QuoteInform is a design system for interactive fiction based on natural language. It is a radical reinvention of the way interactive fiction is designed, guided by contemporary work in semantics and by the practical experience of some of the world's best-known writers of IF.

Inform is great for games but only if you already understand the basics of coding. Inform was used to create the most epic of older text based games, Zork. Though it doesn't require extensive amounts of code as does Dark Basic Pro/ Dark Basic GDK(they use all Basic languages) and like Python(it uses C++ primarily but I do believe any C type(C# C+ and C++) can be used in it). It's a very user friendly software. I suggest, from experience, to learn JScript using Legendary Tales Editor first then work your way around. LT is also very user friendly and will help you get a grasp on programming. C++ is probably the most advanced language you can learn I have learned a little but not much along with Basic. JScript(AKA Java Script) is good if you plan to make your game playable online. A gaming website, along with any other ssite will require PHP, MySQL, and JScript, for some features. Most MMORPGs you play online are written in C++.
The following link is for a download it is 2.93 mb, it is a PDF tutorial for using Inform software. It was created back when Inform 6 was used but can be used for the current Inform7. Hope you enjoy and HAPPY CODING. :D
