Burdenking

Unsure so far of how the game will go, so i'll be placing down three settings for three ideas i like. we'll vote on which one we do. if there is a problem with the choices, people may make suggestions on how to make it better, or nominate an entirely different choice. whatever is liked by the most people wins.

Setting

1: The story will take place roughly around the year of 2700, where mankind has just now begun to push outside of it's solar system. ten years into what became know as "Operation: Manifest Destiny", the three human governments set out to colonize, hoping to gain power and control by the aide of new resources and planets. By using varying methods, such as terraforming, bio domes, or simply space stations, the three earth governments began to race for control.

In order to help the race go faster, a single all purpose vehicle had to be made. one that could construct massive structure, move supplies at high speeds, and to provide policing to the outer colonies. This lead to the creation of the M.O.D.S (Multi-Occupational Dynamic System). M.O.D.S. were semi large robotic tools, standing roughly 14 feet tall and weighing on average 20 tons. They were mostly designed to appear humanoid, to allow more convenient and recognizable controls to colonists and other users.

With the help of M.O.D.S., the rate of colony construction boomed, sending humanity into what most called a golden age. However ,this golden age was not all as it seemed. Twenty years before the release of the M.O.D.S., humanities governments came into contact with an alien race calling themselves the "Kl'taun" Initial attempts at communication were obviously doomed to fail, as neither race had any idea how to translate the others language.

The initial contact was left as an odd meeting, both sides awkwardly backing off into their own territories to decide how to react to this. or at least, that's what humanity did. Around 3 years after the first M.O.D.S. came out for public use, reports of dozens of outer colonies being attack by an unidentified enemy poured into the central systems, initially causing panic. But the central governments had feared for this, and put their first of many contingencies into effect. First, all three governments released a line of military Grade M.O.D.S., equipped with weapons, systems, and armor design for combat. The next, was to begin evaluations within their defense forces to find the best pilots available. Finally, All three Governments agreed to temporarily drop any claim to being an independent organizations, unanimously declaring that humanity shall stand together to fight this new threat. These plans brought hope to the people and created a mindset that humanity would win this war easily with their combined power. They were wrong.

eight months into the campaign, around 30% percent of all active military M.O.D.S were eradicated, and the win/loss ratio was  1 to every 4 conflicts. Outer colonies were were attack, and even with the valiant efforts of the military, the likely hood of victory was always low. Within a year, 90 percent of all outer colonies were ether confirmed to be destroyed, or have gone silent. Also, nearly 45 percent of the inner colonies have been destroyed. The enemy is proving powerful, and only now as new technology is gained and superior M.O.D.S. are constructed, are the odds of victory increasing, but is it enough, or will it be another case in history where it was to little to late?

(human mech's will roughly be similar in design to Gundams from the first generation. Ex. Amuro's white mobile suit, or Char's red zaku.)

2: This campaign is set earlier then the last, in the year 2200, but in a different universe. Humanity as finally, for the first time in history, been unified under a central government that controls all of the world. using an advanced weapon system known as Combat cores, The government has conquered all opposing forces, reducing all of the technology older then that combat cores to such low numbers, no military force on the planet can use them to effectively fight the empire.

After the destruction of their enemies, the empire set out to pacify the civilian population, forcing all of them into special zones called " Cells". These cells are large areas of wilderness where civilians are forced t olive with the only the most necessary technology. the most technologically advanced thing in the cell's that the civilian population can access is an antique washing machine. while the civilian population of the old enemy nations are pacified, the citizens of the empire from before the war are given ample food, supplies, and living space, each of their citizens living like nobility while the residents of the cell's on ether forced or contracted for any form of manual labor.

However, with in the unsettled areas of the world, surviving military forces and free civilian populations have banded together to try and rebel against the empire. realizing old military technology would be suicide to use, the resistance took to stealing Combat core that were outdated and deemed obsolete. Scavenging what they could where they could, the resistance began to build it's forces, and plan it's operation for their reveal to the world. Their mission is freedom, and failure means total control over the world for the empire.

(theme will be similar to Code Geass, where the main enemy's common mech is more advanced then an allies mech.  Energy weapons will not exist in the beginning, but may become available later on as the resistance ether researches their own weapons or steals the empires old toys.)

3: In this one, time will not be important. You will be a pilot for the hit Television show known as Robo-warfare, a gladiatorial like show where teams of mech pilots duke it out with one another for prestige and money. however, the populace doesn't know this, but the company that runs the fights has enslaved the fighters ether by contract wording or by pure threats. Each fighter is not fighting for money or fame, but for their own survival. It's win or die, as the losers are "removed" from the sport as soon as they lose, and never seen again by anyone. Do you have what it takes survive in this entertaining show of bloodshed and violence, or will you just be another "loser" who couldn't last?

Characters:
In all three of the settings, your characters will be the pilot of their own mech. They will deal with both the hardships of war and the interactions with other people, weather they be good or bad. All three settings, in my opinion, offer ample opportunity to develop a believable character that hopefully you will enjoy playing.

Mortality rate:

With the first option, it is likely that mortality rates will be higher then moderate,  but not so high as to make it less enjoyable.

setting two will be the same as number one in regards to mortality rate.

And for the third option, a loss will mean the entire teams is "dead", unless something in the story happens to change their fate. this will maybe have a lower likely hood of death, as if the whole team wins, the ones in the team who were taken out won't be killed and will be well taken care of.

System
System will be based on the GGG rules and mechanics, but i will focus on making a great story so i may take some liberties in order to make a more enjoyable game, as the rules in the book says i should.

Note on Character Classes
Character classes will basically be their specialization in combat, and that's about it.

Who would be interested
whoever loves awesome mechs punching each other's face and a good narrative.

Throndir

Whoo I'm interested in it. Tbh I'm open to any setting, juts whichever everyone else wants to do the most.

Burdenking

Quick note, each setting will have certain limitation on mech construction, to better fit with the theme.

limitations for setting 1: very few actually, as you will piloting prototype mechs that the human governments have pour trillions of dollars of work into. the only real limitation is that energy weapons will drain twice as much energy as they normally would and required to be large and bulky. so like say you want a beam rifle? the beam rifle would take 2 energy each shot and would end up being a massive sniper rifle like construct that is probably around 3/4ths the size of your mech if you choose the hybrid chassis. also, mech's base stats like armor or energy are reduced by one at default, to simulate the enemies advance in technology.

limitations for setting 2: in this one, all of your mech's stats such as evasion, armor, and 2 points lower normal as default, to simulate the use of older less efficient models. Energy weapons of all kinds will not be used by mechs, and will only likely be large gun emplacements. this will remain so until ether the resistance discovers a way to miniaturize the weaponry or the technology is stolen from the empire. Also, mech are unable to fly, as the technology required to do such a thing is in the hands of the empire, and it's only used for their most experimental and  new combat cores.

limitations of setting 3: this one has little to no limitations to the creation, as variety is the spice that keeps robo-warfare the top show. technology is very advanced, and readily available for the gladiators. however, large super weapons are very limited, to the point where only the most trusted champions are aloud to use them and even that's a rare occurrence. To simulate this, weaponry with a cost of 4 or higher are unavailable for gladiators unless given as a reward for performance.

Emperor Wilbers

Hmm, they are interesting concepts. I would be interested in them. Particularly the 1st and 2nd one. If you want to start it, go on ahead. Ill join.
