appeared was much like the rest of us sent to this place. He certainly had that residual feel to him. However it could be that the entertainment was not up to par and our circus directors felt the need to spice up the show.

QuoteIntelligence Check [1d20+8] 19 = 19 + 8 = 27 to ensure that his deduction was correct on the magical nature of the new addition to the room. Looks like teleportation magic to me.

[Attacking Creature B]

QuoteMagic Missile [1d4+1] 2 = 2 + 1 = 3

The fairy states in a boastful manner, "Be you friend or foe its hard to say my Avian friend. We are noble companions drawn to these ancient ruins outside of our own power. Should prove to be a grand adventure for certain or perhaps lead to our most untimeliest of deaths. One shall hopefully not begrudge the other an opportunity to determine thy own choice for certain. Well I am Ving Seal?vr Toreal?ias of Vaeloria, feel free to join in or plight or if you should so choose you may join the creature on yonder floor. The choice is yours but do be a dear and linger to long on the choice." He begins to chuckle unable to begin another spell.

And there's my answer. Kurah thinks to himself. Ving sees a spark of recognition in Kurah's eyes when he's done speaking, and, without a word, Kurah nods and charges at the remaining foe. He jabs his quarterstaff toward the creature, then follows the attack by jumping and spinning over the staff, snapping his heel toward the creature's jaw.

QuoteFlurry of blows -> two attacks at -2 to attack bonus. I'm not sure how attack rolls work in this, so I leave it up to you this time haha

<KURAH>
In order for Kurah to perform all the moves he has intended he will require
Moving (1 points per square) so a total of 9 points will get you to the opponent.
Jabbing (single attack 1 point) so 1 point to attack
Jumping and attacking would require 3 additional points (we will just say the spin is part of the attack) 2+1

So I am assuming that you are moving toward the opponent then doing a jab(staff) along with a jumping attack. (total of 13 points)

So the rolls work as follows 1d20 for actual attack and then whatever your attack dice is if successful.

DC = 10 <--- Number to beat.

first attack
[blockquote]Rolled 1d20-2 : 18 - 2, total 16[/blockquote]
second attack
[blockquote]Rolled 1d20-2 : 17 - 2, total 15[/blockquote]
spin attack
[blockquote]Rolled 1d20 : 15, total 15[/blockquote]

You can roll damage, based off your attacks.

QuoteThe other creature is stuck in mid cast by a magic missle, the shot is enough to stun the fiend causing it to fall incapacitated, it is also severely wounded and will most certainly bleed to death if not healed. The path were the fiends bodies lay appears clear.

All negative/positive effects have been removed from the party (except buffs, if any)
All Action points have been reset to their normal values.

The Party has now entered RP mode, I would recommend healing wounded party members as a priority.

With a faster-than-walking pace, Kaza gets to Zan, looking over his injuries. He quickly prepares for and casts his healing magic, channeling regenerative energies into the wounds. "With a little time and focus, I should be able to get these under control. Just relax." He states reassuringly.

Kurah composes himself once more, dropping his battle stance, but keeping himself aware. These were still unfamiliar surroundings to him, and though the group seemed cordial, he could not be sure. He continues to stand off to the side, his personality not allowing him to approach them out of caution and a general unwillingness to speak.
