[Kedric] Pokémon Wishlist: Cherubi

Cherubi

Hundreds of gigantic berries of every kind surrounded you from all sides. You must have found yourself in a place where berries lived happily, untouched by the grubby fingers of mankind. That is, up till now. Were they safe to take? Was this a protected area where it was perhaps illegal to pick the berries? You would soon find out...

Suddenly, one of the berries began to move. And then another, followed by several more. They were alive! These weren't berries! They were Pokémon! Most of them immediately began to flee upon noticing the trainer, but a pair of them lingered around. Now with visible faces which bared very troubled and angry expressions. They looked like they wanted to pick a fight with whoever disturbed them, and they were confident this human creature was something they would be able to take care of.

Cherubi

The first Cherubi took the hit like an arrow to the knee. It hit the ground like a giant delicious tomato, but it still didn't give up. "Biii!" it cried.

The Cherubi that had been in the tree nodded to the grounded one, then sprang into action. It dropped from the tree and pounced with tiger fury on the Sandshrew.

But the something unexpected happened. The human suddenly threw a mysterious orb through the air! Tree Cherubi yelled for his buddy to get out of the way in case it was dangerous, but fortunately he didn't need to. The human had terrible aim and the ball landed several meters away.

This left the shrew at Ground Cherubi's mercy! And since it had attacked first, Ground Cherubi had no choice. It had to defend itself. With a mighty rage, it lept into the air in an attempt to crush the creature under three kilograms of solid berry juices.

Cherubi

Undaunted by its failed attack, Ground Cherubi rolled over again. From the corner of its eye, it could see the human thing flailing its arms with enough force to fling another mysterious red and white ball, but Ground Cherubi saw soon after that it could rest assured the ball would never land anywhere close. This one, too, landed several meters away. How could any creature have such awful aim? Had it no dexterity at all?

With that out of the way, Ground Cherubi puffed out its chest and almost attacked Digger again, but it soon realized it would be much more effective if only it had been in better condition to fight. But lo! It had a cure for that! The surrounding trees blocked some of the sky, but there was easily enough of an opening to harness energy from the sun. And moreover, there was equally more than enough time to make it count.

But soon, the Sandshrew regained its composure and immediately attacked. Thankfully, Ground Cherubi noted, it didn't go for the same target twice, but that meant he was attacking her brother! Tree Cherubi was in danger! With a mighty jab, the Sandshrew stabbed Tree Cherubi right in the face, poking him with his claws, but thankfully not piercing the skin and letting delicious berry juices pour out like a soda fountain.

Now it was Tree Cherubi's time to shine! With his sister taking some time to heal up, it was his turn to ground this offender into cherry dust! Tree Cherubi charged like a raging rhinoceros right into the tan shrew, hitting its jugular vein with a mighty thunk!

The shrew writhed for a moment, but ultimately the damage was minimal. It would take much more than that to down a trainer's Pokémon!

Kedric watched in amazement as one of the Cherubi seemed to visibly recover. He grinned.

"You walking Berry! That is exceptional!" He smiled as he moved forward, closing the gap to Tree Cherubi.

"Digger attack ALL THE BERRIES!"

Kedric shifts 6 meters closer to Tree Cherubi. Kedric throws another pokeball. Digger attacks the Ground Cherubi.

Cherubi

Now thoroughly rejuvenated, having absorbed some sunlight to give it a bigger will to fight, Ground Cherubi was ready to start laying down some punishment on this intruder for laying a finger on her brother! As unfortunately minimal the effects of their attacks seemed to have on this Sandshrew, they still were slowly winding it down. In just a few more strategic hits, there was no doubt in Ground Cherubi's mind that they could take down this beast!

But then something most unexpected happened. The human, still as clumsy as ever, threw the girliest pitch Ground Cherubi had seen yet. At first, it looked like it would veer off in the same manner the previous two throws had gone, but this time, the trainer was obscenely lucky. The moment the red and white ball left the trainer's hand, the wind picked up just enough to push the ball into the tree Tree Cherubi had been hiding in. From there, it bounced back a bit, hit the ground, and roll over to Tree Cherubi in just the right fashion for the button in the front to tap Ground Cherubi's poor brother.

And then things got real. The ball opened, releasing a red glow, which engulfed Tree Cherubi and pulled the poor cherry Pokémon in, locking it inside. Tree Cherubi visibly struggled from the inside, but the prison was much too powerful, and the orb clicked as it stopped wiggling, making it clear that Tree Cherubi now had no hope for escape.

"Ruuu! Bi!" Ground Cherubi shrieked. There was only one way to save her brother now. She huffed an angry breath of air and then launched herself at the shrew Pokémon. Unfortunately, she had timed it slightly off and only hit her opponent with a minimal blow. The shrew seemed virtually unaffected, but that didn't mean it wasn't ready to retaliate.

The Sandshrew once again jabbed at the Cherubi, putting enough force into its attack the Ground Cherubi was sure it could have pierced her silky skin. Luckily enough, Ground Cherubi had a bout of adrenaline flowing through her amongst all the berry juices and she was able to move out of the way just in the nick of time. Good thing, too! That could have been the end for poor Ground Cherubi!

"Fear not oh gracious Berry The Second!" Kedric proclaimed as he began closing the distance to the second Pokemon.

"Your turn will come soon enough I assure you!" The Team Rocket grunt lowered himself as his eyes flashed gleefully.

"Allow me to show you a move passed down through generations. This was taught to me by my very mother!" With that Kedric reached out for the Cherubi.

Kedric attempts grapple.

Cherubi

The Cherubi took a step back as the human began to move in. She didn't know what he had planned, but judging by the disappearance of her brother, it wasn't good. She wanted to run so badly, but leaving her brother at the mercy of this abominable creature would be something she would have to live with forever, and that was something she knew she couldn't do. No, she had to stand her ground.

And then the human pounced! It's nasty fleshy skin gripping firmly on her delicious berry body. She was aghast! In her defensiveness, she had left herself prone! Who was she to think she could possibly have stood up to this monster? She was in way over her head, and now she may pay the same price as her poor brother. The very thought literally made her nauseous. But maybe that was a good thing...

Not quite thinking clearly and desperate to escape the human's grasp, the Cherubi did the first thing that she could think of. With a great well of courage, she puffed out her chest the best she could and then let out everything she could in one magnificent projectile of vomit. The slightly acidic liquid covered Kedric's front from his chest to his lap, chunks of berries and half-dissolved leaves scattered throughout. In a way, it was amazing the cherry Pokémon was even able to carry that much in its belly at once. Ground Cherubi herself was a mite surprised at this turn of events, but she regretted nothing. If it was indeed her fate to be captured in the same fashion her brother was captured, then she would not go down without putting her captor in as much discomfort as possible!

"Come! My faithful companion Digger!" Still dripping in berry juices, Kedric edged his Pokemon as he continued his grip on the Cherubi. "Help me grab Berry The Second!"

Cherubi

The Cherubi squirmed in the human's arms, try to no avail to break free. It was in a panic. It's puking hadn't worked, although it did a number on the trainer. If Ground Cherubi could do that attack again so soon, he certainly would.

But things were suddenly getting even worse! Now the Sandshrew had joined in to the fray and was holding her down just as tightly as the human! Now was definitely the time panic! She squirmed even more this time, trying with everything in her to break free of the duo's gasp, but alas, she was not strong enough.

But there was something she could still do! With a mighty thrust, she kicked her foot out and planted it right in the middle of the human's face. It was hugely satisfying feeling the thump against her stumpy legs. He ought to be out for the count after that one! Right?

Wrong! The human, feeling no remorse or pity, lifted the berry Pokémon high above his head and then smashed her against the ground like some kind of rag doll. The pressure was nearly enough to knock her out cold, and she thought that was the end, but her body's integrity was a lot higher than she thought.

Instead of splattering all over the ground like any normal berry would, she bounced. She soared off the ground like a bird, reaching heights beyond her imagination. The ground grew further and further away until... gravity. She came crashing down again like any regular basketball. If nothing stopped her, she would bounce away and never be able to save her brother! There had to be something she could do! But what? There was nothing to grab hold of and she hadn't the dexterity to land on her feet. She hated to admit it, but she be at the mercy of the human who bounced her in the first place after this one. What a horrible fate she had had thrust upon her!

"And now Berry The Second!" Kedric said as rubbed his nose, slightly bruised from the Cherubi's mad thrashing. "Into the ball you go."

With that the rocket grunt pulled out his pokeball, and began to smack it into the Cherubi.
