Name: Viktor Kozlav Alias: Book Keeper Race: Caucasian (Russian) Country of Origin: Russia Age: 12 Build: Small Weight: 90 lbs Height: 4'5" Eyes: Ice Blue Hair: Brown |
History: As a foreign orphan, Viktor did not have the opportunities most are presented with, which caused him quite a bit of trouble. But he made the best of what he had, and soon found a pass-time to lighten the load of the days on the streets. Books. More specifically, words. Of course, he had been unfamiliar with the language of most of the books in the giant building called a "library", but he did not give up, as his curiosity had been peaked. He treated the countless novels and references as puzzles, a game, and would spend as much time as he could. Though this did not do much for his speech in terms of conversation, he was soon pronouncing words flawlessly, and completely understanding their uses and meanings. As he had never been schooled, learning like this was a new experience for him, and he had quite a knack for it. Were he not a street-bound orphan, he would have easily been recognized as a genius of language. However, that was not meant to be. In time, he began to explore and reflect on what words DO, and not just say. Sure, the words stood for some existing object or place, but could the vice-versa be true as well? While these thoughts circled aimlessly through the young boy's head, strange things started happening. Day by day, Viktor noticed strange events occur that almost directly reflected what he was reading. Stranger yet, it only happened when he was reading, and when his habit of trying to read a word aloud to learn it surfaced. At first, this scared him, but soon he realized that he was the reason these things kept happening. With this realization, he decided to intentionally make things happen. At first he just tried saying the words, but to no effect. He then tried reading out of a book, but still nothing. The trick to using this power still alluded him, until weeks later, a thought occurred. Focus. He needed to focus on the form and use of the word. He didn't need to merely say it, but to will it. His first use of the power intentionally caused the walls of an entire room to shine brightly with "light". Though an amazing spectacle to witness, he passed out almost instantly from the strain, and realized upon waking up that he needed training in small doses before he could ever do something like that again. And thus the story of the Book Keeper began. Power words are a unique ability that function based purely off the hero's voice, the more energy (volume) is poured into a word the more powerful it becomes, though words that use less energy tend to function longer as well as not inducing as much strain on the speaker. Level 2 enhancement: Can now chain cast words once per day. The levels of energy are: 1. Whisper 2. Normal 3. Loud 4. Scream |
