Story / Re: And So The Sun Rises
September 01, 2016, 02:35:35 PM
Sho looked wryly at Haizi, enjoying the presence of so many people who didn't seem too put out that they had been thrown into prison.

"Perhaps they intend to release us into a controlled environment to hunt us in. Either that or we will be held in this room indefinitely." The man mused.

Then he turned to Muyin and Sakuya.

"That's one way to look at it. Another is that we haven't been fed for days and are dangerously approaching starvation. I hope that absolves me innocence in your eyes, Muyin. What about you, Miss?"[/navy] He said, directing the question at Yuehao.

"Do you have any escape plans?"

(This first post is going to be annoying but I'm trying to stay in character. Fair warning and tons of dice ahead)

By far the most talkative person in the group had been Sho Setsua. He oddly didn't seem too put out by the whole thing. Every once in awhile, he would come up with an escape plan and try it, but so far nothing had gotten the group out of their cells. He would also entertain the group with story telling and singing before thirst really started to get to him.

He was accused of casting charms on people, though really he was just applying his persuasion to get what he wanted. When the guards had come to take Setsua, he went with them without resistance, even striking up a friendly conversation on the way back. This was partially to try to make a friend who wouldn't be cruel to him in prison, but also to try to figure out exactly what was going on.

(Since Read Intentions is repeatable until you fail, here's what I'm doing in order until I either fail or you rule it takes up too much time. Don't forget to roll me extra dice for Appearance

Either way, once he got to prison, Sho wasted no time in familiarizing himself with his cellmates. There was always room to make more friends, and befriending people you might be spending years with was never a waste of time. He kept them amused and entertained with conversation, as best he could, all while getting an idea of what kind of people they were.

Hahaha sounds like we might have either a good rivalry between the high-class knight and the low-class bumpkin, or they might be a great dynamic duo. Let me know when you have more details!

No name yet. Just a title. The Smiling Knight. I've maxed out melee and socialize along with a few other key combat and social stats to back them up to make a warrior of high-society, and an artist with investments in performance and linguistics. An entertainer as much as a knight who's combat style mostly focuses around defense and waiting for just the right moment to unleash a mighty attack, using timing to make up for their poor strength.

Edit: Also they are a Night class.

Aion chuckled after the guards called her out for papers. The warrior glanced over at the halfling with a smirk. "Apparently she didn't have it in her. One second." He held out his hand for the rest of the ground to stay put as he fixed his hair, straightened his cloak and strode forward to the guards confidently, flashing a smile at both of them. He gave each a firm nod.

"Sorry about this one." He said, gesturing towards Callista and shaking his head apologetically. "My name is Aion Loucelles. I just arrived here a day ago and took care of the Cliffpoint Bandits at the request of the law enforcement here. However..." He said, with a grimace. "...I must say, I would happily trade away any reward I would get from that job to simply be introduced to your palace chef. I'm a chef myself..." He commented, showing his equipment in his back pack. "...And I use my adventurer status to pick up on interesting new dishes around the world. We'll check all of our weapons in with you and be out in less then an hour. Would you get a message to somebody who could let us in and let them know what I want? I would appreciate it. I could even teach your chef recipes he's never heard of as well!" He said, his genuine excitement seeping into his request. The man really did want to learn recipes.

Aion exhaled deeply. This was really coming down to the wire. Fortunately all the spells he cast had decent enough duration to allow for 5 more shots at the shortest, but a few of them could last for twenty-five more shots. Still, as he squinted into the distance to see his shrinking target, he deeply doubted his own ability to land the marks. All compunctions about using magic had flown out the window when he noticed that his opponent was pulling out as many tricks as him. And even though Aion knew that there were two first place winners, he needed to defeat his enemy for other reasons.

Discussion / Episode 1
June 11, 2015, 01:25:52 AM
Alright so everybody, with the exception of a few, is properly introduced to their spirit. Those who feel they're ready and would like to do stuff, we can start planning here. For example, Marcus and Lancer are going on a tour tomorrow. Might be a fun time to fight or get ambushed. Lets hear ideas and stuff!

Marcus shrugged. "If you want I could call you servant. Whatever makes you happier." He said haphazardly as he chugged through a few gulps from the bottle.

Then he pointed at his servant. "The world is very big, and probably won't fit in my pocket..." the thief started gesturing with his hands to show the size of it, then shrunk it down. "...Maybe we steal something smaller?" He offered before taking another drink. Noticing Jangar was fresh out of wine, he reached into the fridge and carefully handed it to him, not bothering to throw it this time since he was already feeling the effects.

"I would call it a tour." He commented. "Because its going to be great! I haven't gotten to see the Statue of Liberty up close yet."

Aion looked around at the other two men to either side with a satisfied expression. He looked just short of crying out of happiness that he'd done so good and made it this far. With a deep, calming breath he drew his bow once more. The warrior's eyes honed in on the distant, distant target, examining all the possible futures for the best angle. It all came intuitively from years of training, with barely a thought drifting in his head. He began pulling the string ba-

"Hey can I have my bow back?" The ranger he'd borrowed the weapon from chimed with his hand outstretched for it.

Aion dropped the weapon in a panic, stumbling back and tripping over a rock, slamming himself down hard on his head. As the whole crowd stared at him, he felt the entire world stop and slide back a few moments. He was pulling the string back, but stopped. Aion turned and smiled at the man brightly.

"Just a few more moments, please." He asked the ranger, who gave him a sideways look before slinking off a few feet away, arms crossed.

The shaman couldn't help but chuckle, and tried to hold it in. The tension was insane and that had totally broken it for him. He sighed and decided to take the moment to cast another spell or three, as well as use a small leftover from his paladin training. This felt different. It wasn't concentration, or a need, or a desire to win. It was pure, true confidence.

Braxton looked the other guild members over, tilting his head upon hearing such high scores being announced. He seemed to be nodding slowly with approval as each one knocked an arrow loose. Eventually he seemed to decide something and stormed up to take his place silently. The huge man pulled a bow off his back, so tiny in comparison to his arms that it looked like it would snap the instant he pulled the string. It bent uncomfortably, any archers in the crowd who saw would feel deeply sorry for that poor bow, being forced to bend for a man who would be much better suited to a greatsword
Looks like Braxton will be the sixth since the last post and therefore not in the same round as my other character
The bounty hunter set his hat down gently on the table, rubbing his gloved hands together with excitement. Braxton's chair whined, squeaked, bent and moaned under his titanic weight. As soon as he entered the stage, the cook's eyes grew wide and the head chef started barking orders with increased urgency and less coherency. Considering the man looked like he could eat half the other contestants as an appetizer, it might be a reasonable precaution to make more food.

Braxton cracked his knuckles load enough for everyone there to hear. The man had just finished slipping on a fresh new shirt and a set of push-ups to get the blood flowing for the contest. His muscles were so over-developed that it was hard to imagine such a man could do anything remotely acrobatic. Braxton was practically chuckling with anticipation for the start of the contest, so much so that he simply cut in line, his massive form casting a shadow over at least three people behind him waiting.
#13
Braxton sauntered into the area where the contest was being held. It would be hard to find a man more suited for such an activity. His muscles budged and stretched his tight, tan shirt with every movement. There were those who became muscular through time in the field, and those who worked out just to show off. He seemed to be a combination of two types, and not afraid to show it off, hence joining the Flexing Contest. He picked up a pen, which looked hilariously tiny in his gigantic grip, signed his name in perfect cursive on the paper, and moved to the back room.

The bounty hunter folded his arms, making his body look like even more of an upside down triangle. Braxton's eyebrow raised when a gnome went onto the stage, then fell down, the rest of his face dropping into a scowl as a scrawny lizardfolk did his best flex. Finally a human who looked like his torso was less thick then Braxton's biceps went on stage. The man shook his head, smiling smugly. He uncrossed his arms, fixed his hat and ran a hand along his blond goatee with thumb and forefinger.

With several massive strides, the giant man barged onto stage with a commanding presence, the first actually muscled contender in the flexing contest had entered. Mr. Pentecost did a prolonged twirl while flexing, showing off every muscle he could. After his full 360 he turned around, stuck both his arms in the and flexed those absurd bulges to the extreme. In that instant his shirt fragmented like a stone being sundered. Like iron chains breaking. The scattered tatters that formerly made up a shirt flew as far as the back of the room, leaving him there in nothing but his leather pants, gloves and hat.

The crowd was silent, and he just stood there in the same post, chin up and smiling proudly with a big, perfect, toothy grin. The crowd stayed silent. His smile drooped into a frown, eyes darting from person to person in the crowd as none of them cheered for him. Braxton lifted up one leg and slammed it down on the wooden stage, snapped the planks in twain and sending a few splinters to either side. The sound echoed through the tent as he leaned in, his giant form looking even more unbelievable while up on the podium.

"What, youse blokes will clap your mitts for those bludgers-!?" He shouted with a booming, overwhelming voice as he did a little ironic clapping motion while rolling his eyes.

"-But ya won't cheer for a Blokey-bloke like me? Izzat it?!" At this point the crowd might feel in actual physical danger, as his hand hovered very close to the bladed whip slung at his side, hanging off his belt.
Since I haven't fully decided on his appearance yet, I'm keeping this post ambiguous
A large man could be scene stalking the field on the outskirts of the crowd. So far out that it was completely possible he was out of bounds for the actual main part of the scavenger hunt. All that could be scene from this distance was that he was quite big, and had a whip at his side. He trekked through the area, his posture and mannerisms suggesting he was hunting game of some kind, or tracking prey. Regardless of anything, he certainly didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the guild members out here having fun, so perhaps it was best he was at the outskirts for now.
