Title: [IC] League of Extraordinary Merchants vs Lyolf's Legion

"Welcome again folks! The Guild of Galas'nor has completely dominated the semifinals and finals. But which of these two groups will win? The match will soon start very very soon, and tell me, my fellow announcer, how do you think this fight will play out?" The first announcer asked, his voice genuinely curious.

"Well! If there's anything we learned from yesterday's fight, Jin can take on three at once, even if they happen to be hard hitters. You see what happened to Ryine and Nyuko." She replied back.

"I wouldn't count out Lyolf's Legion though. Zultar was pretty terrifying the last match, even when everyone expected Lyolf to shine the most. Zultar took the finishing blow for each of the opponents." His voice had a hint of wonder.

"Yes, but Serena will actually be able to show you her moves this time around."

"I'm sure Markus will have a trick under his sleeve as well..."

"And how about you? What are your thoughts?"

Knowing he would have never made it this far without his teammates who took care of all the hard work in the last round, Markus decided it was time to change his strategy. He was tired of being just another side stage performer with a knack for the wilderness. Reflecting back on his time as a hungry performer working in the side streets he channeled his focus towards his time spent with his uncle, Theodore. Theodore had always been exceptionally qualified with the whip which had impressed Markus at an early age.
Markus spent as much time as he could with Theodore, learning what he was able to; and he quickly found those whip feats he picked up along the way played particularly well into his acts on stage. However there was no longer any time to think about trick shots and misdirecting the audience for entertainment. No, now was the time to fight, to wound others and to bleed for that same invigorating cheer of the crowd. Somehow things seemed different to Markus this time. He readied himself in one of the stances his uncle taught him so long ago... it seemed awkward at first, but he quickly found the center of his balance and looked forward, with a smirk slowly spreading across his face.

Markus turned his head and snapped somewhat quietly "Yes I know no one has ever spoke of Theodore before Charles!" Then shaking his head he continued "We call that a plot device! Would you mind to please get back into your pocket now? I think even with Theodore's conveniently-timed training we are still in for a difficult fight!"

Serena and grey entered the stage weapons and fists at the ready. Grey was still feeling swore from the last fight so he simply bared down ready for a for a fight body aching. While Serena on the other hand was in fighting form. Dancing and flinging herself in an attempt to wow the audience and get the upper hand in terms of movement. If the other team thought that her dancing was simple grandstanding they would realize just how quick she could be. This time both of them were kicking things up a notch after being so thourghly embarrassed. This time things would at least be a better show and as the announcers finished they had someone help with the spectacle.
--

As the announcer finished their last line a voice cut in out of nowhere. "Oh yes, both Serena and Grey are both ready and raring to go!" Came Kryas' melodic voice. "Since everyone in this final match has been working oh so hard I thought I might lighten the load a bit. So for this final match I've taken over as one of the stand in co-commentators to add a bit more style to this whole affair." Anyone looking at the actual announcers woils see them trying to speak frantically but no words xoming out. The bard had apparently put them under a silence spell. He had somehow managed to create a large enough floating disc for a two person desk. His cocky smile belying his true idea as he gave his partner a chance to introduce himself.
Title: Re: [IC] League of Extraordinary Merchants vs Lyolf's Legion
Post by: Golas Rorn on June 16, 2016, 12:02:42 PM
The large man roared in laughter as he looked towards the two announcers who were trying to say something, but their voices simply not carrying any sounds. The floating disk that Kryas had summoned was large enough for the two of them, though Golas had to admit, it was a tight fit for him, and he had to make it a point not to move too much. The bard had managed to convince him to be guest-announcer with him, and though Golas wasn't quite as interested, he did owe Kryas.

"Golas Rorn! Handsomest and strongest in the guild of Galas'nor!" The large man proclaimed boldly as his voice was carried throughout the arena. He was supposed to introduce the fighters below, but the large man couldn't help it. He grinned as he considered the bard beside him.

"And Kryas! The second handsomest and strongest in all of the guild!" He roughly thumped Kryas on the back with one hand, while the other waved at the cheering crowds below them.

He knew most of the guild members down below who were about to duke it out and he himself was curious to see which side would win. But Golas knew that this was more than just the winners, this would be a show of skill and entertainment as well.

With the announcers behind them completely silenced, the opportunity was given to Golas and Kryas to start the fight. He saw the many guild members both in the audience looking expectantly up towards them. This was a tournament made for the Guild of Galas'nor after all, and what better way to show it than have the two most charming men of the guild to introduce it.

He grinned a knowing smile at Kryas.

"I believe its time to get this show on the road and see just how fantastic this fight can be. To that end I've got a few surprises in store as wills clash and muscles strain in the heart of combat!" As he said this the entire first row of the coliseum stood up various instruments in hand and began to play a vivacious melody that the bard had written himself for one such occasion one meant to excite the blood of those listening to it. The melody matched the tone of sweating bodies in conflict clashing in a state of extremes risking everything for the sake of the thrill and one owns ideals.

The stadium began to get wrapped up in the beginning notes as the momentum continued to build with the continued ascent of the combatants adrenaline. It would hopefully help push both sides past their limits.

"Now let us see your passion in your blades and fists and get this party started!" the two announcers screamed in perfect unison. As a series of large fireworks went off all around the stadium set up by the half elf. Exploding in colorful shapes and figures the spectacle was meant as a signal gun for competitors.

The original speakers were still silenced as they watched angrily the proceedings as well as kick off of the finals match. They were the ones to get that honor, not the guest announcers after all! However, the cheering of the crowd eventually subsided as each of the competitors ran their own performance for the audience to view.

League of Extraordinary Merchants
The show started with Serena showcasing one of her dances combined with her martial prowess. She was already a fan favorite by some, and those particular ones shouted out loud, yelling at the top of their voices and cheering for her. However, as Garret attempted to follow suit, much of the crowd stopped their cheering, and only looked on questioningly. There were those polite ones who still clapped however. Lastly, when Jin started his flurry of sword strikes and something about 'sales', after the performance right before it, the crowd had cheered. It wasn't the best. But for the most part, the crowd were excited for the league.

Lyolf's Legion
Lyolf's Legion fared much worse in the opening ceremony. There were a few forced laughs from Markus' words that were heard through out the arena. But for the most part, most of the audience simply rolled their eyes as they waited for the next performance from the legion. Zultar had come up next, but his bellowing was only met with more ridicule and mirth. There was even someone in the audience who shouted 'lame' for all to hear. Lyolf attempted to put a show as well, but with the attitudes of the audience already fed up with the legion, only booed at him, and simply insisted on the fight to occur.

Everyone
As the crowd continued chanting the word fight over and over again, and as you looked towards you opponents on the other side of the arena, you knew the time has come.

[info]Reminder, due to finals, initiative will be strictly followed. Force moving for players after 72 hours of inactivity. Will do best effort on reminding them, and allowance is fine as long as you message me if you can't post by a certain time. Sign up for the grid map when able. Also do not add the bonuses or modifier from the audience attitudes. Roll normally, I'll apply this myself when calculating.

Serena

Serena with the swell of the music playing from the stands seamlessly moves from her dancing into a battle stance that mimics the art of dance. By using the natural rhythm that people fell into when hearing music she moved slightly off tempo to the song that way when people tried to strike her they would have to go against their own subconscious rhythm in the process leaving themselves more open for a counter attack. In the process of her dance she manages to drink a potion smashing the bottle on the ground into something like stardust. This time she would be putting on a real show for the audience.

"And here we are, the final fight upon us at last!" the elf spoke aloud, his eyes aglow.

"....yay."

"Yay? Now that seems a little too dispirited even for you, my little feathered friend" the elven magus turned to the raven perched atop his shoulder. "We're finally past all that bloodshed, sacrifice, and tears, and now we've made it all the way into the very finals that seemed years away from ever reaching completion!"

"Except there was no lasting bloodshed and I'm not even going to mention the whole 'years' thing."

"Well..."

"Plus, you never sacrificed a thing."

"Hmm..."

"And I can't remember the last time you shed a te-"

"Now, hold it right there, Uli. I have shed tears - and quite recently, in fact," the elven told his familiar rather smugly

"Oh? Do tell."

"Tears of joy, Uli! TEARS OF JOY!!"

"..."

"That should count, right?" Lyolf spoke once more, as he shared a look with his familiar of many years. In the end, they both shrugged in perfect unison before chuckling despite the present situation. "In either case, is some celebration too much to ask for? We've done fairly well getting here after all. Win or lose, we should be able to take some pride in what we've already accomplished."

"But what purpose would it serve..? And for what reason have we even been fighting at all - or is this all just some contest to find the 'most egotistical of them all?'""

"Well, I was actually hoping to take home a prize of some sort. And as for that contest, we all know who the winner'd be"

"A prize - And we all know, alright? You mean to tell me you've been fighting this whole time for some 'prize' that may or may not even exist and could, for all you know, just be a simple handout parchment saying 'The Winner Is You!'" the raven asked sardonically, to which Lyolf nodded with much vigor. The raven sighed once more, using its wing to rub its forehead in exasperation.

"And what would you even do with such a prize once you acquire it?"

"Ah," the elf looked shock, the thought never occurring to him. "Good point."

"..."

"But perhaps it may make for a nice present for Rasputin. She hides it well, but lately she seems even more moody than before - nothing a shining golden trophy can't fix!"

"...You really do spoil that girl too much, you know? You and Kin both."

Grey takes the arrow in the shoulder but with a grimace he pulled it free and then threw it to the ground ad snapped it, With a bloody hand he hit his dragon hide shirt which seemed to drink of the crimson fluid and grow a brighter crimson in the process the hide seemed to breath as if it was alive once more and now a part of its wearer. He would not be letting a shot like that hit him again so easily. With his now somehow living armor he grabbed a potion from his bag and slammed it down in a moment .

Grey uses swift action to empower his armor with an enchant bonus of +2

uses a action to drink a potion of barkskin +5

damage reduces to 8 due to medium armor and leather specialty

"This distance puts us at a disadvantage," the armored merchant mused aloud, as he eyed his three opponents in detail. "Bows on all of their number and only a tiny bird to serve as their vanguard? It's as if they're inviting us to come charging into their midst."

Markus reloads his crossbow, steadies it. "Yes, yes I know Charles, I should be quite sure of this shot before I take it!" Markus shrugged. "Either way I'm sure we'll upset someone enough to draw that attention you crave soon enough!" as he looked back down the sight.

Grey slips his gloves on and stared at the caltrops scattered at his feet and smirked. If they thought that only his armor was special there would be quite surprised. Jumping from one foot to the other he looked over at Markus and gave wink. Jumping in place like this was hard but add in a front flip or two and you could get quite a lot of distance. He made a side spinning flip one after the other before landing on his feet and running forward.

[info]There's a mistake on the grid map. Jin has x3 run, not x4. So he should have went 60 ft. forward and not 80 ft. as what was done. I don't think much of anything changes as other charge distances are within expected range. Updated the map, with the anklet movement (10 ft.) as well.

Run

You are swift of foot.

Benefit: When running, you move five times your normal speed (if wearing medium, light, or no armor and carrying no more than a medium load) or four times your speed (if wearing heavy armor or carrying a heavy load). If you make a jump after a running start (see Acrobatics), you gain a +4 bonus on your Acrobatics check. While running, you retain your Dexterity bonus to your Armor Class.

Normal: You move four times your speed while running (if wearing medium, light, or no armor and carrying no more than a medium load) or three times your speed (if wearing heavy armor or carrying a heavy load), and you lose your Dexterity bonus to AC.[/info]

"Odd..." the elf spoke aloud, whilst notching another arrow to his bow. "Just now, I had felt the passage of many days in the span of nary a one," he continued, to which his familiar responded quite simply:

"....You're getting old."

"By nary a day!" Lyolf immediately countered, as he pulled back the bow-string with a renewed vigor, bringing the tension, both figuratively and otherwise, to its absolute limits. Only after lining up a near-perfect shot, did he finally fire - and with great relish at that. He glared back at Uli, only to find the bird already done with its task, a rather raven-like imitation of a smug grin clear on its face. "Just who do you pick up after..?"

"I wonder."

Title: Re: [IC] League of Extraordinary Merchants vs Lyolf's Legion
Post by: Zultar on May 10, 2017, 12:57:07 AM
Zultar was green. Very green. Very green and very red, puzzled as to why his teeth and horns met a warm sensation where he expected metal juts and dirt, or whatever weird stuff Jin put on his shoulder guards. It was so warm that it made Zultar feel warm and fuzzy inside AND out-

Jin's Flame Mantle made Zultar so very comfortable.

Normally when one's relaxed, their muscles tend to loosen. Oh, but not Zultar: if anything his muscles tense up in fear of what unexpected comfort crawls up in the heat of battle. Battle is not comfortable after all, so why should there be misfounded comfort! There must be some grave error here! Zultar doesn't fit the standard in any case, so It'd come as no surprise that Zultar clenched his teeth firmer and more obnoxiously on Jin's armor in the attempts to mangle it. He broke a tooth that day. And as usual, his short temper.

Just as Zultar was grunting curses at Jin's shiny armor, a bright white light blinded his vision.

"The Sun must have...EXPLODED!" Zultar thought, Still covered in the light, Zultar stuttered around, covering his eyes and wailing his stout body everywhich way. It occurred to him that if the sun EXPLODED, that all the meat in the world must be cooking! Zultar's mind reeled at the thought, of meat unending. But more importantly, that the sun would prevent him from vengeance (and we mean bite) upon Jin's face. That Jin was capable of such a feat shocked Zultar, made him feel small in this world. But also gave him courage-

Zultar survived the Sun exploding.

-Then Zultar had to remember about the white lights of his previous fights. Ahhh. So maybe not, Zultar thought. But it did not change Zultar's will to fight Jin.

You see, earlier Zultar was convinced that Jin's wares were spectacular, wondrous in all meat applications, particularly this "Jin Scythe" of which he used to relish many dishes, not that Zultar knew how to cook well but he enjoyed the crooked Jin Scythe narcissisticly shaped like his own name. Zultar happened to be cutting up some relish for his most PRIZED RELISH of the WEEK far into the night. It would take a long time until the timely preparations to complete his most magnificent masterpiece of a meal would be finished and so Zultar willed in within himself to stay yonder the night. It was during this time he noticed something occurring to his savings, his pile of gold, oft away on a nearby cutting board. Zultar saw his money magically flow into the Jin Scythe at hand, the scythe became more and more golden, more glorious, more illustrious, feeding greater and bigger amounts of gold each time without stop, without rest...LIKE JIN!!!

Zultar thought to himself for a moment.

He could care less for the money, but he could nor forgive his belongings becoming...GOLD!!
"HOW TOXIC! HOW MOCKING! For it to become GOLD instead of MEAT! What bigger WASTE can there be! RAWRRRR!!" And ever since the morning before this very fight, Zultar promised himself to quickly end Jin. Inexcusable behavior would be the least of Zultar's fathoms of Jin: the bright light at present did not mean Jin's end, or it might've been the sun exploding, who knows. For all Zultar could know, it was just another one of Jin's pesky tricks, a fake burst of light! Perhaps Jin teleported, Zultar glanced back on where he thought Llyof might be in the light. Maybe Jin's "Ass Send Chia" (another name for Essentia I'm sure,) allowed him to make maneuvers much like that dastardly Llyof fellow. Zultar did not care much for other meatbag's fighting skills and now he could only regret not learning how mages cast meat-cooking fireballs, or in this case, what exactly Jin's actions here were exactly. It could also be possible that Jin simply jumped in the confusion and was still in, Zultar couldn't so easily believe that Jin was offed just like that. Zultar was aware members of Galas'nor could jump very high. Begrudgingly, Zultar pictured Kin so easily gliding through the air, although not very impressively, Zultar thought to himself it was an acrobatic skill that would certainly break away from any gaps, gaps Zultar could not afford losing towards Jin and his "Ass Send Chia". But wait! Jin's been known to pull more than just simple parlor tricks. I've heard he can even...TRANSFORM!! So maybe-

It was then that out of the bright white that a small fist struck Zultar's jaw. A female dress in blue entered his sights as the clearly evident white light of Jin's transformation sequence faded away.

"THAT JIN TRANSFORMED INTO THIS UGLY, THIN MEATBAG! I SEE YOUR TRICK FOOL!" So it was true indeed! Jin CAN transform! Why he choose a frail, weak damsel-meatbag with pretty hair couldn't be any less confusing, or perhaps Jin hoped to appeal to Zultar's carnival desires. Not that it would ever work considering Zultar's meat loving obsession made no room for any sort of attraction...

Zultar's mind dazed for a few moments against the fist of his most dire foe, but whatever struck him wasn't enough to knock him indefinitely. Zultar's prowe told him that his opponent, Jin, wasn't as powerful as Zultar once imagined.

"HAHAHA! YOU PUNCH LIKE A LITTLE GIRL, JIN!" Zultar was about to unsheathe his treasured falchion, his blood boiling at the chance to slice Jin into pieces. However, Zultar quickly dropped the motion. Jin's next blow was already coming so that Zultar had to draw out a set of weapons more easily accessible: a bottle of fat and a jar of oil. Weapons Zultar knew he could count on to face against this "Ass Send Chia" Jin!

Zultar gripped his bottle of livid fat, guiding his opponent up his sleeve when a ghastly black blur whisped by, charging straight into Jin's bossom before Zultar's plan could be executed-

Uli, the black raven, had pierced through Jin's shemale form.

Another white light shrouded the mortal combat in blinding mystery. And Zultar knew better. Jin was not out. Too simple. Too weak. This light wasn't the safety teleport that Zultar was familiar with when he victoriously struck down Kin and the others. No, this was simply a ruse, yet another...

TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE! Zultar wouldn't fall for the same trick twice. Or thrice. He looked around him, the white dispersing once more. His eyes caught on to his fellow blockheads, Llyof and Markus of Llyof's Legion. Maybe Jin turned into one of them! Perhaps in the light, one of them was taken down and Jin assumed their form! Zultar stomped his right foot into the ground and was about to leap in misguided fury when he saw a third figure, opposite of where Markus and Llyof stood, their gazes against Zultar's, looking past him, looking at the third figure. It could only be another one of Jin's plentiful disguises. The real one was right there. Staring at Zultar. Bewitching his feral glare.

THAT, was Jin.

Therefore Zultar charged on all-fours towards Garret with a bottle of fat in one hand and a jar of oil in the other, sweat beading through the air, yells strangling the air.

He didn't remember quite what happened next.
