"Maybe we can... But we don't know how they'll react to it," Luna said in response to Virgil.

"We should take precaution. You guys should hold off approaching them, I think!"

And so she suddenly thought of casting a defense spell on the whole party now, and began speaking the chant.

"Craft the light in hearth's fire weave it well; weave it higher. Weave it now of shipping flame; None shall come to hurt or maim. None shall pass this heaven's wall; None shall harm from any of all. Be the light that shines the path; of shield's might and light's wrath.  Come forth shield of the many:  Bulwarks beam. Skylight caress, the shine of heaven's gleam!"

When Luna casted the spell, a hazy light appeared and wrapped all of them for a second and disappeared gradually.

"Okay now! Off you two go. I'll follow suit," Luna told them.

Luna turned to Kerrick then looked at the others and said, "Oh, right we got company. They are ogres. What could have brought them here?"

She started bracing herself as well for anything that could ensue.

"I heard they have slow reflexes but thick skinned," Luna said further to the others.

"I'd like to join the patrol group too. If there's anything I can do to help out, will be glad to do so," said Luna.

Gael was sizing up the man. Looking at him from head to toe, he looks like he was wearing some expensive stuff.

"Yeah, tell us what request it is you need to be done," he said. "And what is in it for us?" We could use some form of payment, ya know," Gael added after which he looked at Lia mischievously. Then he turned back to the man and waited for him to respond.

"Well, there's something that needs to be retrieved... " the man started...

It was an intense spectacle. I was in awe at how strong and big Japirthur was. The three men seemed like dwarves beside him, and he threw them like they were small fragile dolls.
All of the people in the tavern also stopped from drinking for a bit to watch the fight, some dropping their jaw in the process. It only lasted for a few mins, after which people turned away their attention to it and went back to what they were doing as if nothing had happened. The three men lying on the road  injured and no one seemed to bother that they were. They must be infamous here for robbing people and they just got used to it.
I looked at my mug, noticed that my ale is almost gone. But then my stomach grumbled angrily as soon as I found that out, so I decided to order something to eat and not just another drink.

Gael was just observing how the events will unfold as he took a sip of the ale from his mug in a chill manner. "Ahh! This was supposed to be a relaxing evening," he thought to himself. But part of him also wished that something out of the ordinary happening in this boring evening would be kind of exciting. So, he decided to heighten his senses just in case. He took notice of Japirthur and recognized him, as would be impossible not to see someone as burly and big as him.

Gael whispered to Lia, "What do you think they are up to? Seems to me they're looking for some trouble," at which time Lia shouted to the three men. Gael wasn't surprised she did, though. "Let's see what's next," and he held up his mug again to take another swig of his ice cold ale.

Gael is inside a tavern drinking ale while sitting at a corner table near the entrance when three thugs forcefully pushed the swinging door, making it bang against the wall loudly.

I looked at his surroundings in hopes of finding a clue or something. I had a closer look at the presumably dead  goblin's body near him. He is definitely dead and blood is still flowing from him, indicating a very recent death.

The man still had his eyes closed.

I went around the tree to avoid being noticed by the man. There are a lot of things running through my head, a lot of questions still unanswered. I didn't know where to go yet, only that I should not be seen by any creature we might encounter. Even the girl I am with I am starting to have doubts about as she hasn't told me anything yet and just kept sobbing.

I helped the girl walk as we were heading out further away from the village. She was still in bad shape and pretty shocked state. If we stayed any more near the burning building, we still might be endangered plus the fact that there are goblins around who might see us, who we're not sure if they're friends or foes. I realized most of the nearby hedges and foliage have caught fire themselves, so more reason for us to be as far as we possibly can away from here.

I looked to the direction opposite the building where the goblins cannot see us and started heading for it, to a forest where the trees are tall and thriving that will give us a good hideout place. "Trust me on this, all right? We have to move as quiet as we can getting out of here," I told the girl.

It's a relief to know we are far enough from the building to be safe. I pulled the girl near me so that she was facing away from the building as it viciously crumbled down on its foundations. Looking ahead, I wondered what those goblins throwing flammables on the buildings had to with everything and what the story behind it is. I just saw them. They haven't noticed us yet, and I hope they won't. Goblins are mischievous creatures. I can only wonder what they would do if they did.

In the meantime, I should talk to the girl I just rescued and find out more about who she is and what happened to this village. So, I looked for a place where we can be comfortable and out of sight of anyone who might see us. Squinting in the distance around the vicinity, I did find a row of hedges tall enough to hide behind several feet from where we are. We should be careful not to be seen by the goblins on our way there.
