The sounds of dying horses jolted Sotu awake and she hopped to her feet with sword in hand. Some kind of large cat had managed to sneak up on the wagon, and kill their draft animals. Sotu didn't like that. She howled with savage rage and launched herself from the cart, charging the cat she could see, taking a wild swing at its body.

Ciara looked behind and scowled. She was disappointed that these beasts had snuck up during her watch. She pulled the reins of her horse and rode around to get between the second beast and the cart. She whispered a small prayer as she rode.

"Dian Cecht, through my faith I pay your price. Bestow me the strength to see these allies to safety."

She then stopped and reared the horse as her voice calls out to her allies seemingly cutting through all other sounds. "Protect the shipment and horses. Take these down quickly." She then pointed her torch towards Mimsy and yelled, "Earn your pay!"

Day 3 - Early Night

"S-Sotu!" Mimsy called out, though she was already a bit too late. Her adopted little sister had already charged amazingly quickly off the wagon, and digging her falchion deep into the lion ahead.

When Ciara called out for everyone to 'earn their pay'. Mimsy, ever the one who always tried her best to be helpful, reacted immediately. "Yes'm!" She said as she hopped off the wagon, pulling out her rapier in the process. She quickly took the step beside Sotu, and attempted to pierce her weapon towards the lion, in order to off-balance it enough so that Sotu can avoid attacks better. Mimsy didn't have any sense of fear at all, focused was she in ensuring the youngest member of the group would shine.

Taiga takes the bite with a grunt as he feels blood seeping from his shoulder. The scent of death filled the nose of the young weretiger as the screams of the horses rung in his ears like church bells. These beasts had attacked on his watch, invaded his territory, brazenly without permission. Taiga's blood was on fire, boiling in his ears with rage. How dare they cause this kind of pain, and how dare he be so blind as to let it happen. The sounds of the combat mixed with the thudding of his heartbeat in his ears, and then he saw Sotu go down in a haze of her own blood.


Something in Taiga snapped in that moment, his psyche activating some deep part of his soul as the king of beasts was let out of his cage. Moonlight began collecting around him like tendrils of steam coming together to make a thunder cloud. A silver aura formed around him as he dug his fingers deep into the jaws of this lion. He held the lion in place refusing to let it move as the moonlight began to assert its influence.

The moonlight aura began to condense on his skin as silver lines appeared all over his body, which formed an intricate design reminiscent of tiger stripes. An invisible wind snapped the tie holding back his hair it moved like a mantle of flames as the color began to shift, to a richer bloody red, from the roots spreading out as his hair grew longer. Then the more drastic changes began. With each thud of his heart, his group on the lion's jaw strengthened as his muscles grew along with that steady rhythm. He began to expand not only in height but also in density. In moments his shirt. which was already at its limits, shredded entirely. As he stepped down off the cart the ground crushed slightly under the increased pressure of his monstrous weight. Even with all this he just kept growing well past normal limits standing just around 16 feet tall and over 2 tons of muscle.

When the silver aura finally began to fade a Goliath stood in Taiga's place as he roared shaking the ground and scaring all the surrounding wildlife that was not involved in the fight. His fangs had turned into the size of knife blades and his nails had become claws the size of swords. When he had finally regained his composure he stood his mountain-like body heaving and tail creating its own small gust of air as his markings of silver caught the light.

In his rage, without a word, he gripped the lion, by the head, that was now off its feet and in the air, as it clung to the boulder that was his shoulder. With vicious force, Taiga put his full body weight into two upper knee slams against the center mass of the creature.

     At the sound of the horses dying Yuki leapt up from her sleep, drawing her katana from where it had lain sheathed next to her.  "Huh?  What's going on?"  She asked as she looked back and forth to see what the threat was.

Having been stirred from her sleep by the sudden halting of the carriage and death knells of horses, Eydis looks around in a panic. "Wha-!?" She had only just noticed the lions flanking the horses before feeling the carriage jostle further under Taiga's weight as he shifts into his beast form. It took her a moment to snap back to reality from the shock of all of these things happening at once. The elf immediately clambers to her feet, weaving a rune in the air that writhes like fire, and pressing it into Taiga's back. With a subtle flash, energy traces it's way to Taiga's hands, giving them a reddish, glowing hue.

With a light shove of encouragement, which has no chance to possibly move a frame like Taiga's, Eydis shouts out, "Go get 'em, Taiga!"
