It was already late in the night. Past midnight even, and the only sources of light were from the various lanterns lit about the guild's courtyard and the streets beyond. It was quiet in this immediate area where the guild hall stood, yet you knew that most of the activity was further and deeper into the city. The finals of the Tournament of Ternadan was still in full swing after all. The majority of your guild members were out there at the arenas cheering for their favorite team alongside thousands of others who gathered to view the spectacle of the final fight in the final day of the New Years Festival.

Yet there were a few of you who stood by at the guild, from either misery from previous defeats earlier, lack of any sort of interest in the proceedings happening at the arenas, tired from the day's activities, or simply drunk from the over consumption of alcohol during the day's festival events.

The fifty who stood by at the quiet halls simply passed the time waiting for their companions to return again. It would be a grand evening. The final two groups facing off against each other were none other than members from their guild, not a small feat for any guild in the large bustling city filled with hundreds of organizations. Regardless of who won, there would be celebration to be had.

It was then that you heard something. Someone yelling in the distance. You heard the warning shouts as some of your fellow guild members unseeable, but within earshot, claimed of an 'attack'. You didn't think much of it. After all, you very well knew that the guild was full of people who would more often than not over react from the slightest of things. Not to mention that more than half of the people who stayed behind were simply drunk. They were likely seeing things.

Someone near you shouted for them to shut up, but the yells grew more insistent, you were half inclined to see what was actually wrong. But you never had that chance. In a loud ear-splitting crack, the magical and seemingly impenetrable doors of the guild hall was forcefully opened, shattered as splinters of wood exploded and dust from the ancient oak scattering and filling the immediate area of the double doors. Shortly after that, the various windowed glass panes higher up, lining the walls of the guild hall too, shattered, with the glass pieces splintering even further as they fell and smashed against the cold floor.

There were some of you who responded quick, prompting those who were drunk to gather their senses. While others who immediately took up their weapons and proceeded to investigate at the front. The dust clearing as each of you stepped over the rubble that remained of the large wooden doors of the guild, the view from beyond it started to become much more clear.

Euralm Vangelis

There was a figure and the first thing you noticed that he was indeed floating in midair. At the very least he wasn't touching the ground and floated around five ft. from it. The stranger smiled as he looked on towards the rest of you. It was a strange and almost-twisted smile, if anything, you would have best described it as unhinged. His eyes stared at the few who stepped out of the doorways almost hungrily, as if measuring each of your worth. He wore pieces of golden jewelry. His bracers, necklaces were gold in some form or shape. Even the wands he kept at his side were either completely gold in color, or trimmed to include it. In terms of armor, he didn't have anything that stood out in particular, his shirt did little to cover his physique or his well-toned body.

But it was the beings next to him that gave you pause. Though some parts were familiar, the creatures surrounding the man were mostly composed of rather unnatural features: black three-headed dogs, flaming lions, and even a small handful of mephits.

"Well then..." the figure began, as he finished sizing up the guild members that lay before him. "Euralm of Teras'nor," he introduced himself with a bow and another half-twisted smile, amidst the wreckage of the main doors.

He twisted as if to show the emblem that was tattooed on his shoulder, and even in the night, it seemed to glow an eerie yellow.

"Pleased to meet ya."

Wolfrin Fenris

#3
Wolfrin sat in a chair beside a fire in the guild hall, Buddy laying nearby. It was rare that he spent much time in the guild proper, preferring to be alone in the forest outside Ternadan when he wasn't off on a mission or trying to gather information. However, this day had been eventful.

He had been chosen to compete in the Galas'nor tournament, his last match ending just hours ago. He'd spent much of the day fighting, but he felt fresh right now. After every match the healer's had done a great job, and his last one was no different. So now he sat here in a chair, a comfort he was no longer used to, contemplating the matches he had been in, the match he had lost, and trying to see what he could have done better. Wolfrin didn't like to lose.

The first warning he had was Buddy. His own senses were sharp, but the wolf's far surpassed his own. Buddy's head shot up, ear's perked, looking towards the large double door's. The motion caught Wolfrin's eyes, and he followed the wolf's gaze to the door's. A moment passed with nothing happening. But then he heard the screams. Wolfrin was on his feet in an instant, wary, and Buddy was no slower.

Some of the other members in the hall yelled drunkenly back, but the yells and screams just got louder and closer. "This can't be good," Wolfrin muttered to himself as he and Buddy slowly advanced toward the sounds. Seconds later the large double doors exploded inward, wood and splinters spewing forth. Wolfrin caught sight of one of the metal hinges surging forward only to make contact with the head of a drunken guild mate, who crumpled to the floor.

Wolfrin fell into a spell, his hand dropping to rest on Buddy's head. By the time the windows above them shattered, the shards rained down on the back of a much larger Buddy. Raising his head, he caught a peculiar sight in the courtyard beyond. A man, floating in the air, surrounded by hellish creatures. The man looked around at the few who had come forward to investigate, and Wolfrin met his eyes as they brushed past him.

The mark on the mans shoulder held no meaning to Wolfrin. So when the strange man finished speaking Wolfrin had one word for him.

"Why?"

"Well ya see." The man began as he began to tilt an angle, finally becoming completely upside down not a moment later.

"I figured this would be entertainin'" He had the same unhinged smile as he exploded into his spellcasting. A moment later, he vanished. Yet his cackling could be heard throughout the courtyard.

The creatures with him have yet to act, but you knew they would soon follow suite.

Linwelin

Vladimir was a bit disappointed in himself. He'd known he was nowhere near the upper echelon of the guild members, but to have been countered and disarmed so thoroughly left him feeling off. Still, he wasn't the type to turn to drink from such a thing. Instead, he'd taken a corner seat in the main hall and was reflecting on the fights he'd gone through. If anything, he wanted to learn; he wanted to improve. I'm an opportunist, but that seems to be all I have going for me in a fight. I need ways to break defenses while not in an advantageous position...but how?

He didn't hear the sounds first be any means, but sudden movement near the fireplace caught his eyes and shook him from his thoughts. Their focus was on the main doors. Odd, those two don't stir easily, what- He heard it then, warning screams and shouts. something was wrong, his gut churned in a familiar anticipation. This allowed him to be out of his seat and ready as soon as the magical 'crack' resounded through the hall. Vladimir ran forward to the center of the hall to meet the threat.

"Assault on the hall! Stand strong and push them back!" Vladimir shouted a rallying cry, hoping to bring forth solidarity and awareness faster. That was just before the windows shattered on all sides, and a man came floating in, summoning hellish beasts to bring in tow. At the sight and statement of the floating man, Vladimir growled out in rage. "Teras'nor. This is going a little too far, isn't it?"

But that didn't seem to phase the man floating before him, who simply exclaimed his entertainment. And then, he disappeared. Just like that. Vladimir would attempt to find him, but considering the creatures he left behind, Vladimir had no time to concern himself with the disappearing act.

He knew he didn't have much time to act, so he decided to prepare for a worst-case scenario and pulled out one of his wands.

Casimers eyes cracked open, he was still on the bunk he'd fell asleep on, his scales tickle a little which usually meant someone or something magical was nearby. He didnt get up figuring it was a guild member. The shouts and yelling didnt bother him probably just a couple of drunks argueing. A rumbling shook the guild around him and he jumped off the bed to his feet and grabbed his sword. Walking into the hall he saw a few member still dazed from the explosion which had clearly been the front doors to the hall for they lay in splinters all over the floor. The glass above burst and rained down clattering around as it fell, the splinters bounced off his scales but he was assessing the man floating near the doors and the creatures outside. He said a few things flipped up side down for a moment then disapeared. Walking forward casimer headed for the door and the inevitable fighting that would ensue.
