Pok?mon Wishlist: Shroomish

The creatures attempted to hide from you, but you saw them clearly. They started a mad dash to get away from you, to attempt to escape, but you closely followed, shadowing the Pok?mon until they finally found itself cornered with a river blocking its path. The Shroomish turned to face you.

The Pok?mon wasn't really one Miera would put effort into capturing, she knew they were not usually very fast or have very good attack. However, it would eventually evolve, with hard work and a lot of training, into a very useful Pok?mon that would have a very high attack and a fairly good speed. It could also learn fairly useful attacks that would aid in keeping the rest of the party healthy. Besides, with her speed versus its own speed, it was not very much trouble at all to chase it down. Sending out Vesper, she told him to use leer on both of the already frightened Shroomish. Hoping that plus the effort they put into trying to get away might be enough, she threw a Pok?ball at one of them.

Vesper leered at the Shroomish, which only furthered their fear, as they attempted to shrink back more from the leering Pok?mon. For indeed the sight of an Espurr leering was quiet scary indeed.

The Shroomish are slightly confused whether to hug it or run away from fear.

And although Letina's throw was perfect, the Shroomish broke out. The Shroomish then retaliated, as they began to attempt to absorb Espurr's life force.

There was no time for curses at the lost Pok?ball. There never was time for such a thing, really. Miera thought fast. She did not want the Shroomish sucking away Vesper's life force like that.

"Vesper! Use Covet!" She called, hoping he remembered their training well enough to remember to observe first. When Vesper attacked, she threw another Pok?ball at the same Shroomish.

Vesper attacked back with Covet, closing the distance as it successfully hit the closest Shroomish. It wasn't enough to bring it down however, though you knew every bit would help. You saw the opportunity to attempt to capture, but as you threw your Poke Ball towards the target, your aim was off, and the Shroomish was able to easily dodge the projectile. In retaliation, both the Shroomish attacked back again, using the same move they had used previously. Vesper managed to dodge however, as it cleared out of the way.

Vesper ran back to Miera, dropping his stolen goods before turning his attention back on the two Pok?mon before him, awaiting his new orders. "Vesper! Use Covet on the other Shroomish!" Miera called out, pulling out another ball and throwing it at the same Shroomish she had tried catching with the previous ball.

Vesper quickly dropped its mushroom, as it proceeded to steal the next Shroomish's items. It managed to nab another smaller mushroom in its attack. Shortly after that, Miera's Pok? Ball came flying in, and within moments that Shroomish was captured. The last Shroomish attempted to attack, and successfully absorbed some life from Vesper.

Aiming to be an Ace Trainer, it only made sense that she try to capture both Shroomish, just in case one was better than the other. If she could not capture both, though, then she might as well get some extra real battle experience in for Vesper. "Use Scratch, Vesper!" Miera called out, hoping to weaken the other Pok?mon just enough that catching it would be easier, but not to much to knock it out.

Speeding forward, Vesper unleashed a flurry of scratches on the remaining Shroomish. Shortly after, Miera threw another Pok? Ball. However, the Pok?mon was able to escape. The Shroomish attack back.

Miera somersaults to the ball that had landed in the grass and picks it up.

Vesper attempted to send off another round of scratches, or at least, it tried to. Instead however, what happened was that the moment it lunged again, Vesper lost his balance as it came spiraling down at the ground. He overshot too much, and Vesper's claws dug themselves deep into the ground.

It was the perfect opportunity for the Shroomish to attack back.

Seeing Vesper's failure to make one last attack, Miera resisted the urge to face-palm mid-somersault. Their next training session would be working on his balance. They could NOT have this happen in an actual battle.

Not wanting to pull out her newly-caught Shroomish, Miera decided to take things into her own hands. Literally. Having successfully picked up the Pok?ball, she decided to intimidate the remaining Shroomish into going into her last ball. Standing tall, the girl looked down upon the Shroomish. Slowly, she walked closer, her expression making it clear and simple that if it tried to run, she would chase it down. Stepping up to it, she loomed over it.

"You may have been able to defeat that little fur ball of a klutz, but do you really think you could defeat me?" She indicated Vesper before pointing to herself. "If you just get inside this Pok?ball, I will train you to be the best you can be. Not to mention, you will be able to live happily with your friend when we are not training. If you do not get in the ball, I will beat you to a pulp of a mushroom and you will never see your friend again." As she spoke, she continued with her gestures, holding out the Pok?ball that she wanted the little mushroom Pok?mon to enter and doing her best to get across that it would be much happier with her than the alternative.

The Shroomish who had just successfully beaten its opponent cowered back as Miera made her way forward. To the Shroomish the sight of the lady was menacing, after all this was the very person which had sent an evil Espurr out to both steal and scratch from it and its companion. The Shroomish shuddered visibly under Miera's shadow, but just when Miera towered over the smaller creature, it made a yelping sound, and started to turn around to run away.

The movements were haphazard however, and within the first few steps, it tripped and fell.

A sigh escaped Miera's lips when the Shroomish turned to run rather than do as she said. It would not get far. She was trained to stalk and not lose the target. It would not get away. And indeed, it did not, as the girl watched it trip over its own little feet. She took this opportunity to walk up to it, but instead of kicking it or some other abusive action that she had threatened, she squat down to pick it up and set it back on its feet. "You can run and you can try to hide, but I will chase you down and I will find you." She told it, before offering the ball out. "This is your last chance to let me train you to be the best that you can be."

The Shroomish looked around hopelessly, and it was easy to tell that the small creature was intimidated by the human who towered over it. When Miera came and picked it up, it had attempted to wiggle its feet to get away, unfortunately the small creature's body simply did not allow any sort of action. It thought it was certainly doomed, smashed into tidbits by this human's feet. It squeaked in defiance, its short stubby legs wiggling and attempting to get away from its attacker's hold.

But then the strangest thing happened.

Instead of being smashed into nothingness, it was placed down on the ground again and turned to face the human.

It seemed to understand what Miera wanted, but it continued to look hesitantly at the ball in front of it, neither fleeing, but nor was he making any move forward.
