Emperor Wilbers

Today, I am going to tell you a short story about a wise old prophet named Cladicus.   Cladicus was a monk of the Holy Order of Alubon, the great capital city of the nation of Tenna. He was the highest ranked monk of the order and was very knowledgable on most things. One day wide-spread tremors unexpectedly shook the city, and caused considerable damage. Cladicus warned the monks that the quake was a warning sent by the gods that there is a disturbance in the Rift, the only thing keeping the sane world and chaos apart.   The other monks, stubborn and ignorant of the wise monk's knowings refused to accept that that was the fact. Cladicus tried with all his might but could not convince the other monks. The monks got together to conspire against Cladicus, claiming that he was letting his age get to him, and that he needed to be expunged.   However, the monks were wrong and Cladicus had in fact NOT lost his will and his sanity. Cladicus did not give up. He sat in his study all day and night thinking about what he could do to help them see, before it was too late.

Infinite Knowledge is Not Enough

It had been three days of thought, three days of collecting countless threads of information to try to comprehend the answer to Cladicus's ensuing problem. He had scoured his thoughts and racked his memory for the slightest of a lead that would give him the strength to prevent the future. After years of meditating and requiring knowledge he had not once come upon an occasion in which he could not determine the answer. After five days of searching his brain by meditation he had given up at looking inside of him. He knew that he must look for his anwers elsewhere. Cladicus knew of several sources of knowledge he could look for, but, to get to them he must leave the city, and head for the mountains of Nuuk, where lies the Great Library of Arten. Arten is the god of knowledge, so what better place to look then his library. Cladicus made the plans to leave right then and there, as there was nary a moment to waste. He packed his things and exited the city walls. Cladicus could see across the open plains the Mountains of Nuuk. The mountains formed a wall 10,000 feet high, and there was only one way over them. One way that Cladicus did not want to have to take. The Pass of Sigren.

The Three Brothers

Very few know the truth about immortality. Even fewer know the effects it has on one. Cladicus knew about immortality. He was disgusted by it. Immortality as Cladicus knows it is a horrible infection that corrupts the minds of weak willed men and encourages them to make extreme decisions. Besides the gods there have been but three immortals, all of which were men. The three were brothers, born around 400 years before the present time. The eldest and first born was named Elcerius. Elcerius, the wisest of the few was very cautious and did not take many risks in life. Beorn, the middle child was flighty, and travelled a lot. He, unlike the elder brother, took many risks, but he did make sure not too put himself in the midst of danger. The youngest, Narron, was shy, and curious. As a child he would digest rabbits, frogs, and all types of animals and stick them to the walls and would label there innards. He was an outcast in his family and as he got older became very dark and mysterious. At the ages of 25, 19, and 16 the brothers recieved their immortality from the gods. They were destined to save the world from the rising power of Men, who would, if not stopped, destroy themselves and the world in trying to get more power. The eldest heeded the gods' words and put to work. The middle child committed suicide because he did not want to be put under so much pressure. The youngest, Narron left his remaining brother and became a nomad. The eldest was left with the entire job. He had a tall order, but he did it. 30 years later and at the age of 45 he settled down with a family and lived to an old age and died peacefully in his sleep. The youngest was out in the world after he left. After 5 years of travel he settled down in a cave and lived there for the rest of his life. Once he got there he made himself cozy and set up a fort, if you will. He practiced Necromancy, Alchemy, and other sciences. After mastering the arts of Necromancy several years later he joined up with 3 others with a common goal: Take over the world. With his group they took over town after town, and then cities, and then countries. Once they had roughly 75% of the known world conquered they were killed, with the exception of Narron, who used his powers to defend himself. The assassinators were unknown to him, but he did not want to die so soon and removing his powers, so he retreated leaving the remaining independent nations to take over, and leaving the world back to normal. He retreated to the Pass of Sigren where he stayed for the next 350 years. He has not been seen since, and that is why the Pass of Sigren is so feared.

NOTE: HE conquered most of the world AFTER it had been saved by Elcerius, so it kinda sucks for Elcerius, lol.
