How should we handle our daily earnings?

Remove the custom ruling, the Daily Earnings sheet, and prevent players from posting for profit. Eg, all earnings must be from guild missions.
Keep the system as is. Characters earn free money per real life day, and don't have to worry about paying anything back.
Include costs calculations along with earnings, eg: Paying rent, food, travel, etc. From this point forward, meaning older characters do not have to pay an initial down payment.
Include costs calculations along with earnings, eg: Paying rent, food, travel, etc. Pretend it existed since the beginning, meaning older characters can potentially owe a couple hundred gold pieces.

Alright, we talked about this briefly before on the shoutbox. We didn't really come to a good conclusion on how we want this implemented though. So as usual, we'll do it through the community.

Background
We have an automated way of earning money. This came into light because some players wanted to create stuff using their professions to sell for profits. Being in a forum setting, nothing would have stopped a player by saying "I spend the next 5 years making and selling shortbows, at 10 gp each." That or even posting 50+ threads on creating stuff and selling them for profit. So, to fill that need, we went and made a Daily Earnings sheet where we enter a character's craft/profession/perform skills, and have it calculate how much you earn per real life day.

We came on to two issues:
1) Characters who did not have a perform/profession/craft ended up being a lot poorer compared to those that did.
2) Our oldest characters are literally sitting on thousands of gold. Eg Sophie, our guild maid, who's been doing the same thing for three years now.

Solutions
The proposal to fix #1 is that I'm giving everyone a base 'profession', which will be 'adventurer', at least in terms of daily earnings calculations.

We have no current fix for #2. Not sure we need to, as they did join earlier. But say when we're all level 15. How do we handle if a new player joins the forum? I suppose we can do it case-by-case basis. However some ways to alleviate this is by including costs. We have players also pay for rent/food/travel/etc.

Anyways look at the poll above and please vote!

Thanks for voting, looks like we're keeping the system as is.
