Tales of the Guild (IC) / Heartbreak

There was a light knock on Kryas' door, as a set of lithe hands patted on the door. It was from Lia, and unlike her usual robustness, for some reason today her tapping was light.

"A-are you- there?" Her voice seemed to crack, as if from stress. There was a sound of sniffling as well.

Tales of the Guild (IC) / Homecoming

"Ehehehe." A light, almost giggly laugh escaped from the lithe figure as she grinned and smiled at the various people around her. The people around her were citizens of the city of Ternadan, and though many of them simply gave her a strange and awfully wondering look at this elf who seemed to giggle for no apparent reason, Lia Starweaver didn't mind. So what if they stare? Never mind those judgmental glances!

In fact, the elf reveled in it all. It had been years since she last came back to Ternadan. Years since she had last walked the busy streets and corners of the ancient city. Years since she last graced the city of Ternadan with her presence. Indeed, today was a grand day, not only for her, but for the city itself!

"Ehehe." She started again gleefully as a kid walking by glanced towards her. A moment later some lady, presumably his mother, hurried him along, and Lia could swear she said something along the lines of not making eye-contact with strangers. That only made Lia grin the wider and called out after them.

"Don't let how awesome I am blind you!" She said playfully. The mother and her child quickly disappeared, though not before the mother turned back to give Lia a nasty look. The mother probably didn't even understand what she was saying. The elf only shrugged. What did she expect? This was Ternadan after all. They've been treated to years of the strangest of behaviors and the occasional spell blowing up in the town, yet time and time again it's as if they never really got used to it. Do something strange or exciting and the people still clamor on about it for months to come.

Randomly waving at passersby, Lia moved on, joyfully taking in her surroundings, and examining every detail she would come across in her trek through the Ternadan streets. She wanted to see how things had changed. If certain shops were still around, if people still looked familiar, if the general populace still acted the way they did. If the mother from before was any indicator however, her latter observation must still be true.

A few merchants had called out to her, seeing if she was interested in their particular baubles. But Lia only waved at them and moved on. She had a goal in mind after all. The paths were familiar, and soon enough she started remembering all of the other past steps she had taken in the very streets she walked. She was raised here. She had many memories as a young elven child running around the busy streets. Her parents lived in the city too. Yet Lia wasn't aiming for her parents' home. No. It was somewhere else. Another building that she regarded as her second home, and a place she can arguably say she was much more familiar with.

Soon enough as she walked into the premises of a courtyard a large set of wooden doors greeted her. Towering high above, with its sturdy and solid wood the door looked as it always did in her memories.

It was the guild.

She smiled to herself.

"I'm home."
