Virgil, having nothing else to do and feeling restless, will help during the last two days. "I may not be able to move the really heavy stuff but I can help out. Getting everything together on the carts, yeah?" He then rolls up How sleeves and gets to work.

"I'd be happy to oblige!" Virgil meant it, too. These were the tasks he enjoyed because he got to use explosives and not worry about getting yelled at for it "being too dangerous." He chuckled slightly to himself. "It's only dangerous if you're an idiot." The words of his old mentor slipped into his mind filling him with a mix of nostalgia, anger, and sadness at the memories. He shook himself back into the moment and prepared to spend the next few days making the spectacle. "I'm going to give them something to remember."

He spends about an hour at the tavern writing up some ideas and mumbling to himself under his breath. He instinctively almost ordered a drink but stops himself. "Well, alright, I think this will do it. Got some different colors in there and for the finishing bang, our Lady's symbol. I think they'd get a real kick out of that." Finally satisfied with his plan, he gets up and goes on about his work.

Virgil raises a hand and scratches the stubble on his face. It wasn't growing in over his scars but he liked the feel. He thought to himself for a moment as he looked over the other two. "I'm not opposed to the idea. I was hoping to spend a few days outside of town anyways since I reckon it'll be busy once we get to the city." He lifts his gear and slightly struggles under the weight as he shifts. "We should probably look into getting some horses or a cart or something, though."

"Well, mornin' there ma'am. I think we're all happy to help. Leave it to us, we'll take care of it." Virgil has an eager look as shifts his piece of hay from the right side of his mouth to the left and nods. He looks to the others and a grin creeps across his face. As much as he enjoyed helping out with the festival, he had been feeling antsy in town and was looking forward to getting out for a bit. "Well, I s'pose the roads towards the North along the mountains are as good as any place to start. If there are bandits or creatures lurking about that'd give 'em a good place to hide. Plus the villages are more spread out so there's more space to stop travelers without running into trouble. Unless, y'all had another idea."

Virgil walks up gives the man a big smile as he surveys the hay walls. He speaks up in his deep slow southern drawl. "That is a mighty fine maze you got goin' on here. I had a few ideas to help you out and I have a few days before I go out on patrol. If'n you didn't mind, of course." He picks a particularly fine straw of hay and breaks it down a bit to about 6 inches long and places it in the side of his mouth. He turns around and turns his attention the pile in the middle. "I'm thinkin' a little pressure plate with a scarecrow or fake monster attached. Because who doesn't enjoy a little jump scare every now and then, right?" He gives a slight chuckle to himself as he turns around to face Garren. "I'll get started right away. I'm gonna be going through here to see what I can use so if'n ya needed somethin' ya might wanna grab it."

Virgil stands behind the stage as he readies for his part. He never particularly cared for the stories about heroes coming to save the day against monsters. He did enjoy seeing the happy faces in the crowd though. He really did it for the smiles. It didn't hurt that he occasionally got to play with fire. He smiled as he brought himself back to reality. "It's about that time." He gathered the bowls filled with powder and took lit wick and got ready. This was his favorite part. As soon as the lights go out he quickly lights the powder in the bowls.

Familia Registry (Characters) / Virgil Wright

<Character Image>

Height: 6' 2"     Weight: 155 lbs     Age: 27     Race: Raccoon

"Anything can be solved with either alcohol or explosives... Sometimes both."

Personal Information

Appearance: 6'2", 155 lbs. Red hair shaved on the sides, short on top, and long in the back. (It's a mullet.) Copper-toned skin, yellow eyes, and scars all up and down his arms and torso. He has a few scars that run along his face and part of his left ear missing.

Personality: He is very jovial. Always willing to share a story, a drink, or a scrap. He works hard to help those he considers a friend. He enjoys gambling and has been known to lose his money on betting and drinking. While not necessarily quick to anger, he tries to keep it in check on the rare occasion for fear of going back to his old ways.

Biography:Virgil Wright wasn't anything particularly special growing. He had red hair, yellow eyes, and copper-toned skin. He grew up in a small nowhere village raised by his two parents, Wyatt and Bridget on a wheat farm. When he was about 17 he grew tired of living on a farm so he packed a bag and left one night without even saying goodbye. He spent time on the road and picked up a few things here and there until he met up with a group of bandits led by a man named Aiken. He traveled with them for a couple of years. His brusque demeanor made most of the others keep a distance from Virgil. It suited him just fine, he wasn't there to make friends. He wasn't really sure what he was there for, that was until one day they stopped a cart belonging to a Raccoon named Reiki. Aiken didn't think Reiki had anything worth stealing, he only wanted loot that was sharp, shiny, or edible. Reiki was hauling different kinds of alchemical supplies. Aiken was thinking about killing the man but he told him he would be able to help him if he spared his life. Virgil didn't know why but he stepped forward and said to give the old man a shot. That chance encounter would change his life. Reiki was an alchemist with a specialty in explosives. After getting to know him and see what he could do, Virgil knew why he had stayed for so long. He began to train under Reiki who had made good on his promise to Aiken. Things were going well until one day a job went wrong. They were attempting to break into a vault when Reiki betrayed them. When the vault was emptied Reiki tossed in a bomb and closed it before Aiken and Virgil were able to get out. Aiken died in the blast. Virgil wasn't so lucky. The blast had left his arms and torso covered in scars. Many scars went across the left side of his face from up to his ear where a piece can be seen missing. He woke up a week later in prison, where he spent a number more years doing hard labor. Finally 10 years after leaving his home, he was once again free to roam. Looking for work but having a hard time finding anything other than guard work he happened across a young lady while he was enjoying a drink in a bar in a small town called Thalia Village. Virgil hadn't ever really thought about joining a familia. And only passing through he had never met the Goddess Thalia before. She said she was looking for people for a theater group and asked Virgil if he would be interested. He said he wasn't much of a performer and he didn't see much opportunities to blow anything up in the theater. She told him she could always use a pyrotechnics engineer. Normally, he would have told her to get lost but something about the way she talked to him was different than others. She wasn't afraid of him but was rather friendly as if she knew him for a long time. So he made a wager. He told her that he'd flip a coin and if she won, he would join her. He finished his drink, flipped his coin, the lady yelled out heads, and his jaw dropped as it landed on the ground showing heads. That is how he met the goddess, Thalia. Since then he has been a part of the Familia. Over the past year he has became less angry and much friendlier. And while sometimes it bothers him when people are afraid of his scars he knows he wouldn't be where he is without the events that caused them.
