The Edge Hotel / Guest Cabin 1
December 25, 2014, 05:48:22 PM
This cabin is part of the larger main building and is not an actual cabin. It still has three sleeping quarter rooms, a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a "living room".  It was originally used by Edelia before she expanded the Edge into a hotel, so it is significantly nicer and could be considered the suite of the hotel. This cabin is reserved for repeat "visitors" who help Edelia keep the Edge stocked with supplies or who are somehow important to Edelia.

This ballroom was converted into a library/museum of sorts. It houses books and items that visitors decided to give to Edelia in exchange for their stay, making it into a sort of museum of time and space. Edelia requests that items not be handled without her permission and with cautionary care should permission be given.

The Edge Hotel / Ballroom 2 (The Actual Ballroom)
December 25, 2014, 01:04:17 PM
The only ballroom actually used as a ballroom in the Edge. It is usually pretty empty unless there is an event going on. This room has a stage on one end, so it could be used to practice and perform plays or musical shows. There are tables along the walls that hold food and drink during events, but they are empty otherwise.

The Edge Hotel / Ballroom 1 (The Tournament Room)
December 25, 2014, 01:03:52 PM
This ballroom was actually converted to be a tournament room for sports-related activities. It is usually pretty empty unless there is an event going on. It could also be used to practice, but that does mean those needing to use it would have to set it up and take it down for the particular type of sport they are wanting to do. There is a large storage area one one end of this ballroom that houses the supplies for a variety of sports.

The Edge Hotel / The Park
December 25, 2014, 01:02:36 PM
The park is like a patch of forest with a long winding path throughout it. There is a small creek that flows through the forest and connects to itself via a pond in the middle of the forest. A bridge allows visitors to cross the creek to the portion of the park it surrounds. The inner part is like a meadow with patches of wild flowers.

The Edge Hotel / The Pool + The Courtyard
December 25, 2014, 01:02:03 PM
The pool area is just one large pool of fresh water (kept clean via magic since there is no real way to drain it and bringing in new water takes a lot of work) surrounded by a courtyard. It looks like the average pool/courtyard combo you might find in a resort from what some visitors call Earth, except minus "vending machines".

The Edge Hotel / The Gazebo/Garden
December 25, 2014, 01:01:23 PM
Pretty much just a garden with a decently sized gazebo in the center. It looks like an Oriental visitor from Earth may have helped design it, as it has a zen look and feel to it. It is not entirely Oriental, however, as there are flowers, bushes, and trees from a variety of places incorporated into the design.

The Edge Hotel / The Exercise/Training Room

This building is reminiscent of a exercise or training gym.

The Edge Hotel / The Game Room
December 25, 2014, 12:59:43 PM
Board games and table-top games from all over time and space have been collected here for entertainment purposes. There are even a limited amount of "video" games. They are very limited, however, as it is hard for Edelia to provide continuous power to them.

The Edge Hotel / The Bar
December 25, 2014, 12:59:13 PM

Although Edelia prefers her domain to be peaceful and tranquil, she allowed for a bar to be built next to the restaurant. She has a warning system to help prevent trouble. The first time a drunk visitor causes trouble, if they have taken a room, they will be asked to go to their quarters or else they will be dragged to them. If they have not taken a room or they have already caused trouble from getting drunk before, they will be flat out tossed out of the Edge and blocked from reentry. It is okay to get drunk in the bar if you do not cause trouble. If you think you might cause trouble, it is okay to lock yourself in your sleeping chamber and get drunk so long as you do not damage what belongs to Edelia.

The bar offers a variety of alcoholic beverages collected from a variety of times and places. It also has its own staple concoction collected occasionally by employee supply collectors.

The restaurant offers a variety of food and beverages collected from a variety of times and places. It also has some fresh fruits and vegetables magically grown by Edelia in the garden and the park of the Edge.

The Edge Hotel / The Lobby/Hangout Room
December 25, 2014, 12:57:01 PM
This room is large, with many plush chairs, couches, benches, and tables for lounging around on while hanging out with others or while waiting for someone. Some of the tables sometimes have snacks on them, brought in by employees.

Imagine finding a door. It looks like any other door you have seen. You are not sure where it came from or why it is there. It just is. Perhaps only you can see it at this point in time, or perhaps others are with you who can also see it. Upon entering the doorway, should your curiosity spur you into investigate, you find yourself stepping onto a path. Before you, you can see what looks like part of some sort of resort, surrounded by a tall wall.

The path continues to a large, yet welcoming building with a fancy but rather old-fashioned sort of sign that reads

"Welcome to the Edge Hotel"

In smaller letters, you can see that it suggests you follow the path to the closest door. Upon doing so, you find yourself in a comfortable little office. Like the sign, it had an old-fashioned, medieval fantasy sort of feel to it.

"Welcome traveler!" An Elvin woman in the gown of a Lady greets you. "I am Lady Edelia. Please, allow me to explain this place."
Sorry its just a tektek/Gaia avatar at the moment. I haven't been able to draw in a long while.
From there, the woman goes on to tell you of how the Edge Hotel is like a space outside of all time and space. It is meant to be a place of peace and for resting the mind, body, and soul of weary travelers of the path of Life. Its single gate connects to all times and all places, but is not visible to nor accessible by all. The doors have been magicked so that those of evil alignment simply cannot see or go through them. (Those of Chaotic alignment may or may not be added to the list of those excluded should too many chaotic aligned characters cause trouble in the peaceful resort.) One may enter, but may only leave back into the world from which they came. Whether they leave at the same time as another from another realm, each visitor will be returned to the same time and place from which they left their own world. There can only be one of the same visitor in the Edge at a time (meaning your 20 year old self cannot be in the Edge at the same time as your 60 year old self; the door simply will not be visible to your past selves while you are present, and will not appear to your future selves because while you are in the Edge, you are no longer in your original world).

Visitors are allowed access to most of the hotel's land, but passing over, under, or through the wall surrounding it besides through the gate is forbidden with no exception. Those who still choose to attempt it are at risk of eternal death and possibly winking out of existence.

"Overnight" visitors are given a sleeping chamber within a "room", usually to themselves if possible, but sometimes it is necessary to make arrangements for room sharing. "Rooms" are more like cabins, with three sleeping chambers a piece and containing a bathroom, a kitchenette, and a dining/central room. The resort-like hotel boasts luxuries such as a restaurant and a bar, a game room, an exercise room, a park, a pool, and ballrooms, among others. Edelia has also installed a way for it to mimic day and night, with a sun, a moon, and a full set of stars, to give the entire place a feeling of time passing.

There is a limit to how long you can stay at the hotel as just a guest at a time, though most visitors do not stay so long that Edelia would have to make them leave. They usually get restless before they have overstayed their welcome.

Lady Edelia shows you a map of the entire property, assuring you that there are more at various locations around the place, just in case they are needed.

This roleplay is going to be a little different from others we have done on the forums. Each area of the hotel will have its own thread. New characters entering the Edge will always pass through the Edge Entry and the Office first. Edelia will give them a room/cabin number to add to their character sheet/profile if they are going to be staying for longer than a few hours and from there, they can explore different areas of the hotel. New permanent characters (employees) may make a new introductory thread about how they became an employee of the Edge. This would probably be best done as a single story or a closed RP with the new character,Edelia, and maybe other employees of the Edge, but you can open it up to all if you want.

Upon leaving an area, please put in bold at the bottom of your post that your character has left the area. This helps prevent characters who enter the area after your character has left from interacting with your no-longer-present character. (Side Note: Edelia will not always be in the Office. She does have other employees who watch it for her as well.) I am setting it  up this way to ensure that all characters have a chance of interacting with all the other characters rather than only when the roleplayer wants to join a particular roleplay, since it really would not happen that way in a real life resort. Side threads will be made for special events, such as holidays, balls, or tournaments. Because time does not actually pass here and is only mimicked, Edelia has her own calendar she goes by.
Name: Lady Edelia
Gender: Female
Age: Unknown
Character Picture:

Physical Description
Edelia is an Elvin woman, pale of skin with golden blonde hair. She is 5'6" and of the usual petite Elvin build. She usually wears the clothing of an Elvin lady, also wearing fancy accessories.

Personality
To most visitors, Edelia appears to be a kind Elvin host. To those who cause trouble within the Edge, she is very stern... She is, however, slow to anger and prefers to handle things logically and with kindness before having to take drastic measures. Some people might see her as a guiding parent rather than just a hostess.

Background
Edelia somehow keeps the Edge afloat while running the resort-like hotel. It is currently unknown why or how she does this. just that she does and welcomes visitors from all over. Most of her history is unknown, very few staff and fewer visitors know of her past.

Room #
No room number. Edelia lives in the unlabeled building in the back by herself.

In your thread title, are they a [Permanent Character] or a [Temporary Character] and what is their name? Please keep in mind that permanent characters must be approved by Edelia, as that would make them employees of the Edge.* Please include their profession within the Edge if they are permanent. Temporary characters are guests.

Please keep in mind that the doors have been magicked so that those of evil alignment simply cannot see or go through them. ...

Pretty much, this would be its own roleplay forum in which there will be a main thread for all characters to interact, but side threads may also be created (such as balls, gaming tournaments, etc). "Lady Edelia" somehow makes it possible for the space to exist outside of time and space. There is a history in why and how she made it, but that is something that will be expanded upon as its story plays out. There are "employees" within the Edge who run various facilities and keep the place stocked and maintained. They may be retired adventurers, fearing death and so choosing a life outside of existence, or they may simply be curious travelers who decided to help out here and there as they come and go. Permanent characters may be made specifically for the roleplay (such as my Lady Edelia), though this roleplay would mostly be for everyone all over the forums to bring their characters in to test out before committing to them, or to have fun during slow periods in a particular roleplay, or whatever you want to do. Character sheets (even just simple ones) would be preferred (it would be awesome if they were posted (or linked to in a post) in a sub-forum that will be called the Guest Book, even if they were posted elsewhere on the site), but they would not be necessary.

More to be expanded upon later. Feel free to ask questions here.

Live Roleplays (OOC) / [Completed] The Circus
December 11, 2014, 02:19:06 PM
Session 1

Gandin and Callista were planning on going on a mission together. Having gone on several missions together in the past, they had decided on a designated meeting place in which to wait for the other. Although the faerie had seemed excited to take on the quest they were planning for, she was unusually late. Gandin had waited a full thirty minutes after their set meeting time before storming up to the women's dormitory to either drag her out or see if her roommates might know of her whereabouts. Annia had not seen Callista since the day before, but let Gandin and Kin, who had been in the area when Gandin explained the situation, in to show them Callista was not there.

Kin climbed up to the rafters to see if Callista's hidden sleeping quarters housed the faerie. After getting attacked by two traps, the halfling got close enough to see that it looked like the faerie had left her usual mission gear behind. While Kin was doing this, Gandin stole six pairs of Aria's panties from a pile of dirty laundry on the floor by her bed before Annia could put it all away. When Kin tells of what he found out, Annia recalls that Callista had been very excited about the circus that had been setting up and how she could not wait to see it. The circus had been up and running just outside of the town for two days now.

On their way to the circus, Jin and Zultar join the group. Upon entering the circus after paying a gold coin for the entry fee for all five of them, Jin immediately spots the food court and decides to set up shop to sell some rotten meat he had collected from a previous mission. Using a wand, he cast a spell to make his meat look like the finest mean one could buy. At the same time, he cast another spell making the food other stalls served look mediocre at best. The circus guards get suspicious of this, since they know all the circus stall owners and they know that each and every one of them must pass a test and receive a symbol that proves they are approved by the circus to sell food there. Gandin tries to help Jin by sneaking off to steal papers from another stall, but gets caught. When he and Zultar try to intimidate the guards into letting them go rather than kicking them out of the circus, they run to get the circus' two strongmen, leaving one guard to keep watch on Jin to make sure he does not wrongfully sell. By the time the other two guards return with the strongmen, Gandin and Zultar had rejoined Annia and Kin and started their search for Callista. Jin was kicked out of the circus and told he could only come back after he got approval from their testers to sell. Instead, Jin put on a disguise and came back to rejoin the others.

After many hours of searching and receiving mostly the same responses such as "I haven't seen a girl like that." and "there are a lot of little girls running around seemingly on their own. Its the circus.", Annia finally hears that some circus performers had been seen talking with a strange young girl. Kin goes to try searching some of the tents to see if he can find her, but comes back with nothing. The group goes in search of a circus performer they can ask questions of and come across a boy who is an acrobat in training. The boy is willing to tell Annia and Kin what he knows, but is intimidated by Zultar, so does not share everything. Instead, he takes Annia and Kin to two older boys who he had heard were the ones ordered to capture the strange girl. Zultar follows behind, but Jin and Gandin stay behind to try their luck at the games.

The older boys are cocky and apparently stupid, as it takes little to get them talking about how they were told to capture the girl. They do not know why they were told to do so and can only say that they know she was taken on ahead to the next town, Magnolia. The group forces them into taking the group to where the circus master's wagon should be. They find the second in command instead and force him to tell them all he knows. Which turns out to be less as far as information about the faerie goes, but they do learn that the circus master went ahead to the next town.

Callista Fae | Alaenoria Stalleeci

"Oh! A magic shop!" Callista exclaimed upon noticing the sign. Alaenoria's shop, huh? Wasn't she the lady elf who brought herbs to the guild's infirmary? When the faerie had noticed her bring some in one day, she had asked if the elf woman would pick up leaves that she thought were good quality for Callista to make faerie clothes with. The kind lady had agreed. One day, if Callista ever found large enough leaves, she would make something for Alaenoria, too!

Zipping in, the faerie looked around with wide eyes. The elf lady had a lot of magical stuff! Her eyes focused on two signs hanging next to a rack of wands. Seventy-five percent off! Oh! What a deal!

"How much are these after the discount?" Callista asked, pointing at the wands. She was not even sure what kind they were, but any wand on sale could sell for a lot more later on in the future. If they were useful, she'll probably keep them instead.

Alaenoria looked at the wands. Whoops. It looked like she had forgotten to take those signs down from a previous sale. Well, it was too late now, the faerie had already seen and it would make her look bad as a shopkeeper to deny they were on sale when they still had signs up.

"The wands of Cure Light Wounds and Magic Missiles are 183 coins a piece." She replied.

"Oh! Good!" Callista exclaimed. "I'll take five of each." Maybe she should buy more... After all, she could resell them for their regular price later on... Nah. She was supposed to be looking for Christmas presents, not spending all her money.

Taking down the wands, the elf laid out five wands of cure light wounds and five wands of magic missiles. "That will be 1,830 coins."
Subtracting 1,830 from Callista's bank account.
