[Mako] Chapter 1: 18th Birthday

Date: Day 3 - Throughout the day

Like the previous day, you spend 16 hours training. You manage to stave off exhaustion by the end of the day, but you were fatigued. Your mother was extremely impressed with your progress.

Date: Day 4 - Early that morning

Before turning in that night Mako's mother discussed with him the idea of testing his skills in a bit more of a realistic situation. This would ensure he was grasping the concepts and be prepared for the coming duel before facing his father.

That morning Mako set out into the forest in search of opponents that would help him to grow in his new found abilities.

Just before stepping into the forest, Mako focused and cast Air Sense. His intent was to allow it to be active, his mana would go first into duration then into effect. He then followed his mother's example.

[/info]You went into the forests, and soon enough you manage to sense the presence of some creatures in the distance. Nearing closer, you spotted wolves.

They are 190 ft. away, and have not caught on to your presence yet.

He quickly took note of the positions of the wolves that were lurking within the wood. Wolves were a nuisance after all that plague those farmers that lived near the edge of town. Parties were sometimes gathered simply to deal with them when they became to bold. This was a good chance to test his prowess and lend a hand to the village.

Before drawing his blade and preparing for combat he focused on his elemental powers once more. A ranged attack would be the best line of offense and gain him the element of surprise. This would have been a great time to harden his body, but that seemed to far outside of his range of abilities at this time. To many uses of mana could after all delay his ability to strike effectively.

Focusing on a single target, Mako gathered mana into the balm of his hand, tightening and compressing the mana into the center of his palm.

It yelped, as the rest of the wolves snarled at you. The injured one and another one leapt, attempting to attack. The injured one missed, but the second wolf managed to hit, the pain hurt. The wolf attempted to trip you, but you kept your footing. You were surprised, as at least before your 18th birthday, that sort of attack would have easily had you falling.

You attacked the injured wolf, and it had died. A moment later, you got notifications.

Time to bash away at some baddies for XP! Looks like I am living the Legend of Zelda dream or maybe that horrible reference in WOW reddit about people farming boars. Either way best to not thing about that right now.

Attempting to keep all of his opponents in his line of sight, Mako slashed at the closest wolf.

You attacked the next wolf, hitting it and drawing blood. The wound on it was severe, but it still continued to fight.

The four remaining wolves attacked. However, you managed to just barely dodge each one. You body felt so much lighter than it did before.

Continue to pursue the wolf that I had recently attacked. Mako does his best to continue to avoid the his attackers as well. Once he had whittled them down to two he had a thought but wanted to be sure it was safe to purse the action.

The three remaining wolves attacked again, this time, they all managed to hit, either biting on your leg, or your ankles. In that one round of attack, you found yourself badly wounded, and had wounds and bite marks all over your body.

Mako's mind began to swirl with a mix of fear and rage. He would not be able to escape there was simply not enough time.

Mako dropped the blade from his hands and began to a mass mana into each of his palms. He was scared so he choose to not be conservative and allowed the mana to pour freely. He envisioned a tight circle around his feel that would flare to life and burst out in all directions, expelling his mana.

Your spell triggered then, and the flames spread 10 ft. in all directions. Surprisingly, the nearest one managed to evade, but still taking damage. Combined with the wound from before, it was enough to bring it down. It was dead. The other two on the other hand, were completely engulfed in the fire, falling down, dead.

More notifications appeared in your field of vision.

The moments flooded back through Mako's mind as he reviewed the combat in detail. Another screen had appeared along with more information. But what did it all mean? Those thoughts drifted away he was to tired to consider.

His thoughts of fear, rage and eventually excitement of victory slowly consumed his doubt. This was the iconic moment to raise your fist in victory and collect the spoils of your fallen foes. The smell of ash, smoke, along with burnt hair and flesh assaulted his senses. Perhaps it was the fatigue that over took him but as he gazed at the bodies, his mouth began to salivate. Mako's body began to move towards the corpses his body taking over as the fatigue clouded his senses.

He walked past the katana, and reached for the dead wolf. His body acting purely on instinct,

What happened next was something that he was certain was only ever seen in Horror Zombie shows.

You began to feast. And by feast, it was more like digging into the flesh of the now dead wolf.

Your body acted on instinct alone, and it seemed like your mind was in a complete blur. You had a vague idea of what you were doing, but yet you could not stop. Your hands continued to dig into the corpse of the wolf, tearing chunks of flesh from it, and stuffing it down your mouth and throat. You felt your mouth chew hard on the tough flesh, swallowing each mouthful with abandon. You continued to gorge yourself, yet, you still felt the urge to eat. For whatever reason your hunger wasn't being satisfied. Nor did you feel as if your stomach was getting full.

Once around half of the wolf was eaten, notifications appeared.
