Today was an interesting day, rumors had abounded that your assignments teacher Ms. Firestart had gotten into some sort of argument with the chairman of the academy. Some intrepid students had attempted to listen in at the time to get to the so-called 'juicy' bits, but they were quickly caught and the doors shut to prevent unwanted ears. Even so the school was abound with quiet whispering between the students, partly due to the fact that the teacher had never butted heads with anyone before, and also partly that any sort of drama in the school usually circulates within hours. At least to the students, it kept the school interesting.

Ms. Firestart had been calm as she waited for the class to quiet down. Yet, it was almost plain to see that she seemed annoyed, or at the very least, perturbed by something. There was another in the room as well. A man dressed in a white laboratory cloak with a pair of glasses. He looked young, at least for being one dressed in a lab coat, and he was comely enough. A couple of the girls earlier had been whispering to each other, and giggling too earlier when the students had first come pouring into the class. Yet, for one reason or another the young man seemed to not really pay any attention to the class - he looked as if his mind was either busy with something, or even preoccupied with nothing.

"Class, this is professor Fanner, he's a League scientist coming to the class for a special request. Now be sure to give the man your full attention," Ms. Firstart said. Her voice was edgy, and you figured it must have something related with the rumored outburst circulating on campus. It was a surprise that the teacher pushed the students for that extra bit of attention, it was common knowledge that Xan Academy, along with plenty of other institutes as well as labs, were funded directly by the League nations.

"The professor has an announcement to make, and after that we'll begin our regular studies. Professor Fanner, if you please?" She said, finally glancing his way the first time for perhaps since the two had been in the room.

"Ah yes! Thank you Ms. Firestart, and please call me Eric." He said. A moment later he proceeded to turn to the class. "There are some manners that the League is trying to understand - if you will. We've gathered as much data as we can from our various researchers, but it looks like we'll need some help. We've posted the request to other institutions, like academies as well as day care centers, but because of the nature of the request it was decided that a representative visit in person for each site. For the prestigious Xan Academy, that would be me." He explained.

"The request is simple, we are asking for Pokemon. Specifically trainer's Pokemon. We need as many possible. We are asking students from around the nation to donate them. We'll of course handle all the required processing for both your Pokedex and our PC system. And fear not the Pokemon will not come to any harm." He sighed, but he looked around the class with a solemn expression.

"I cannot divulge much more information, but the matter is serious. As for compensation, we will be providing $4000 for each Pokemon given to us, with the money delivered to your accounts once transfer has been completed."

The class was silent, though there were a few students who whispered to each other. There were even some of the more unscrupulous trainers who continued to glance the League scientist's way even after his request.

"Thank you professor Fanner." Ms. Firestart said as she waved to get back the attention of the class.

"The pleasure is mine." The professor said. "You can find me at the academy's lab if you have any Pokemon." The man bowed once, then proceeded to get out of the room.

Once he was gone, Ms. Firestart sighed audibly, she didn't say anything else related with the subject however, and instead began the usual routine of class.
