Kynn felt lucky indeed when the webs that began descending over their starting area didn't fall on her directly. She had very little experience fighting against mages, but she understood that to get stuck in those webs could mean the end of the match for her. Unfortunately, she also realized that now to reach her opponents she would have to force her way through that webbing, so she wasn't safe yet. She decided to remain where she was for the moment, to see if she might trick one of her opponents into becoming stuck.

Looking back she could see one of her allies just extricating himself from some of the webbing, and turning forward once more she saw her other teammate clashing with rather angry orc. Realizing she needed to help remove one of the enemies from the fight, at least temporarily, in order to give their team a chance, she turned towards the enemy dwarf next to the orc. She had wanted to keep this particular gift secret, to be used against the mage when his guard was down, but she realized that was no longer an option.

Through a process she still did not understand, she felt heat building in her chest, ready to burst forth at her command. She did something, she did not know what, and knew that she had changed her weapon slightly. Two can play this game mage, she thought as she took aim and spewed out a coruscating sticky line of dragon-fire towards her foe.

QuotePosting for Lyolf by 9 PM PST today. If I move him, he'll be casting Mage Armor or Shield on himself.

Gandin, son of Gehin

"Hahaha!" Gandin cackled as this half-orc known as Zultar attempted to do anything to him. The strike was darn spot-on, hitting Gandin right in one of his body parts, but the delivery was so poor and clumsy that Gandin barely even felt a thing. "You see this, Lyolf? Your teammates are horrible! I don't even need a band-aid after that one!" But that was where he had an opening, and he noticed it almost immediately. Zultar had just attacked, meaning he undoubtedly would take a moment to strike once more. Additionally, Grungril was already focused on running and being "unbrakabil", leaving Gandin a clear opening to perform one of the greatest feats of fighter prowess he had ever been given the pleasure of showing off. So, without skipping a beat, he took his opportunity.

Sure that it would take far too much time to put his crossbow away in the middle of a clash, Gandin opted to simply drop it do the ground in front of him. In the same swift movement, the dwarf reached up to the glimmering weapon on his back - his brand new enhanced Masterwork Dwarven Waraxe - and swung it out in front of him like a mad scientist excited to unveil his new greatest creation. Seemlessly, as if he had rehearsed the choreography numerous times beforehand, he pushed off the ground with his feet to move just far enough to his left that Grungril would be within comfortable reach at the moment Gandin needed him to be, and then he got to work.

A sly grin painted his face as he eyed the two opponents above him from his leaned-over position. He could see weak spots and grand openings all over the place, but in his position, there was only one thing to do to ensure that his single blow would give him the greatest results. With one hand, he spun around, carefully aligning his axe against the weakest points of his enemies. With mighty force, he swung the beloved axe at Zultar, channeling enough momentum to follow up the attack with yet another by going on to strike the dwarf Grungril with the same swing. It was the most satisfying single swing he thought he had ever swung.

It was only then, of course, that he realized his teammate Kynnstitia had used a breath attack on just the position he had moved to. It did it's job of course, not only pinning the enemy dwarf down, but also delivering a bit of preemptive damage to soften Gandin's target and ensure maximum pain infliction on his enemies. But on the other hand, this same fire was now also causing damage to Gandin. And it was not pleasant. Fire immediately singed his arms and legs and various other parts of his body. It wasn't anything dangerous to someone as resilient as the dwarf (as he had taken much worse in terms of fire damage), but willfully burning himself was certainly not his idea of a good time. He fought the urge to let out a cry of pain, knowing good and well that doing so would ruin the impressive display of true excellence.

But at the same time, that had to have been the most terrifying thing an enemy of equal skill could behold - to see a dwarf brandishing a waraxe like it was a toy and suddenly burst through a ball of fire to swing that same axe at them in a hurdling strike of impending doom. Gandin could only picture in his mind exactly what they must be seeing, thinking how downright epic it made him feel to perform such an action, despite how much it may hurt. He knew the attack was already downright epic to begin with, but was it worth it to burn himself in the process of making it that much more terrifying? Absolutely.
