Anyone read this by Brandon Sanderson? It's an upcoming epic fantasy series that's supposed to span over 10 books. This is the first novel in the Stormlight Archive series, and it's real good. I'll try to summarize:

The assassination of King Gavilar prompted the start of war between the Parshendi and the Alethkar Kingdom. Six years later, war still broils with no end in sight. Armies clash on the Shattered Plains, with powerful storms washing over the landscape. We follow four unique characters throughout the book: a surgeon who fights to save, an assassin who weeps as he kills, a scholar who lies for a questionable purpose, and a prince who questions his own ideals on war. One may redeem us. One will destroy us.

Very well written, with many twists and turns as in Sanderson's other works such as Mistborn and Elantris. Highly recommended, I think Sanderson is really setting the bar with this series. He is becoming one of my favorite fantasy authors ever.
