Title: OOC: The Silver Arms
Post by: Throndir on November 10, 2012, 07:20:54 PM
New OOC thread. From now on posts in the actual roleplay must be IC, elaborations of character movement/actions (that may not be properly explained in the rp), or dice rolls. These should be spoilered using the spoiler tags. Please don't think of this as discouraging OOC comments. Just pretend they're on the same thread, and instead of posting on the play thread, post here.

So, basically, if at all possible, use the OOC thread. If it's D&D mechanics, or the elaboration of, use spoilers. I'll do the same from now on as well.

It's really just to make it look a bit more streamlined and clean.

QuoteWill that kind of detection work Throndir?

Not too sure, before I used Knowledge (arcane) and Spellcraft, in order to determine auras. It functioned like a free Detect Magic.

There's a Detect Good spell, but it's simplified.

http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/detectGood.htm (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/detectGood.htm)

The problem is that:

QuoteThe spell can penetrate barriers, but 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt blocks it.

Whereas the reason Ardeth was able to detect the magical aura from before was that the place it's in is currently very saturated with it to be enough to affect the nearby foliage.

Going to get myself back in the habit of PMing people their roll results. I'll instead write up a quick description from the perspective of the party instead of the full details addressed to someone.
