The crowd continued to roar as people came up front to see how far they can make the ball go and ring the bell. They roared in glee as big men like Zultar, Golas, and Wolfrin went up to bad. Laughed when women or children would attempt. And when Kin went up, there was a silence that was hard to fathom.

To everyone's surprise Annia took first place, followed by Nyuko, then lastly tied for third would be the newcomers Zultar and Gandin. Some people complained that the whole thing was rigged, a wizard or one of its ilk was probably messing with the hammer and results in the background. But none the less the complete upset was soon forgotten, drowned in the merriment of the festival and the numerous other events of the New Years.

QuoteRewards:
Annia: Warhammer of Spell Stealing +3 (chance to steal a magical effect on the target)
Nyuko: Warhammer of Shocking Burst (extra 1d6 lightning, extra 1d10 lightning on crit)
Zultar: Benevolent Warhammer (increases aid another bonus)
Gandin: Corrosive Warhammer (extra 1d6 acid)

Golas Rorn

"WHAT?"

Golas stood by shocked that Annia was able to beat the rest, not to mention a scrawny cat boy. Though he was a bit surprised, Golas was generally good-natured and it didn't take him long to sit back and laugh at the situation.

"To think I'd be on the same level as Kryas..." He left the thought hanging, though he had spoken openly, he had spoken it more to himself than anything else.

Annia Siadon

As the bell rang hard and clear, Annia could only hope that she had scored well. The others did well. But as soon as the results were announced, Annia could hardly believe it. There were others who looked incredulously at her, surprised probably that she made it to first place. It made Annia feel uneasy, and she had even blushed slightly at all the attention. It was true Annia trained daily, sparring often with Golas and Kin on their spare time, but she wouldn't have expected to beat both. She ignored the stares and went up to the large man.

"I'm just as surprised as you are Golas!"
Better a truth to be told openly, than lies spun to mask it.
