[Fred] Chapter 7: Underground Caverns and Tunnels

Keeping alert, Lai Fen too triggered her Ki, and you felt the pressure in the air as well from that.

As you waited for the sounds to get near, they never did, the light of the torch went to about 40 ft., but it wasn't enough as a loud and screeching noise pierced your eardrums. There were two pitches to them, one that was lower, while the other a painful higher pitched one. You saw what looked to be a wave of rippling air headed straight towards you.

You have gained +1 CON[/okay]You rolled out of the way of the blast of sound, but even though you didn't take the full brunt of it, the rippling air still shook you hard, and you felt your body strain under the destructive pressure as pain shot through you.

The rest of your group managed to get out of the way of the full brunt of the damage by also rolling away. Lai Ju was far enough away that she wasn't affected at all. Eris and Filiane were now injured. Lai Fen remained injured from her previous fight.

Filiane began to cast a spell on you, "Come forth fire, enveloping flames: 《Fire Cloak》!" Once she was finishd, you were wreathed in fire that surrounded you. The flames didn't hurt, though you could feel the warmth from them emanate outwards. With the spell complete, she moved backwards towards Lai Ju seeing as Lai Ju hadn't been injured from the attack.

Now properly surrounded by light, Fred no longer needed to fear lack of vision in the darkness. He gave a grateful nod to Filiane, before readying his spear and charging forward toward the creatures lurking beyond the torch.

Running into the darkness, the light around eventually revealed what it was that had attacked you. The hunched, reptilian beast lopes on two clawed feet, both looked as sharp and long as it's own claws. It had no eyes on its head, and instead was dominated by a huge circular maw filled with jagged teeth. As you neared it you managed to strike it from 10 ft. away. Your spear hit, and the creature was now slightly injured.

As you struck out, two arrows almost side-by-side shot from somewhere behind you. Followed by two more arrows in quick succession. The very last arrow missed their target, but three hit. The creature was now injured.

A spell was released from Eris as well, the same explosion spell she had used earlier. Eris was now tired. However, the spell managed to hit both. The first one was caught unaware, and took full brunt of the spell, but the second one managed to jump out of the way in time, though still suffering some burns. The first one was now badly wounded, while the second one was injured from the spell.

Lai Fen, seeing you move forward, flash-stepped towards the fray. With her weapon leading the way, she brought down the creature to near death.

The injured creature, sporting many deadly wounds, began to withdraw, it started to disappear into the darkness. The second one, seeing their companion start to flee, began to cover their retreat. Blasting another screeching wave towards you, Lai Fen, and Eris.

The creature continued its movement away, moving 30 ft. to catch up with its companion who had retreated earlier.

Seeing the creatures start retreating, FIliane ran forward.

Fred tumbles to the side, once more dodging the the wind blast. But it seemed that dodging didn't matter, as he once again felt incredible pain. He knew he wouldn't last much longer if he kept fighting, so he instead hid behind a section of rocks along the wall he tumbled near, avoiding being in the creature's direct line of sight, and thus out of danger from the attacks.

He grunts as he sits down, inspecting his wounds, I could've died again from those things. If I didn't dodge I would have lost my second life! Fred, you idiot. Be more careful!

As you started to find a place to hide, Lai Ju fired off another 4 arrows, all four hit. The creature was now badly wounded.

Eris moved up closer. "Oh Earth. The stone hammer.《Crushing Rock》!" When Eris finished casting, the earth started to rumble, then a 10 ft. radius area, 20 ft. in diameter altogether of stone suddenly jutted from both the floor and the ceiling. The moving earth moved surprisingly quick, and the fleeing creature wasn't able to register it on time until it was simply squished between the two layers. The creature was dead.

You are now level 28.[/okay]Lai Fen, seeing her way blocked circled towards the left of the newly formed 20-ft in diameter pillar, she didn't quite make it to the creature.

Seeing their companion get killed, the creature stopped in its tracks and roared a screeching roar. Then from its mouth the same ripple in the air was aimed towards the group. Luckily, since you had retreated to find a safe area, you were not in the range of it. Filiane and Lai Fen were however, and though they both rolled out of the way, from the blood they both coughed out, you knew they were at least taking damage somewhere internally. Both Lai Fen and Filiane were Badly Wounded.

Filiane moved up closer, then unleashed another fire spell. "Sear forth, Fire! Be a blazing spear: 《Burning Lance》!" A fiery lance appeared atop of her as she chanted, and once she spoke the keyword, the lance-like fire shot forth from her, however, her aim was off as it only crashed into the wall, missing the target altogether.

After another round of arrows from Lai Ju a notification appeared.

Lai Ju who had been at the back of the group firing her bow was the first to come to you. "Are you alright, Fred?" She asked, as she started to pull of her backpack, and retrieve what looked to be a small box that had various first-aid equipment.

Decide actions, per hour spent simply staying put is another potential encounter roll, though, with the fact you aren't moving, and likely will find a quiet out of the way place, chances for encountering other wandering monsters are lower by a set amount.

Fred groaned, "Well, I'm alive." He gave Ju a pained smile. "Luckily. I think I've learned my lesson. I need to train more. We should head back when able." He then looked to the supplies, remembering them from when the survivors had arrived. "Oh, good! Those are for my wounds, right? Thanks for thinking ahead, Ju. I didn't realize it would be this dangerous." With a grateful smile, he sat back so she could tend to any wounds he'd suffered that could be tended to.

Treat Deadly Wounds requires 1 hour action for a person with Heal to attempt. The healers can attempt to use Heal while on the move, but I'll give that a -4 Circumstance penalty on doing so.

Lai Fen, Lai Ju, and Eris brought with them packs with a Healer's Kit (10 uses) each, so 30 uses altogether. Each Treat Deadly Wounds attempt uses up 2 of those uses.

Need some input:
-Decide if Fred will attempt to use Heal on someone to Treat Deadly Wounds, and if so, choose who you will attempt to do it on, then roll it.
-Decide if you are planning to be on the move while attempting to be Healed, or if you are staying in place. If you are staying in place, roll a Survival on finding a safe-enough and secluded area to camp for an hour. Success means I'll use the lower encounters table, failure means I use the normal one for the area.

Otherwise...
