Religion at this point of time in Sythrilia is not just belief; it's the real deal. Religion is what determines everyone's fate. Your race determines your religion. So, if you are a man you worship Kos, and if you are an elf you worship Marenkon. Orcs are the Atheists of Sythrilia. They believe that they are their own lord and they are to determine their own fate. This is the simple way and structure of life in Sythrilia.

There are thousands of Gods in existence, and each of them pertain to an aspect of the mortal world. The most popular ones are Marenkon, Kos, and Taron. The whole plot line centers around those three gods. Kos and Marenkon get into a feud and they create Elves and Men to fight it out for the gods on the already created mortal world. The mortal world of Sythrilia has already existed for thousands of years, and so has the disagreement between the gods. Over that time Taron has managed to gain massive amounts of power by harvesting the force that separates the two gods. He stores all of his harvested power in Sythrilia in the form of the largest mountain ranges in the world. It splits the Pangaea in halves and at the spine of the mountain range the Time Wound formed. It formed as a result of the collection of "Harkuuk," the force that divides people (that Taron feeds on). The Harkuuk built up and eventually the mortal world could not sustain the pressure of such power and it caused the veil between worlds (see next paragraph) to split open and let in unspeakable energies. The Time Wound allows things from the other planes of the universe to travel to the mortal plane.

The universe of Sythrilia is an endless void, save the planes and realms that dot its space. The mortal plane which you are already familiar with is that of Sythrilia (it was named after the name of the world that consists of all the planes and Gods, Sythrilia, by the mortals). There is a plane for each aspect of the mortal world, so, all planes are centered around the mortal world, and depend highly upon the mortal world's existence. This is because of the God's belief that fighting should not be fought by them (for that could destroy Sythrilia altogether), but for them, by the mortals. There is a plane for each god, some more powerful than others. There is a star for each plane, so there are thousands of stars that are always out at night. This is the composition of the universe of Sythrilia.

Building off of the idea that the Gods are truly incorporated and involved with the mortal world, each side of the war has a way to communicate with their God. When Marenkon and Kos created the Elves and the Men, respectively, they also created a holy, monastic temple on the opposite sides of the Pangaea to be used to communicate to the Gods and be given insight from them. There will be a separate post on these temples.
