[Hanako] Chapter 14: Southern Mining Site

Both of your golems, having been released, aimed their arms towards the creature. Electricity started to surge through their arms, and eventually a beam of lightning struck forth. The attack caught the creature by surprised and it wasn't able to move out of the way in time, taking full damage. Even with all those attacks, it was still only injured.

The creature realizing that dragging its prey up towards it wasn't working, then seemed to release itself from the ceiling, aiming itself towards you. It's sharp suddenly lurched forward. The creature attacked fast, and it was hard to get out of the way. It engulfed you as its teeth scraped against your flesh, drawing plenty of blood and scoring a critical hit, leaving you badly wounded from the single attack.

Trudy stepped back, and this time cast the Fire Arrow spell. "Come forth, Feuer! Crimson Duet, 『Fire Arrow』!" The completion of the spell shot forth an arrow of fire, which managed to hit the creature, leaving the creature badly wounded.

Kari, seeing the creature right next to you, charged into the fray. She managed to score a critical hit, though the creature was still only badly wounded. At the same time, her summons started to close the distance as well, though, however, unlike Kari, their attacks glanced off the creature's hide.

Gritting her teeth through the pain from the monster's attack, Hanako drew her longsword, activated her multiplier blessing, and unleashed a string of two-handed slashes.

"Get fucked!"  she roared, hoping the creature would succumb to its wounds before she did.

Your first attack managed to sink in deep, though the second one was deflected. Your two golems released their electric beams again, the creature was able to reduce the damage of one of them, but took the full blast of the other. Lastly, Trudy followed up with the same Fire Arrow spell just when the golem's electricity bolts hit. And finally the creature fell down, dead.

This time around you earned two levels, which was more than normal lately with how fewer levels have been coming comparatively.

Trudy slumped, visibly sleepy from her spellcasting. She didn't nearly have as big a pool of mana as Kari did, so even the two spells she had cast were enough to wear her out.

"Whew." Hanako ran her sleeve over her forehead, mopping away sweat. "Never ending stream of nightmares down here huh?" She sheathed her sword and found a nearby rock to sit on. "Let's take a short rest before we continue."

Leaving the golems to stand watch while the group caught their breath, Hanako pulled up her status screen. "Status."

"Really coming along here..." Hanako muttered to herself then tapped the little plus marks next to STR, INT, and WIS. Two for Strength, and one each for Intelligence and Wisdom.

Once four hours had passed, and everyone was a little more rested the group set off yet again farther into the cave.
